I highly doubt it. I believe the reason the Mac Mini has not been updated is because Apple is waiting on Broadwell. Had Broadwell been released without delay, it would have arrived in time for a Mini update in mid-2014--just like the leaked screenshot. I can only see Apple going to ARM if they decide to transition the entire line of Macs, and I don't think they have parity with Intel on ARM CPU design, yet.

Not as Personal PC mac mini, but a Mini-Server - or Timecapsule with Full OS/X Server this could happen, if fact its something expected due the rise of the ARM based NAS displacing the mac mini serverver.

Have you noticed that ever since page 135 or so, the page links get messed up every time we reach the end of the page (an even 25 comments)? When the comments fit on exactly 138 pages (3450 comments) it creates a link for page 139, but clicking it only takes you back to the top of page 138. Yes, I understand that I have ruined it for this time by writing this post, but look for it when we get to 3475!

It does not happen in other (shorter) threads. What could be the significance of this remarkable phenomenon? Is the end of the world near? Or at the very least the end of the Ivy Bridge Mac Mini era?

It is the end of the world as we know it!

It could mean a collision with a parallel universe. :)

The new Mac mini is almost certainly coming

It could mean a collision with a parallel universe. :)

It could mean a more mystic thing is going to happen like a mythical mac mini with dgpu desktop processor and ssd in a nmp case is almost certainly coming. However who believed that? Parallel universes are more probable.

Clever detective work. I believe the new Mac mini may be trapped in the page interstices. How can we get it out?

Okay......Mac mini is coming out in a few days as a silent upgrade.

Don't expect TOO much. Latest haswell, integrated iris graphic (yea!), graphic 5000 card, etc.

base 1tb HD for all models, and base ram is now at least 8gb ram.

all as expected more OR less.

The REAL newsworthy change, in all of this, is a price cut of $100 across the board...mostly because the haswell upgrade, awesome as it is for a mini, is still antiquated compared to what is coming in the pipeline.

this is meant to help highlight the arrival of Yosemite, a computer release of some sort. For all those saying that the delay was because of the new chipsets being delayed are wrong. This was the plan all along, despite whether those chips were available or not. It just changed from a more official sounding release to a silent one now.

This will be the last upgrade of its kind BEFORE a major revision/re-design, to milk the product line for what it is worth.

I know, know.... how can WE trust you, right? ;-) I have it on GOOD authority....'ME.' If I said who ME was, I'd lose my job.

But this is a 100% guarantee. Take it with a grain of salt, but I do a very good motive for this:

I would hate to be THAT GUY who bought a mac mini from a best buy or elsewhere with a stingy return policy for him to find out THE HARD WAY this upcoming eminent release.

So I did my part for the sake of karma. Peace out folks.

I'll believe this when I hear it. If Haswell was in the works for mini, an update would've rolled out earlier this year.

As far as I can see, a Haswell (mobile CPU) upgrade isn't even worthwhile on a mac mini considering it's greatest claim to fame is its energy consumption, which is pretty much moot point for a desktop machine.

I'm in the camp that says a mini update will be announced sometime in the new year with a Broadwell processor.

It's a glitch in the Matrix...

About time someone said something in this thread that will actually make it interesting. I may as well step up.

I bet $5 that a new Mac mini will be announced at this conference on Tuesday. Any takers?

So for the first time in over 3000 posts, someone finally actually has some skin in the game :)

I can only afford to bet with one person, so do not all try to jump on this :)

If you were here I'd take that bet! Not a chance of them announcing a new Mac mini. We are far more likely to see (in order):

  1. iPhone 6 (a given)
  2. 'iWatch"
  3. New Beats headphones
  4. New Apple TV
  5. New iPods (even older than mini)
  6. The large screen Apple Television
  7. New iPads (although probably next month)
  8. New MacBooks (probably next month)
  9. New iMac and Mac Pro

I would even add "10. Reversible USB Cable" to that list.
I think even that might be more probable than a new Mac Mini.

Reading about the new Broadwell chip and it's features and benefits, When it does make it's way into the mac mini I predict that the mac mini will get very small, so the fears (or hopes) of soldered ram and non replaceable hard drives will be a reality. It sounds like we will see one before the end of the year. But I'm not clear of the performance gains we will see over the current gen, except for better graphics.
So what will be come of OS X server?

My opinion is save your $5 for next year.

10. Stand-alone retina display (?)

That may be its greatest claim to fame, but it would also have better graphics.

I'm also waiting for new MacMini, my iMac died about two months ago and my budget is very limited.

Until my iMac died, my currant early 2009 MacMini was used as media server with Plex, now it's my main system and it's still working pretty good.

However, if Apple wont introduce new MacMini I might have to buy a PC.

Hell, I'll take your money, but it hardly seems fair.

I guess the only reason for the Mac Mini to get stage time on Tuesday would be if it's redesigned with a wireless charging pad on top for the iWatch. I'm not sure how likely that is though. They may not want to give the Mini something built-in when it requires a separate accessory for iMac users.

But otherwise a silent upgrade maybe?

Well, I forgot to mention there was a one hour time limit on my bet :) So, I rescind my bet. I was really trying to somehow affect the kharma/stars whatever to get us all a new mini :)

I still cannot understand why the word "amazing" is often used with reference to a possible "iWatch" but that is another thread, I guess :)

Soon it will be tomorrow, but I will be asleep before then. If / When I awake it will be tomorrow, and it will be Tuesday, the 9th day of the 9th month , which may or may not be the da………. zzzzzzzzzzzz

I have my eye on the Intel NUC 2.0 due in a few months. Just in case.

It really is completely hysterical that there may be more of a chance for a Reversible USB Cable than a new Mac mini! LOL!
