Have you noticed that ever since page 135 or so, the page links get messed up every time we reach the end of the page (an even 25 comments)? When the comments fit on exactly 138 pages (3450 comments) it creates a link for page 139, but clicking it only takes you back to the top of page 138. Yes, I understand that I have ruined it for this time by writing this post, but look for it when we get to 3475!

It does not happen in other (shorter) threads. What could be the significance of this remarkable phenomenon? Is the end of the world near? Or at the very least the end of the Ivy Bridge Mac Mini era?

Been reading this thread since page one and still waiting and hoping for a new Mini like the rest of us. I'm just posting to confirm the above problem - I click on the '140' button but it takes me back to page 139.

Lots of these rumours sound interesting but any update will do me as long as it comes with the newer graphics, so maybe they should slip in a Mini update with the iPhones?

Or better yet, slip an iPhone update in with the Minis. And change the company name back to Apple Computer! :)

Apple also could ditch the mini in favor to another market strategy, an fanless Broadwell M "Mac Nano" with iris pro 5300 graphics, and a Mac desktop based on the Mac pro with discrete gpu and a range of cpu/gpu options from Haswell i5/Iris Pro 5200 (same as iMac 21) to Haswell-E/ATI-R9-295x2 all these systems offering only ssd storage from 128 to 1.5tb.

The Mac Nano maybe 100$ cheaper (499) besides much smaller, and the Mac (w/o another moniker) starting from 700$ to 3500$ depending cpu/gpu/ram/ssd options.

Mac Nano to come full soldered except the ssd, while the Mac accepting so-dimm (ddr4) on high end and soldered ram (ddr3) on lower end.

Sorry Mago but your idea makes way too much sense for Apple. They haven't been that reasonable in a few years.

Santa clause could be real.

Apple isn't reasonable, they're competitive if this means more money be sure they will do no matter what *purist* and *jobs cult* said Apple must do.

Lately I believe every thing from Apple, just look the iWatch: 1day battery life, precisely the most criquized defect on Android Wear.

I agree wit the Nano theory with Broadwell Core M this year and u series next year. Core M could be $100 cheaper as you state.

Whether it is serviceable is a big question. Apple would be wise to follow the NUC example with replaceable ram and HDs.

They may try to use up their left over Haswell chips though in the current enclosure. I doubt, if that is the case, that Iris Pro will be an option because of expense.

I lost every hope to get upgradable ram since Zotac just joined the soldered ram train (zbox pico) , and seems Intel will do the same on the NUC2.

We will know soon because the NUC Broadwell Core M comes out this year.

The NUC is sold as a kit so they will probably offer slots and I think Core M only allows 8Gb. Apple may solder since it isn't a kit.

Trust me, a new mini is coming next week, or at least we have solid evidence to believe it.

December 2013. Least it might make sense to refresh with Broadwell. So that's another few months?

We'll see Mac Pro bump before Mac mini at this rate

No mac mini will be announced at tomorrow's event. My source says a press-release will introduce the new mini.

I would buy one tomorrow if it is updated. But why would Apple refresh it tomorrow? Why not during their usual October iPad/OS X/Mac event?

Just because it's a minor update? I'm curious.

Apple is now torturing me! Having finally ordered my mini last Thursday it's been stuck in 'preparing for shipment' almost ever since. If they do refresh it today (quietly if at all) I fully expect them to ship mine out the day after with a sticker on it saying "Bad timing dude".

If they do, it would either be the new model or you would be able to return it, so there is no risk.

Here it is Tuesday. I went to apple.com and added 10 mini's to my cart. I guess there is no shortage of the current mini :(

May be, may be not ;):p:):D:eek:

but will there be room for such announcement? iphone 6 and 6 plus. sales statistics, developer payouts. 45 minute infinity blade demo and iwatch. no way they sneek a mac mini in the keynote. hopefully they "on the down low" update it like the imac last year

If we are to go off the other desktop Macs, a long period without a refresh means redesign is certainly coming. This always requires some keynote time. I doubt we will see it tomorrow(or today depending where you are at in the world) but we will most likely see it this october.

we might not see any computers this year :(... broadwell imacs macbooks and minis in February for sure.

mac mini: intel 5820m iris 6100 dual thunderbolt 2.0 soldered ram and ssd
imac: 5770s 980m Maxwell.
macbook pro 15: might be able to fit 980m maxwell in a apple laptop since the power draw will be less and run cooler than a 680mx/780m

why not iris pro 6200 for mini ?

if intel makes a 45w broadwell mobile quad core chip with iris 6200 then maybe but most likely not since the introduction of the low cost imac would be the suitor of that. there needs to be some distinguish between the low cost imac and mac mini

Ah yes - don't they charge a restocking fee however, or is that just for iDevices? And of course I have the memory waiting for it at home already, memory which probably then won't fit.

apple does not charge restocking fees. they changed there policies a while back to were they don't give a f why your returning a product just as long as it's in the return window and undamaged.
