I'm curious about the options in the LED section so can someone take screenshots and post them please. They're supposed to be located here

I got into work doing my usual with 90%.

Woah.

Maybe this "battery setting in" business is the real deal. Maybe fluke. Will need more days...

That what I have been saying for a few days now....the battery needs to settle for a few days then it it awesome! :) Try turning power saver on. It makes a difference.

The new HTC ONE (M7)

How did you get the battery percentage to show in the status bar?

Am I misunderstanding you or are you talking about Settings > General > Usage > Battery percentage > turn on?

Edit: Are you talking about my screenshot? It's an iPhone 5 that's jailbroken lol. I'm using StatusTweak to move system icons to the right and notification icons (open notifier) to the left like on android.

It's a shame. This is one of the very few things I don't like about the One in terms of hardware.

Thanks

Ahh - didn't know it was an iP5.....

2 questions for android phone users. I've seen reviewers talk about poor battery life on the HTC One but then they always at some point mention that the tests were performed with power saver or battery saver turned off. Why? What does battery saver option do that would prevent you from using it?

Same thing for the GS4 but with the camera. They all say look how good the dark room photos are with the One but then don't use the low light or night shot with the GS4. Anyone have low light photos taken with a GS4 in night mode?

So the iPhone 5 is better in daylight in your opinion?

In my experience Yes. The iphone 5's HDR mode is also more advanced.

Basically 8 mega pixel v 3.8 mega pixel.
In daylight the iPhone 5 wins everytime imho.

I'm sorry but forcing something I don't want, giving me no option to opt out is obnoxious. And the result of this "design choice" is to clutter (if you scroll down one page in the gallery it's all Facebook photos) my gallery with pictures I don't wish to see is disgusting.

You disagree. That's fine.

Easy solution.... don't scroll down :p

Actually I can't test this now, but give it a try. Isn't there two sign ins for facebook in accounts. Facebook for HTC and Facebook general. Sign out of Facebook for HTC and it may remove the intrusive pictures ?

T Try turning power saver on. It makes a difference.

You shouldn't have to turn on power saver to last a day. My S3 lasted a day fine without turning it on. There's people on XDA turning off LTE, basically limiting everything, to get it to last a day.

By the end of the day on my Note 2, I'm at like 15 hours of usage and 40% battery left. (no power saver on) :D

Actually it does no harm on the One because power-saver doesn't actually kick in until the battery gets to 30% anyway even when it is turned on.

I had the Note 2 for a month...too big a phone for me. But if you will read back a little. I posted a screen shot of my One after 12 hous of use and it was at 50%. I use power saver because well....it saves power and helps my battery last longer..... In my office I don't get LTE and barely get 4G so even with that kind of radio power drain the battery still performs great! Here is the screenshot again for you....

Gave that a try already. No dice. It signs you out of the FB app too when you "remove" the account from Sense's settings.

Even if you can remove it, there's a "Friends" bar in the gallery that's just empty and gray. Definitely better than a bombardment of friend's pictures you don't want, but still sucks you can't fully remove it.

HTC add any goodies to text messaging? I'm very bummed that they went with 4.1.2 as the group messaging sucks on that version, was hoping they would have sprung for 4.2.

Out of shear bordem with the 5, I decided to give the One another shot. My previous one was buggy and my new one is already acting much better out of the box. Looking forward to trying the camera out this weekend!

How about sharing with the rest of the class what is so bad about group messaging on 4.1.2.

How does this device with its specs stack up with other mobile devices including small tablets? Is it worth $650 without activation?

Looking at your screen on time it looks like you have nearly 5 hours if you add up all the blue, so you clearly was using it very heavily that day and you were also using LTE?

Even looking at the dark area for mobile signal bar you can see it was constantly polling 4G all day.

So yeah, whilst you might not think you were using it 'that' heavily, but your phone battery stats clearly think differently. I don't think you'll get better results with most other android devices either with that level of usage, except something with a 3000+ mAh battery...

Yeah, I realize I'm a heavy user, but with just surfing the web I can see my battery drop a percentage point every few minutes. My One X was much better on battery than this, and even my One X+ was better. The only phone i have had worse battery than this was my vivid, and i had to return it because it was so bad, by noon it was dead.

On my previous chart you can see between 7-8pm I had the phone on a charger and was surfing on chrome while listening to a podcast and my battery level dropped 2%. That doesn't seem right.

And last night I charged it to 100 and unplugged it before going to sleep. Between 2am-9am while I was sleeping it dropped 18%, when I woke up the battery was at 82%. That just doesnt seem right.

I haven't been able to find any app that's eating battery in the background, though this morning I download a battery usage app, and again everything seems normal, it even shows the screen usage and that doesn't seem too bad. The two processes that were using the most battery were System (*wakelock*) and Kernal (android OS) at 29% and 22%. I assume those are system resources and can't be altered, so I think I may have a bum battery.

Incoming group messages I usually get the first one, then several seconds later get separate text messages from everyone on the group message list. Also when I get a group message picture it opens in this weird playback screen like it's a movie, actually sometimes the text message itself just says MMS instead of the text and you have to hit play to view the message, weird. Also in the conversation/bubbles it doesn't label who the particular message is from, so if I am having a conversation with 10 people I will have no idea who responded to what or who said what.

Now it may have to do with having a Note 2 and maybe it's Samsung's fault, I don't know, but I do know that group messaging is horrible on 4.1.2 on my Note 2 at least. I did use HandCent for a while but it is very buggy and I reverted back to the stock app and am hoping Samsung upgrades to 4.2 soon.
