How do you adjust the res to max? thanks

Usually, the game software has options for Trilinear/advanced lighting/widescreen/maximum images... etc... etc...

This computer's not dropped a frame on ANYTHING...

X-Plane 8.11 on MAXIMUM settings = just - WOW!
Call of Duty = PHENOMENAL!
C&C Generals = OUTSTANDINGLY FAST!
Railroad Tycoon 3 = NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD!

Haven't installed KOTR yet - will let you know...

Hey guys,
I don't have time to read the whole thread right now and do the maths, but can any of the UK members who have ordered and received stock iMacs from the online store - the 20" if possible - just let me know the total time from order to delivery?

Cheers,

BR

Thanks, Mauly. I'm just deciding whether to wait on the resellers getting stock or going for the online store. Looks like it'll be the online store from your delivery times; two weeks isn't bad at all.

and you have the option of six months interest free credit up to the 30th May with the Apple "Treat yourself" campaign in the UK... I'm still trying to talk myself out of a nice new shiny iMac G5 with an EyeTV... I'm currently failing miserably!

That was the clincher; Apple know me too well. I just have a mental block blowing £1200 in one go on a non-essential item - but paying over six months takes the sting out. Now if only Apple's marketing department could convince my wife...

Bought both - but as soon as I plugged my EyeTV 200 into the iMac, there was an acrid burning smell, and smoke started rising from the TV unit....

ARGH!!

Fried the board...

Luckily, no damage to the iMac. And equally lucky that the EyeTV's under warranty!

Better luck with the new unit...

Just checked my Order Status via the Apple website and it has changed to 'Out For Delivery' as of 14.50 this afternoon!

Tried the tracking number at the TNT website but I got a "No Consignment Found" page :( Weird.
Mine changed to 'Out For Delivery' today, but I can still not use TNT tracking and Apecode doesn't work. Frustrating! :(

I'm still in the same boat as you - and we're all frustrated - I think the the apecode not working means it's no longer in K&N's hands - perhaps with apple rather than TNT - I'm praying for Thursday now - although that means I will be at Star Wars wishing I was at home on the 20" imac. My mate got his at Regent street and I spent the morning playing on it - has it availed me of me frustration - no it's made it worse!

B-52, Jon,

Spoke to Apple to enquire about why the status was at 'Out For Delivery' yet I was unable to track it and they said that although it says that it is not with TNT yet thus why we can't track it.

The bloke I spoke to did say it should be 'Out For Delivery' on Friday of this week and I'm hoping and praying that it get's delivered by then. I can't stand to wait any longer, even though I'm not back into work until Thursday of next week.

PS.
Apecode works for me. This is what the last update produced:-

Date Actual Status | Code Actual Status | Status Description | Shipping Point | ETA

16 may 05 | 30 10 | departed direct | Apple Shanghai | 17 may 05

Bad news...

Well on an unrelated news, I have the first big issue to report on my new imac.

I updated to 10.4.1 without any problems yesterday (fixed permissions, etc.). Put my mac to sleep last night and I woke it up this morning to check my email. It waked up fine but when I left my computer I saw the display literally flicker. Then it even turned off, went back.. flickered went off and stayed off. I had to hold the power button to turn it off and then upon boot the display still didn't turn on. I had to tap the back and suddenly the display kicked in again.

Not a good sign. If it happens again then I will have to call Applecare.

Give them a call anyway, it might not be as ominous as it may at first seem and they may be able to locate the exact problem on the phone. Hope all goes well. :)

B-52, Jon,
Mine's gone 'Out For Delivery' too :D I was starting to get a little worried there. As you said, sounds like the handover period. Which means i can start tracking soon - I couldn't get the Apecode thing to work anyway - Do we get an AM/PM choice? :p

Hey hey! Seems like our iMacs are right near to one another! I am going to be trying to track via TNT's site every two minutes tomorrow, sad isn't it?!

I had a check via Apecode and it said that an ETA was the 17th so I would guess that would be delivery into the UK. I am so hoping it will be delivered on Thursday or Friday of this week. What a start to the weekend that would be!

But I am hoping Friday at the latest. The bloke I spoke to said it should be 'Out For Delivery' by then so if it doesn't come on Friday I will be bitterly disappointed.

Here's hoping guys.

Cheers,
Lee

Took it to the apple store in Bellevue who wanted to immediately swap it however they were out of stock. They called the Southcenter store and they had 4 in stock. Went there and they xferd all my stuff over and 90 minutes later I was out with an American iMac instead of a Shanghai'ed one. Thankfully the new one still comes with a WD hard disk and not a Maxtor.

Yesterday my machine also was delivered. What a wonderful beast, what a big screen, I think I even might need to set my desk height down. :D

Well it happened... My imac just went to shipping with an est time of arrival 1-5 days and I'm interstate visiting my girlfriend! Damn will have to wait for next week! AAAAARRRRGGHHHH!

I'm going to try and get the delivery changed to my brother's work.

yvovandoorn, remember you have paid for your warranty so you may as well use it. I had a slight problem with my emac (there was a general weakness with a monitor connection in the beginning some monitors died mine threatens to every now and again) and I never got it check out. It hasn't died yet but the fear is always looming. Don't live your life in fear mate, ring apple care!

Out for Delivery!

Mine is out for delivery! I'm very excited, and jealous of those US buyers who were much closer to the california warehouse than I was. Nonetheless, Queens NY is finally getting iMacs. Just my luck, it's my last day of classes.

Just spoke to apple - I was wondering why I couldn't TNT track yet - the lady said it was still in transit and not to expect delivery until EARLY NEXT WEEK!!!! This seems to be getting rediculous. Next time I'll buy at an Apple store for sure!

I use an EyeTV on my (rev. a) iMac G5 and I've been very happy with it. The computer is in the office, and there is no toher TV there - It does a great job playing double duty.

My remote control stopped working a a couple weeks after I got it, and their response was very good. They replied back to my email same-day and said they'd send out a new remote the next day. I had it two days later, simple as that, no questions asked. So in my experience their serivce is very good!

Im getting frustrated. I ordered my imac on the 4th, after two delays I got the shipping notification this past Friday. As of today, five days later, the furthest my package has traveled has been from San Jose to Sacramento. Ive called FedEx but they havent been any help. I think next time Ill just go to the Apple store to get what I need.

Woo-hoo!

I am now more optimistic about my iMac being here with me this week. Just checked my Apple Order Status and a new number had appeared, starting with 10. So, I quickly checked it via the TNT website and it appears that the iMac is now in TNT's hands as of today.

So, hopefully it will be delivered either tomorrow or Friday!

Come On!
