so I've already had several crashes one bringing down the whole OS and was trying to chat with my gf and several incoming and out going messages were not being sent or recieved. Submitting a bug report.

Tried all that. Rebooted phone. Even changed IM status to Available instead of Invisible in Yahoo. Enabled / disabled push email to see if that makes a difference. Nothing.

Looks like others having same issues too.

I tried all that was well. No luck. This might explain why I only receive half of the AP alerts as well.

I wonder what other Apps are updated but haven't reached the update servers yet? Though I'm not about to delete 9 pages of Apps to find out LOL.

Go to the beejive tab in the settings menu and go down to sounds, you can pick from default, AIM, MSN and yahoo sounds. I currently have the AIM sound playing when I get a notification from beejive

Okay I did that but still receive the default sound. I just turned Notifications on and off to see if it resets this problem. Just awaiting a new notification :)

this is really weird.....i turned off email push and even removed my email from the settings and somehow the program is pushing using the PNS AND to my email, wtf???

How does BeeJive's push compare to AIM's push?

Is BeeJive's app faster than AIM's? Also, how about the performance of each application? Which one more stable and snappier?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

Awesome. Working beautifully for me.

It was working fine for me too but I stopped receiving notifications and can't seem to log in to my account now (MSN).

How does BeeJive's push compare to AIM's push?

I had both apps running push and it created quite a mess! Both apps pushed the notifications almost at the same time, so I would say that both are probably very good in this department.

However, I have to say that after purchasing Beejive, that Beejive is a much better IM app :)

Ugh, I'm having a difficult time logging in to Yahoo and Facebook. When I try to log into Yahoo it says "connection failed on all fallback ports." Not sure if the problem is on my end, or Beejive's.

I dont know about you guys but push is working flawlessly but when I try opening the app to respond, it takes forever to connect to the server/open the app

So far so good. I really only use Facebook chat now, but so far it's been instant in sending push messages. I'm wondering how long we'll have to wait for push updates once there is millions of people starting to use this service. Do you all have that bad feeling too?...

How do you figure?

First of all, it has landscape texting available now whereas AIM will be waiting until later...even though they had landscape built into the beta software (I thought)

Another thing is, maybe it is just me, but AIM has these weird hang ups when someone is sending me a message and I am trying to type. Maybe calling it lag is more appropriate.

Also, it feels like it takes longer to send messages. In AIM when you press send, you are not able to type until the message pops up in the chat screen, which sometimes takes a few seconds. With Beejive, the message pops up there instantly and allows you to continue typing.

Beejive also has a very elegant interface.

I have not tried the paid version of the AIM app though, so maybe I am not making the correct comparison!

you know, if you are jailbroken and have statusnotifier installed, enable IM icons, and have beejive push turned on with popups off, it's practically like it's running in the background. You get the visual notification of a message (in the status bar) without the popup. Better than just the sound, cause you could miss that.

does status notifier work for 3.0 now? i tried it yesterday and it just crashed

Saw all the chatter here...opened up "App Store" on my iPhone and it notified me that the new version of Beejive was available with 3.0 support and push. Clicked the "Free" button and installed the update.

Piece of cake. Works great!
