Personally I think this new music app is not what I wanted. I prefer the old look and navigation as it was more in line with the iTunes on the computer. I'm just going to have to get used to the new music app, I know eventually I'll be used to it and completely be ok with it.

I agree the design is bland and so are the functionalities, it goes beyond me that you cannot search locally by default.

Even Siri when asked "Play songs by *artist*" will start playing songs of said artist that are not in my personal library. If i'm asking to play a song by someone it's safe to assume I meant those in to Apple music!!
in PB 2 and DB 3 Local
Library is by default

I believe all starts from adding streaming services "Apple music" back to iOS 8.4 era. TBH I liked that version of music app quite a lot because it was clear and easy to use. I didn't think there was anything wrong.
But now....
Apple Needs a dedicated app specifically for Apple Music, which has zero value to me. Or Apple will continue messing up working stuff and introducing more bugs and collecting more outrages and then losing customers.
I dont even have Apple Music in my country.... And the music app on ios 9.3.3 is really annoying in my opinion . Yet to try ios 10 but it looks better

I missed the mode for shorting up next queue and review my last listening in the queue as iOS 9 did. Hope include as iTunes a button To change between up next or prevous queue

Still can't sort lists of albums chronologically under Downloaded Music/Artists. This is driving me crazy, I like to listen in order. Any word if they will add this feature back?

I couldn't stomach the music app in my 6-hour testdrive of the iOS 10 beta. I had great hopes for Apple Music in particular and was looking forward to some substantial improvements to the service and the music app too.

The new design looks completely out of place and cramped, despite the fact that I was using it on an iPhone 6. The supersize components make it look very busy, as if you never have a complete overview of where you are. I have the exact same feeling when I'm zooming in on a desktop-sized website in Safari. I have this urge to zoom out or pan around and it drove me crazy. I also found the changes to Apple Music superficial at best. They do not address any problems I currently have with Apple Music, like the fact that all playlists are sorted alphabetically, that you cannot create folders or that you cannot rename or edit Apple Music playlists. It also annoys me that they once again remove the separate playlists button from the tab bar. The browse section in Apple Music is even more cluttered than before, even though they solved that exact problem many years ago in the iTunes app. The music app is pure change for change's sake to me and it alienates me even further.

I will be discontinuing my subscription and consider using Deezer or moving back to plain-old music downloads with one of the third-party apps mentioned here. I am really disappointed with the state of Apple software design, it is not what it used to be and I am finding more comfort in third-party apps nowadays. Unfortunately, I cannot avoid the terrible changes to the lock screen and notification centre either.

How it should be is a unified search and first gives you results from your library and second lists results from Apple Music.

If you are not showing Apple Music, the options are "Your Library" and "Radio". You don't get the option to do a local search. And all "Radio" does is attempt to get you to subscribe to Apple Music again!:mad:

I wish they'd tone down the font sizes a bit. The now playing screen Song Name and Album Titles are so huge you can barely fit any text on the screen, so it has to scroll constantly.

At least give us a text size option for the music app!

I agree. While the font size is okay on my 6s, I feel it will be a bit much on my SE (and 4" screens in general).

In my opinion, it should support dynamic type.

I'm getting used to it.
I download everything from Apple Music, but none of them have lyrics with them

Anyone else seeing this on iPad? http://cl.ly/h5Rb
  • Card goes all the way to the top
  • Back card has square right edge
  • Minimize animation is wrong.
Back animation is the same on iPhone but don't see the other two on iPhone.

This has been annoying the hell out of me.

If I'm listening to my iPhone on shuffle, sometimes a song will come on that I'm really digging. Then, I decide to myself that I wanna hear more from that artist, so I tap the album title, then I tap the artist name at the top. In iOS 9, this would take me to that artist and all of their albums on my iPhone, however, now it just goes to that artist in Apple Music which means it shows ALL of their albums (even the ones I don't own). Since I only use local music, this is very annoying to me because now I have to go back, search for the artist manually and shuffle their songs.

Also, I've tried turning Apple Music off completely, but it does the same exact thing. It still suggests music I don't own!!!

Happen the same on me. Pretty annoying.

Apple is doing whatever they can to force user subscribing their crappy Apple Music.

They NEED an individual app for Apple Music and an individual app for just Music.

They don't need that. You need that.
