I have also noticed that the Apple Online Store has been down for over 2 hours. I hope that new things will appear when it comes back!

I did not see any new things, either!

But, when I checked my account, I discovered an exciting news: My nMP is "Preparing for Shipment"!

I ordered one yesterday (i7 2.3GHz) as I can wait no longer :-(

If they do release one it needs to be in the next 14 days!

This thread needs to include a list of holidays and other retail occasions to reference when the store goes down. We could even map the lead times to enhance predictability.

Ah predictability... the best predictors are leaks... technical leaks not some vague/obscure retail website like back in January. New machine identifiers in beta builds, actual new part numbers, leaked supplier photos...

Apple is very good with corporate security, but leaks do happen. Look at the mold photos for iPhone 6 or the machine IDs for AppleTV. Trying to predict on a calendar is probably the least accurate way.

I really want to see a updated mini, but given the total absence of any credible leaks I don't have hope for an imminent update.

I agree with you on the retail leaks that most if not all of them are total bull. However, unlike the iPhone or Apple TV, a new mac mini with the same form factor but upgraded specs isn't the kind of thing most people care about, or at least not as much as the iPhone or iPad certainly.

I'm not interested in gettng a mac-mini at all, but I just wanted to stop in and say that update is taking forever! I looked at the apple store last night yesterday to see that it was down and thought - "mac mini". Looks like other people shared the idea as well. This delay has me thinking something could be bigger is in the works for it. Since the Apple Thunderbolt display is long overdue for an update, and Apple TV needs a makeover to stay current - maybe something special is in the works for all three.

Hang on folks! I waited a long while for October's Macbook Pro update, and know the feel. It will come, and you will love it even more. :D

Mini on next Tuesday - Earth Day.

Apple to Honor Earth Day 2014 at Retail Stores, Main Campus.

The new Mini will be released with a reduced carbon footprint.

It will be a revolutionary hybrid mini/iWatch.

apple should at least reduce the price from $600 to $500 for the base, i mean it is 2 years old now
in tech years that's a long time

As an EE working with RF I'm curious why wifi drops, out when planes fly overhead. The only thing I can think of is that they are emitting large enough amount of RF in the same frequency band of wifi (2.4 GHz or 5GHz) to overwhelm the front end circuits of the receiver. If that's the case, then those transmitter must be putting out enormous power as RF power falls off at the rate of 1/distance^2 which is pretty steep if you plot it.

they fly lower then commercial . sometimes it is the one with a huge radar disc.

2 years in the summer they flew blimps overhead, since it is the same base the hindenberg burned that is near me in Howell NJ.

Mind you most of this was from 2004 to 2009 . But once I fully wired the house with cat 5 and cat 6 . I don't test for the issue .

Also the plane/blimp/helicopters are now reduced 90%

I am trying so hard to wait. I know 15 days after I buy one, the new ones will be released. But I'm pretty sure my 2009 MBP logicboard is shot because even after reformating and reinstalling a fresh version of the OS, I am still having frequent KPs/restarts. It even screwed up my time machine backups, making the harddrive unable to either be mounted or unmounted, so I had to wipe and do a fresh backup (which missed a lot of important things like support files for programs so things like iTunes couldn't launch!). I was able to recover all my documents, photos, movies and music, so that's good but I'm pretty much just hoping I can get a new Mac Mini soon and (I hope) just transfer from my MBP to the MM using Data Migration tool.

Obviously I don't really know much more than anyone else in here, but I don't think apple would announce anything new before the developers conference, so if you can't wait at least that long, then I would just buy a 2012 mini.

agreed. There is nothing new coming out till atleast WWDC.

If something isn't mentioned at WWDC then I fear it may be dead.

That's what I was thinking/afraid of. Did not help that my computer completely failed last night (I can't even load OSX and when I go into Recovery mode, the "Macintosh HD" drive won't even mount). So I'm glad I was able to confirm I was able to recovery almost all my important files.

So now I need to decide if I should just be without a computer for about three months (I do still have an iPad and iPhone) or if I should get a Mac Mini now and risk missing the update. Honestly, I don't think I'll miss out on TOO much but I need at least 1 TB of harddrive space and I might save $200 if I wait for the next generation.
