Just snagged one at target! They had 2.

In sitting in the car right now I regret not buying both and sharing the wealth with someone.

How selfish of you. You could have shared. /S.

Good to hear you got one. They are sold out in my area.

They have been sold out since launch and was getting a garbage can for our bathroom at home and said let me just take a peek.

There they were. Hanging in all their fantastic Pro glory.

Plus 5% basically making it tax free and happy Friday!!

Haven't really played Zelda since picking up Skylanders ... even bought more Skylanders today :( that game series is like a drug :(

Love being able to play the full Skylanders game on a handheld but ...

Really disappointed that the game is actually running at 480p on the handheld and only around 640p docked. They are both LOWER than the Wii U version :(

It's certainly the lowest resolution game I have seen so far and I'm hoping it can be fixed with a patch.

How is the sky lander series? Got burned with Disney, kept having to buy newer versions of the game to use new characters until they finally just cancelled the series.

I commend those who purchased the Pro controller right away. That item is completely back ordered.

I see people posting this regularly. I was only able to find a pro controller at one place last Friday. However since then, I've seen almost every time I've gone into a store that carries them (except for Best Buy). Actually thought about buying a second yesterday when at Target. I haven't seen a Switch anywhere though.

Same here. We have every version of the game on the Wii U and maybe only missing a handful of the actual Infinity characters. My kids love it but the moment they canceled it I couldn't finish buying the rest. I'm not sure they've played it since I told them it got canceled. Can't decide whether to get rid of them or not now.

You know how Nintendo could have solved the whole scratching problem...

felt pads or a sheet that the screen rests against. At the amount they would have needed it would literally be pennies to the cost of the stand in the end.

I really like it, it's got that old school vibe gameplay wise, and it's really varied. Characterisation is great and it's just really good harmless fun. Turn difficulty up to expert and you have a game that can be almost as tough as dark souls !!!

Lots of mini games and puzzles, tons of replay-ability. And if you want a local co-op game you are covered too.

Biggest issue of course is that going forward we know they are taking a break this year from a new release, but question then is will they release a new game next ?

All five Gamestops in my area have zero stock of the Pro controller. And according to online query searches of big box retailers, they are also sold out in my area. Your location clearly will vary based on available stock.

Where I live, in Spain, there are a lot of Pro controllers and Switch units still unsold. Today I went to see it again and each store maybe has like 12-15 Pro controllers and about 15 Switchs.

I bought one on launch day. Found it after checking 3 stores. It was a must have for me as I don't intend to remove the joycon.

I would love to know the technical reason why the Wii U Pro controller won't work on the Switch. It has the same button layout save the capture button, which they could've remapped the power button for.

http://m.ign.com/articles/2017/03/1...-switch-screens-joy-con-connectivity-problems

Nintendo responds to the screen scratching and Joycons issue.

He says in their testing they never saw scratches, which I find hard to believe...

Yep an example of PR deflection at its best .... and pretty insulting to those many many users with issues.

Reggie's response was akin to him walking up to a someone who has cancer and saying to them, well I am fine, my family is fine, my friends are fine, so your cancer isn't a big deal and your probably making it up ..... No one would do that in reality, they would show compassion, but that is exactly what Nintendo's (or at least Reggie's) response actually does. It's just pure arrogant and ignorant in equal measure and treats those with issues like chumps.

Isn't the WiiU pro controller white? That might be why it doesnt work on the Switch.

I understand A, and agree that an improved kickstand would be lovely, even if it isn't as flexible as Microsoft's Surface.

I am struggling to understand what you mean by B. I have found the controllers to be relatively comfortable when holding them sideways, and as soon as we're done playing, we just slot them right back into the rails on the console. So I'm afraid I don't follow...
I am referring to the little plastic thing that attaches to the joy con

Yes Joycon are comfortable I agree with that, just that the little "extension" make the shoulder button easier to use, those 2 pieces should somehow attach to the console so you bring them with you ;)

Just another pointless post but wow, this is the best console I've ever owned and the best launch title combo. I think I'm still early into Zelda's story and I'm currently just exploring. It's all I do in my free time now. In the living room it's me on the big TV, with my partner playing it on the Wii U gamepad with posh headphones - because she's ahead of me and wants to relive some of the cutscenes on the big TV :)

I love that they keep slapping on the quality, I don't want to spoil anything SO I WONT, but each location I visited had a little feature that impressed me.

Normally when I play big games I will also have a palate cleanser, usually a little indie high score game. But with this I don't need one. I've bought a few indie games on Switch but have barely played them.

Which brings me onto another thing! I've bought Snippetclips, Blaster Master, Shovel Knight, that fast racing game, and some Neo Geo games. Each title has been great. It's easily the best launch lineup I've seen. I understand there's a quantity issue for some but what is there is great. I wish I had enough for that I am Satsuma game, and even Voez looks good despite it not being a genre I've been interested in before. I would have been happy with SOME form of backwards compatibility, at least with VC titles, but no hum.

I'm all out of words at how impressed I am with the Switch. I've used each mode, and it was perfect for all of them. 2 players with the device sat at the kitchen table made me realise how versatile this will be once full fat multiplayer games are released. Handheld mode with that colourful giant screen is divine - the controls feel hefty unlike the Vita, but lighter than the Wii U. By the second day I was all in. I bought accessories, a spare USB-C cable to charge it from my battery pack, a case, neon coloured strap/bar things for my dull gray joycons.

My worry with Zelda is where do you go from here? I have a similar worry for GTA, heh. (Gosh I hope GTAV comes to Switch. With Steep and Skyrim, and a new Mario, Pokemon, all destined for it, I'm pretty excited for where this will go)

Oh! And I realised what I love about Breath of the Wild. Other post apocalyptic games are so dull and tired, everyone's grumpy. But in Zelda it's much more varied and interesting. I've never cared so little for those big console games as I do now.
[doublepost=1489228950][/doublepost]
Yeah, all those issues have reassured me that I can wait with a Switch until Super Mario is released. Hopefully they'll have fixed them by then.

How is the emotional side of the game? OoT had a *lot* of it, and that's part of why it is my favorite all time game. Also, is there loads of memorable tunes in it, similar to OoT? No spoilers thanks. :)
Oh very emotional. I know what you mean too! The games since then have dropped in terms of story punch. But it's back for Breath of the Wild. I won't say how it's achieved because I'm really against spoilers. Just go into it knowing the story is a classic.

I'm enjoying the switch but really as a handheld. Whilst it's nice to have the dock, for me it's when docked I notice it's shortcomings.

But as primarily a handheld, i am really enjoying it.

Also when i consider the 3DSXL was €269-279 when launched here, €50 more for the switch isn't too bad.

In retrospect, what you expect Nintendo to say? They responded exactly how I thought they would. Nintendo does Not view this as a pressing issue where it's causing some type of widespread pandemic "Failure" (Keyword) with the system and Nintendo is not going to do anything about it. Aside from the joy cons, the scratched screen appears to be either those from not docking appropriately, as others have said they have had zero issues with scratching or they claim to be more gentle with it. So the results are mixed across the board. But then again, it also shows the lack of materials that were used with a plastic screen versus a higher-quality display which could've eliminated this concern in the first place.

Being this is a first GEN product, I look at it like Nintendo needs to take this as a learning lesson and continue to improve this with the joy cons and screen quality. It's just like any other first GEN product, it's suffers with technical issues or mishaps The gamers ultimately identify the issues, then flock to the internet to report it.

Lastly, if more issues arise or persist, then Nintendo better stand behind their product. Otherwise this would not reflect positively on a New Age console that they're hoping will set the market.

When I first read reports of scratched screen from docking, I thought it's caused by careless handling. At the time I assumed that it was a glass screen. Then I looked at mine and found the scratches, after only having docked/undocked a handful of times. The scratches on mine are very faint, can't even get it to show in a picture, but I've seen pictures posted by others that are shockingly bad. I handle all my gears with great care. Been using iPads with no screen protection and still looks new when I upgrade to the next.

I saw the drop test video of the Switch surviving 11 drops, which would've been impossible had it been glass, so I do appreciate that aspect given that my son has drop nearly every single one of my Nintendo handheld console.

I guess it's a double sided situation. Because you have handled your switch appropriately And yet you suffered scratches that shouldn't have happened based on how you handled it. Then again, as you stated, they're using a plastic screen, being that the Nintendo switch likely appeals to a younger generation, so if it's dropped, it won't shatter. They're obviously is a trade off in both situations.

I do think the general consensus is that if the dock was designed better, the scratches could've been avoided, even With the plastic screen, although I can see how it served its purpose for drops. And I also watched that video as well, it's survived 11 drops at 5 feet, which would have shattered the screen.

With all these comments that the Switch is better as a handheld device than when docked I'm having new concerns about its future.

I mean, can you really play games like Call of Duty, FIFA, Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Resident Evil and similar on the Nvidia chip? Maybe with lower resolution, obviously, but maybe it turns out to be a bad experience? If Zelda has trouble playing at 900P and Mario is at 720P and those games I don't see them as demanding as a big Call of Duty or Tomb Raider game, then what can we expect from future multi plats?

If they turn out to be a very low version of those games then the Switch will lose some of its appeal.

I want to buy it to play it mainly docked, but there's many comments saying people prefer it as a handheld due to performance. I would also use it as a handheld, of course, but my main interest was to have a Nintendo home console.

I saw most of the Nintendo games for its Wii U being 2D, so obviously for that kind of games they don't need too much power, but I would get bored easily with too many 2D games.

I agree 100% with everything you said. I think it is safe to assume that the 18-35?-ish fanboy gamer bro's aren't going to be into the Switch. That being said, anybody who wants a premium handheld would be interested in one.

I am curious about games like FIFA coming out, how different (read: worse) on the Switch they will be, and if people will accept it and live with it, or complain.

I had pretty much zero interest in using the Switch as a handheld, I really want stuff like Zelda to be up in front of me, larger than life on a widescreen. However, I had one of those "eureka" moments: I had to travel away from home yesterday, overnight (about to head back). I had just gotten a lead on some shrines/puzzles and realized, I don't have to drop it now and wait the whole weekend...I can bring the Switch with me! Got to my destination, and 1 hour & 50 minutes later I had knocked out 2 more shrines and still had about an hour of battery left.

I guess we will see if others value that experience as well.

I had zero interest in the handheld aspect of the Switch as I am just a huge Nintendo first title game fan and free up with them. I will say I don't see the huge degradation as many have when docked. Maybe I am just trying not to die as much as I am but I have a 70inch 4K HDR samsung and it looks beautiful.

That being said @blesscheese nailed it. I had to get some tires throw on the car today and had an hour and a half to kill and didn't want to stop playing BOTW and realized I didn't have to.

I will say the Pro Controller is so amazing that even though I brought it with me I brought the controller as well and set up on the table in a nice little corner. Was fantastic. I can see bringing this with me for waits like that and when a real good game becomes available for my 4 year old to dive in.

The controller just really opens the game up for me with ease of access to the menus inventory and moves if you will. Really expanded Zelda for me and I am fiending for a Mario game.
