There I finally have my setup. Yes I know about the wires in the corner and they are as clean as it can be. Its quite hard trying to have it look clean when the hubwith 5 network cables, multiple power cables, speakers and etc.... i wish invisible wires existed (other then wireless!!)

Got the desk last week so there is still a drawer to the right I need to sort and put in the filing cabinet.

Nice! Looks sort of like my setup (I feel buried in monitors these days, but thanks to Synergy, my trusty Keyboard and mouse keep the peripherals at bay: just one of each connected to all of the computers without hardware!).

Did some easy investigation on the TNT site (using juggling with reference numbers) and it looks like Apple has earned a lot of money. The shipment from Shanghai to Arnhem got at least 114 pieces of which only 2 for the Netherlands (and most for Germany and England).

Most of the England computers are delivered out today I guess, as far as I've seen. Mine probably tomorrow. Some lucky bastards even got theirs on Saturday.

Lucky you mauly!

I've just recieved my invoice from Apple so I thought I'd check the order status because it must have changed but the last update is still from the 12th saying that it has departed the terminal at Shanghai.

This is so annoying.

IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE!

Just webcast the grand opening ceremony to my folks in Australia (they've got sheep's brains, but they appreciated the show anyway!)

Now, I've disconnected every conceivable device from behind the computer, and am about to power down to re-arrange the room.

As Bruce Willis says:

"Yippee-Kai-Ay..."

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

It's strange, but I feel angry that this day is a holiday here. I get no mail, no newspaper, no half an hour news journal on TV, and not my new computer. And the shops are closed.

Well, tomorrow all this is over I suppose.

Cheers mate. I did see somewhere that the ETA was the 19th. Is this for actual delivery or just arrival in the UK?

Well, I emailed my reseller to see where exactly the new iMac is.

And eight hours later, still no reply... :(

Prospective buyers: the online store is the way to go.

My GAWD!!!

This thing is FECKIN' FAST!!!

I've got my Cube connected up, and it's downloading all my old DV files via FireWire, and it's FLYING!

I even tried playing a few games (at MAX res., too...) at the same time - not an issue for THIS puppy.

For all you people waiting - you'll not regret your purchase!

I'm even in awe over the whole "ripple" thing - very chic, and not processor hungry either...

Enjoy!

;)

Wow that was one heavy box! :)

So far I've put a couple of cd's into iTunes, watched some dvd clips, installed Final Cut Express and have just sorted internet out! all very easy indeed, so far!

For me 20" is huge, why people are talking about 23" is beyond me.. I keep standing back and wow-ing about how big and cool it is.. very, very happy.

tho, I believe there is one dead/muted/faded pixel!! but I can live with this, can't see it if there's stuff on screen - if you no what I mean

Thats about as far as I've got!!! as an ex-windows user, I have alot to get used to - but will get there with your help. :D

Just checked my Order Status via the Apple website and it has changed to 'Out For Delivery' as of 14.50 this afternoon!

Tried the tracking number at the TNT website but I got a "No Consignment Found" page :( Weird.

First of all, this is my first post on these forums! :D

I've been using macs since the IIcx when I was 3 years old.. I just turned 20 now. However, in 1999, I've started using PCs as my primary computers for various reasons, although I've never ever stopped being a big mac advocate. :)

I just placed an order for a 20" iMac, and I can't wait to get it! :D

It just feels so great to be back to my home platform. :D

Note that I have never stopped using macs, and I'm quite advanced as far as OSX goes ;)

Another Aussie in wait......

I received an update today from my local Apple Store after placing an order with them for a 20" BTO within 24 hours of the new iMac's release. I was advised at the time that it will probably be 3 weeks.

Now two weeks on and my order is still "being processed" after Apple originally quoted them a delivery date of last Tuesday. Looks like I was given a good estimated ETA when I made the order. Has anyone in Australia received the new 20" iMac, either stock or BTO????

I got exactly the same response this afternoon for a 17 inch model. First it was three weeks, now it'll 'probably be here next week' but they then admitted that they actually have no idea until it actually reaches Australian shores. Otherwise, they have no way of tracking it.

After hearing horror stories both here and over at AppleTalk I decided that I'd rather be in charge of my own order, and ordered over the Online Apple Store.

Don't regret it one bit, not getting mistold information, not getting my iMac sold to other people prepared to pay more, nothing ... It's all me baby!

The lady on the phone did say that there are delays with the 20" models, and truthfully nobody even knows when they are available.

All I know is mine is either in Sydney now, or en-route to Melbourne via overnight courier!

:D

Mmmh

I ordered a 20' two weeks ago with a shipping date on the 16th of May. Received an e-mail this morning that the estimated shipping date was now on the 27th of May. A bit pissed off I decided to call Apple. They could not confirm any shipping date. I have therefore cancelled my order and placed an order for a "standard" 20'. The bloke I spoke with said that they were in stock in Sydney. Hopefully might arrive before the week-end....

Cheers
Ayla
