The Official "I'm waiting for my new iMac to arrive" thread

My order has been "replaced with new product" twice already. I ordered first thing on the 3rd and my order has been pushed to the 20th!

After speaking to Apple, I am told that "replaced with new product" only means the order is not ready to be filled and not necessarily anything has changed.

Clearly there is not enough supply to keep up with the demand, and how Apple is handling this, is anyones guess.

I just thought of something. When I ordered the imac I thought I ordered it with a 160 gig hard drive. Now its showing a 250, do I have severe short term memory loss or was this an upgrade?

Also, its showing its been sent to manufacturing, even before the email about it being pushed back came. It still shows that its expected delivery is the 19th though

anyone else out there in my situation? ordered a 20" w/ BT K/M the day the new machines were announced. the original order was replaced with a new machine (w/ the whole modem accessory kit thing) and now, the order has been stuck at "sent to manufacturing" for days now. it seems like everyone else either has their machine or is at the shipping stage. should i be concerned?

phoned apple a couple days ago. guess it's time to pick up the phone again. i'm in chicago.

Definitely! I wouldnt mind waiting another week for upgrades like that. I could have sworn though that my options for the hard drive were between 160 and 250 when I ordered it. Now its 250 and 400.

I'll be rather miffed if it wasn't on the Arnhem shipment. Oh, well - at least I've got 4 weeks off work, starting next Friday, to get to know my new "roomie".

Hey - I've just got TNT to email me automatically when there's a change in the shipment details...

It's all very easy - just go to http://www.tnt.com and follow the prompts to get automated emails.

Well - at least it's better than staring at a reloading page every 30 seconds! Ugh!

Maybe you last looked at specs before 3rd May (when they were updated). If you ordered on the "rev a" specs - you should be pleasantly surprised by the shimmering beast that will appearing at your place in the very near future

Mine has not made it to Germany. Arnhem is about 2 hours "Autobahn" away... I have no idea why I have to wait until next week?

Where are you getting all of your shipment details from? The Apple site or the TNT one? I only ask as my last update was on the 12th May, saying that it had departed the terminal at Shanghai. There's been nothing since and I'm kind of impatient.

I know when I ordered my Mac Mini I could track it via TNT and it provided me with more updates as to where my package was. I haven't been able to do the same with this order though.

Yeah, I have selected the correct one. I've even tried both and entered all the numbers I can see on my order status via Apple but to no avail.

Be sure to fill the 29-number as a consignment number or the 80-number as a reference number. Otherwise, I suppose your Mac was not shipped this Monday or Tuesday?

My iMac hasn't still been delivered, though I had hope when TPG Post (a sub-company of TNT (which does most of the mail in Holland) stopped at my door with a small van, but that was for some other packages.

It seems all post companies work at Saturday, except for the ones that you want to do so. Anyway, my computer has come on another track from all the other ones I guess (a Holland-specific track), because I suppose this one is not on your list:

I noted on the iMac box that it says "Computer Assembled in the USA" I wonder if this is the reason for the delays and change of numbers. Perhaps the initial stock was built in California and when that was depleted they started to ship directly from China. I was surprised when I saw this on the box bar codes.
