I agree, if people are hvaing issues with the battery on the One, they have two many things running. The Nexus 4 battery was brutal and the iPhone 5 battery was just ok. I utilize the powersave feature and it really helps without diminishing the performace of the device.

----------

Since April 12, here is a run down of my devices (I think you'll all agree, I have issues :) )
Iphone 5---> HTC One---> iPhone 5--->HTC One---> iPhone 5--->GS4--->iPhone 5---GS4---HTC One.

Think I've finally settled on the HTC One... I think ;)
you sound like me......so far this year.....iPhone 5...SG3....Note2...IP5....HTC One....SG4......HTC One....now both SG4 & black HTC One.....it's a sickness!

This is a screenshot of my battery life so far today. I think this is terrible.

were all as bad as each other.....

iPhone 5, HTC 8X, BBZ10, HTC One, SGS4 etc.... There's something quite messed up there :)

Your phones been on over 3 hours, you've got 30mins + of screen on time, so you've clearly been using it quite a bit and your only down 20% ? That doesn't seem so bad to me.

Also biggest percentage of usage according to that is App Usage : it doesn't tell us what apps you were actually using.

Hey MRU....how did you like the HTC 8X?

The biggest app usage was the Android Kernel which was at 20%. I think that's what is the issue. I am going to have to flash my kernel to a new one from the XDA forums. Ugh.

Hey MRU....how did you like the HTC 8X?

tbh I was underwhelmed. Hardware it was grand, speed and performance no hassles but... the power button was truly awful & very awkward to press, and with windows phone 8 - i felt by the time i had added the stuff i want on home screen the whole thing got into a very cluttered confusing mess. Likewise i didn't feel 720p added much to windows 8 experience either. The camera was poor too but the killer was that all my favourite apps that are on both android and iOS were not available in windows 8. so yeah. underwhelmed.

Thanks MRU....I have heard the same from other people as well. I have not tried it yet but I am curious but will wait until the platform matures a little more.

I agree, complete and utter sickness.... now I'm sitting here with an S4 a day after I said i was sticking with the One, and guess what I'm sitting here missing... I can't win

Both devices are great I was the same with the S4. I missed alot of features of the One (speakers, power button [for me I find it easier than the S4], HTC Zoe, design aesthetic of dialler, contacts, calculator, music app [much better than S4's music app] and even the ringtones [i thought the selection on the S4 were not as good as the Ones] and few other bits).

But the S4 is a really fab phone in its own right. So just give It some time, and remember both devices do have compromises (yes I too would have loved a baby of the two - the 13mp camera in the ones shell) but that's not an option... so like the song says

'Love the one your with, not the ONE you just returned'..... :p

I'm really lucky these phones aren't women or I'd be in a whole different kind of trouble! :D

Just wish I'd settle in to one. This back and forth is costing me a small fortune too!!!

HTC to double production to meet strong demands for the One. Good for them.

Still not going to come close to touching Samsung and how well the S4 is doing though, me thinks. I believe the S4 is set to hit 10 million sold by next week.

Yes...its great for HTC to have a hit on their hands! Samsung is seeing enormous growth right now.....

LOl same here. I got tired of waiting for my RMA'd HTC One because it's still been back ordered so I cancelled it. Been using a Galaxy S4 from work and am now thinking having an iPhone 5, S4, and HTC One is overkill! Save the money and probably buy an iPhone 5S if it isn't just another rehash of the 5!

Am I the only one here that now really wants an HTC One Google Edition? :D

I wouldn't be surprised if HTC rolled out a rom for the developer edition at least.

That's great news for HTC.

Samsung is ALMOST to Apple's iPhone level with the Galaxy line. They'll likely be able to produce strong sales numbers with relatively small (compared with the GS1 > GS2 > GS3) updates now.

Glad to hear HTC is getting strong feedback as well! I said it before the One launched, if HTC can sell a good 30-40 million One's over the course of the year, that'll be a huge success for them.

Obviously, not on Apple's or Samsung's level (given Samsung will be at roughly 10 million after the first month+ and will likely top the 60+ million of the GS3 after a year and Apple routinely sells close to 100 million per year), but nice to see HTC get some recognition - especially after producing such an excellent phone!

The One has delivered without a doubt. What remains to be seen is how quickly HTC is to send out software updates... this a good start for them. The One is a great building block...

I think that the One is a great phone, nothing like the One X was.

Problem is i fear HTC is still not going to be able to sell it.

Every carrier store has huge GS4 banners around. This never happened with HTC One launch.

With both the One and GS4 side by side, i have seen a line up of people wanting to touch the GS4, and barely anyone noticing the One.

And finally, i am already seeing the GS4 pop up in people's hands around the city after just two weeks while i have only seen one HTC One so far despite it being available a full month or more.

This is saddening. Samsung's hard work at their marketing is paying off.

And i feel real bad for HTC, because the One impressed me so much more than the S4 :(

Time to take a loan and hire some good marketing help, HTC. Don't fail or we will all be stuck with touchwiz!

I've seen more HTC One commercials than any other HTC commercials before (aside from carrier branded commercials).

I also happen to live near the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco and there is an HTC One experience center there. They put these large kiosks in large, popular malls across the country to help promote the One.

I think its working based on a poster's link a page or two ago that said HTC was needing to ramp up production to meet demand.

Like I said earlier, HTC doesn't have to come anywhere near the GS4's sales numbers (which I predict will hit roughly 70 million after a year). If HTC can sell 30+ million One's, they've succeeded and have a great smartphone to build future successes off of.

At this point HTC can't match Samsung's marketing.....but it seems to me they are doing all they can. I got asked at the bank yesterday what phone I had....I told the teller the HTC One and she said "oh, ya!".

Hmm, as much as Toronto goes, people seem to be more in love with Samsung.

We were discussing this yesterday at work and one of my co-workers goes "you should by a S4, it is like having a true computer compared to all of the rest", i was like "what?, many of them run android which is the same thing".

The s-sheep is no myth, i tell you.

Ha, its funny isn't it. Most of them were/are the same people who scream about iSheep.....

More than anyone else, Samsung is becoming the next "Apple"....except infinitely more obnoxious and confrontational.

Like I said, we'll still see more GS4's than One's, likely more than 2:1. But the One seems to have caught on somewhat and with no other HTC flagships to get in the way, its got a chance to gain some momentum and sell pretty well.

30 million would put it squarely in the #3 spot as far as single phone sales go....and HTC would likely keep its place (#3) in terms of OEM marketshare - at least here in the US anyways......I think Huawei or ZTE might be #3 worldwide.

EDIT: LG is #3 as of Q1 2013 with 10.3 million shipments last quarter worldwide....
