I love Nintendo games, and I miss playing them, but for me personally graphics are very important aswell.
So you're disappointed in visual fidelity of Breath of the Wild?

So Mario will be 720P?
I guess we won't see much games at 1080P then?
And I guess it's true Zelda is maxing out the consoles power, and therefore we can't expect much better in the future.

I don't know what to do.
I want to play Mario, Zelda and Super Smash Bros when it comes out, but I also don't like paying 300€ in 2017 for 720P games when I love 1080P in my PS4 too much and even want more.
I think this feels more like a handheld console than a home console, which is how I'm looking it at.
But it would be a huge disappointment buying it now and finding out later that most games are light versions or simple mobile games.
Temper your expectations power wise, expect just slightly better than Wii U.
Remember that's the compromise Nintendo has opted to take in order to make a handheld ...
Mario 3D World, Captain Toad, Yoshi Wooly World all looked amazing though on Wii U, so even if we only get slightly better than those it won't be too bad.
I've accepted now that if I want better graphics and the game is multiplatform I will just buy on XB1 or PS4 Pro instead.
Nintendo have us by the balls because if we want to play Mario Odyssey, then we have no choice but to accept the trade offs graphically (even though it would be amazing to see it in 4k with HDR and temporal anti-aliasing) if we want to play it ...
It's essentially the same choice / trade we had to accept with Wii & Wii U also.
The Wii sold extremely well, sadly however it was very much underpowered by comparison to PS3/360 and the initial momentum that drove sales from Wii Sports (a truly cross-over moment) never transpired into a strong software attachment, and because of its power inefficiency third party developers shoveled poor ports or dire casual game schlock onto the system ...I never invested in the Wii. Can you enlighten me where it stands today or did it flop?
Seems like day 1 patch does not fix joy-cons issues
How many of you guys played and finished Zelda Spirit Tracks? I was just counting in my head which Zelda game I finished, and just thought if Spirit Track. This was one of the odd ones as it was played with the stylus. I bought a long stylus just to play this game. It took a while before I got into the game, and I was hooked and finished it in probably 2 weeks.
Wind Waker which I bought twice (GameCube and again on the Wii U) and twice I couldn't get into it
Wow look at that, the iPad auto corrected and properly capitalized GameCube and Wii U.
3 weeks is a blink of an eye compared to the last time I turned on either of mine!
Therapy will do little for those who are hanging out here
I will hold out for Best Buy. Have some rewards and giftcards to burn. I have to believe they'll have extra units there calling out for me as I walk by tomorrow![]()
I think it looks good, same as Mario, but when looking closely I can see imperfections. Maybe not a big deal but it gives me doubts as to the future of the console and it's games. So you're disappointed in visual fidelity of Breath of the Wild?

Likewise (though I only bought two for my CDi) and for shame actually got some twisted enjoyment out of the Philips CDi as for it's time the animations and sound whilst laudable now, was really ahead of the game back then ...I've played and completed every Zelda game released, including the infernal CD-i trilogy.
I don't ask for PS4 performance, but c'mon, 720P games in dock mode in 2017? If Mario is indeed 720P that's a shame. I'm sure most games will opt for 720P too and we won't see too much 1080P games, and if that is the case I don't see much appeal to buy the Switch for games apart from the ones from Nintendo.

Played pretty much all of the Zelda's that were available to me and there are only 2 which I have never finished being Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Both ran out of steam for me within half a dozen hours ... And I HATE with passion the grafted on wiggle controls for attack and such.
I re-bought TP on GameCube after hating the Wii controls however replaying the first 6 hours or so felt like a chore rather than enjoyment, and even with TP HD remaster I had same block. That game just leaves me cold and by God I've given it enough chances at this stage ........
I would like to see Skyward Sword without motion control and some of its early 'filler' content revised so it's more paced rather than plodding ....
I couldn't get into twilight princess myself, but I got my son into it and he actually finished it, although he's a complete minimalist lol. It is the only amiibo I actually opened, out of my collection of 20 or so, to unlock that last "dungeon". That wolf amiibo unlocks wolf link in BOTW. Too bad he only completed like 15 of the caves, so not many hearts are saved on that amiibo.Played pretty much all of the Zelda's that were available to me and there are only 2 which I have never finished being Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Nintendo needs to stop making handheld flagship consoles.
Make a living room console that rivals or exceeds ps4 and xbox. Keep making Nintendo only games and opening up the esrb ratings. Let other developers make games for the console as well. Add a dedicated online experience for those people that love playing online.

So, who is lined up right now for the midnight launch? I'm out, enjoy your Switch![]()
BotW is a direct Wii U port, so it may explain why it runs at 900p docked, compared to the WiiUs 720p. On the other hand, Splatoon 2 and MK8 both run at 1080p as far as reports have come in so far, so I expect Super Mario to also run at 1080p.So Mario will be 720P?

The Wii was a huge hit, selling a tad over 100 million units, putting it in the all time top 5 console sales list. Only the PS and PS2 sold more, if we exclude portables.I never invested in the Wii. Can you enlighten me where it stands today or did it flop?
It is. Link was traditionally left handed, but since most people are right handed, they flipped everything for the Wii release, so Wii-mote waggling wouldn't be too ackward.I played through TwilightPrincess twice on the Wii. This was during the drought in the Wii's latter years. Thoroughly enjoyed it both times.... was actually contemplating picking up the GCN version, which is horizontally flipped(I think).
I really liked SS. It wasn't the best Zelda, but it has some lovely elements and puzzles. And I for one really liked the bad guy, and the portrayal of Zelda.Skyward Sword was rubbish, with or without the motion controls. The quintessential bad prequel: sluggish pace; shoehorned retconning plot; flinching, half-baked mechanics (Stamina fruit? Really?); absurdly bad character design (Bohmenian girl power Zelda, hipster gender-confused jester demon, Tremors monster as designed by Jim Henson); and a world seemingly devoid of anything to see or do, above or below the cloud layer, that wasn't utterly perfunctory. It really was the first time I realised that the Nintendo of my childhood was dead.
