Hmm.. I just tested this. I changed the Session Timeout to "Logout on exit", and once I exitted the app my friend told me I was logged out. So I guess you have to be logged on onto Beejive in order to let the push notification work properly. Does anyone know if changing the Session Timeout to say 12 hr or 24 hr will eat up a lot of battery life even if you exit the app? Thanks.

the session timeout just shows how long the beejive servers will keep you connected, but it's not something running on your iphone, so it doesn't affect your battery. just put this to 24hrs, as long as you open the app once every day you will always be online and ready to receive push

Anybody got this working on a 3G? (not S). I downloaded
the 3.0 version and its not doing push. I have all 3 notifications
enabled. I disabled email push in settings. Still nothing. My messages
only show if I launch the app. Suggestions?

yup working on my 3G

go to the notifications settings menu, then deactivate and reactivate it again again for badges, alerts, etc. and also for the main on/off switch.

It's nice that AIM is intuitive about push

Meaning - if you set it to log out immediately when closing the app, push turns off (not an option) - if you decide to stay in from 5 min on to the longest amount - it comes back on

So after 10 minutes of exiting the app, it just signs you out of AIM.

I was hoping it'd set me to idle. That's kind of useless--the whole point is to stay logged in to get Push notifications while you aren't in the app...

Edit -- I'm a BeeJive newb. You set your session timeout to up to 24 hours :)

I have a dumb question, is there a way to make the app make the classic AIM sound when receiving a push notification? I can rig it so I have the AIM app only receive sound and the beejive show badges and notifications so it creates this effect, but it would be nice to have the AIM sound coming from the app :)

in BeeJive or AIM? AIM has longer settings but I haven't been logged in log enough to determine

Tried all that. Rebooted phone. Even changed IM status to Available instead of Invisible in Yahoo. Enabled / disabled push email to see if that makes a difference. Nothing.

Looks like others having same issues too.

This Yahoo! problem may be due to their server upgrades. I was having some issues running Yahoo! in Pidgin on my work PC, I had to change the server IP to get it to log in. I wonder if this is causing the issues in Beejive for you all.

Go to the beejive tab in the settings menu and go down to sounds, you can pick from default, AIM, MSN and yahoo sounds. I currently have the AIM sound playing when I get a notification from beejive
