the battery on the one was unimpressive when i first got it, but it's just been ridiculously good in the last few days. i'm getting nearly five hours of screen on time, and that includes a couple hours of bluetooth audio streaming to my car and making phone calls. much better than my nexus 4.

The folks that have flashed the 4.2.2 rom are reporting increased battery life too so it's going to get better too :)

Still haven't seen any trace of anyone in euro land with legit OTA of 4.2.2 yet though.

After spiking in May, HTC One sales expected to be flat June

HTC came out of the gate swinging with its latest flagship smartphone. The HTC One has been well received by consumers and critics, recently racking up sales of 5 million units. HTC reported that revenue in May grew 48% sequentially as the HTC One helped sales reach their highest level in 11 months. In fact, Kevin Chang of Citigroup Global Markets believes that the HTC One accounted for half of the company’s sales, the Taipei Times reported. He estimates that shipments may have doubled from April to reach 1.2 million units. Sales of the smartphone are not expected to improve again this month, however. The analyst believes that shipments of the HTC One may have peaked and because sales of other models remain weak, and he notes that the company’s revenue is likely to be flat in June.

I think Apple, Samsung and HTC are all running into the saturation issue. They get a large spike from contract holders and early adopters but then it flattens out faster. Not positive about Apple but a similar story was out about S4 sales yesterday

60% of American adults have smart phones, that next 20-40% is going to be really hard to get.

Valid point. The only big "spike" we will be seeing once again is when the next iPhone comes out.

or iPhones (plural) if they indeed do release a plastic model this year. What is going to be interesting is to see if sales of the iPhone 5S are cannibalised by the cheaper iPhone, much like the mini iPad has cannibalised the larger models sales numbers - rather than necessarily 'expanding' its marketshare and the effect that will have on Apple's own stock price too.

Re : HTC - I said all along I still think they'll be doing well if they manage to get to 10 million HTC One sales over it's life compared to its competitors. Again we don't know what the reality is of actual 'sales' figures as opposed to shipment figures too. 5 million shipped could be 2, 3, 4 sales for example.

They do have the 4.3 M4 coming out and the Note 3 rival I think its going to be called the HTC Max (6" with stylus) and whilst this might boost a few of their sales towards the Q3/Q4 of this year, I still doubt it will be enough to make a mark on Note 3 sales or iPhone (iPhones) 5s sales.

On the two UK tech magazines (T3 and Stuff) this month the HTC One is the number one phone in both publications top ten, the S4 is in at number two on both. :)

From my exposure to HTC Max rumors are that it would not include a stylus? Please prove me wrong:D

For me, the only way the Max pulls me from the Note 3 is it having a stylus; otherwise, no thanks. Also, it has to be as smooth as Samsung has made their S-Pen's integration with the phone.

really doesn't mean anything. We all know that the One X last year was reviewed more favorably than the S3 also.

Yes, although not in the UK in the two magazines I referenced, the S3 was top of the tree for a long time until the Sony Xperia Z was released.

I have an S4 myself and really enjoy it, but thought that it may interest those that have the One. I certainly believe that we are at a time where the choice of outstanding flagship phones is superb. :)

Hey guys, new member.

I have a YouTube channel where I do tech reviews, roms, news, etc. About a week ago, I posted a video of Android Revolution 10.0, which showcases Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 on a T-Mobile US HTC One. Here's the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1_qdB-yYqo

I've also done a pretty long comparison between the iPhone 5 and the HTC One - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKbOiqgCkrg

Here's a hardware comparison between the iPhone and HTC One - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIdMEOzEOYQ

HTC One running a recent build of CM10.1 CyanogenMod Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 (stock) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0jhnb_OpRc

Thanks and let me know if you guys have any questions or requests!

Congrats to HTC and the One.

Now... let's talk 4.2.2. It's expected mid-June, no?

Yeah that's the date being banded about on Elevate channels.

I see they have managed to get S-Off now with the one over on XDA. I'm tempted to try it and get Super CID so I can change my CID to a different version (unbranded europe or developer edition) but the instructions terrify me. I wish they had a one click solution like the rooting tool that allows you to do it. Hopefully someone puts one out.

Nice! I have yet to see any comparison or battle against any other device that has not been in favor of the HTC One. Really wish HTC would stop up their marketing efforts. I've seen a little bit of marketing but imagine if they took it up a notch. The HTC One is a great phone.

I saw a pre-roll for a web video on the HTC One today. That i think is more than i ever saw for the One X.

Why not use HTC to do that?

That's the bootloader. That will allow you to install other roms but won't allow you to change your model number.

S-Off allows you to flash an RUU from a different official carrier version. Basically you could change a AT&T model to an official developer unbranded model and recieve the OTA updates from developer version rather than AT&T.

My HTC One has a vodafone splash screen, by changing its CID to HTC_001 I would be able to put the official unbranded software on my phone and turn it for all intents and purposes into the unbranded europe Model meaning I would get the software updates first rather than having to wait for my carrier version.

Its a non legit way of legitimaley changing your models ID number and only with S-Off can you do that. Its nothing to do with rooting or being bootloader unlocked. You don't need those at all if you have Super CID

Oh...i thought once you unlocked the boot loader you could Odin a non branded image? Doesn't the unlocked bootloader allow you to unlocked the phone from carriers? there are tons of cell unlock sites that can remove the carrier locks. They run about $15 US....

They remove the carrier lock for the sim (to make it sim free) but its still the carrier version of that hardware. So an unlocked AT&T phone would still require AT&T to push out the update rather than HTC, even if you were using a t-mobile sim.

For example my vodafone HTC One is sim free out of the box as is, but still has vodafone branding and would require Vodafone to push out the update because its CID is VODAP001 rather than unbranded sim free model HTC_001.

If you try and load an official RUU (not a modified rom) on the One even if you are bootloader unlocked it will fail if the CID doesn't match. Hence you need S-Off to enable SuperCID which allows you to modify your CID.

I changed my CID on a phone a good while ago (I can't remember if was a Sensation XE or Galaxy S2) with a one step tool. Running terminal commands and ADB commands are just too much for me to get my head around.

There is software called Odin....that will let you flash another image on the phone. You could find an unlocked or international stock image. This is the software that let us restore bricked phones that won't boot.

Odin is only for Samsung phones though I believe isnt it ....

And yeah looking at it - it was Odin I previously used so must have been my Galaxy S2.
