Well, ordered my 17 250G 1G RAM iMac 18 minutes after the US store came up.... still in "Sent to Manufacturing"... but is scheduled to ship on or before 5/10/05...... anyone else like me in the US? Could the 250G HD be hanging things up? Oh, I ordered BT Keyboard and Mouse.

Same here. Mine was stock except the 250G drive...I'm trying to deal with my lack of foresight...

Mine is still showing Sent to Manufacturing...and the Estimated ship is tomorrow (5/10/05) I called the Store and they said she couldn't tell me anything since it is not yet overdue. If I knew paying for shipping would speed up the order processing then I would have paid the extra, but they say nothing about shipping fees covering priority handling of orders which looks like has happened. Oh well, tomorrow is another day

I chose Overnight and I ordered on 6th. It is a 20" iMac.

However... tracking just finally became available and it looks like my package is straight from China. No way it will be here tomorrow as it has to go through customs. Damn that really sucks!!

It looks like the type of delivery chosen is Expedited, which is the cheapest form. Apparently I wont get it until Friday now. Man overnight my ass!!

Geeze...they must have underestimated the demand or never had sufficient inventory to begin with. I called the local LV store and they do not have any 20" iMac's, not even one to display. He had no idea of when he would get his first shipment. If mine goes to ship tomorrow and it is coming from China I won't see it this week for sure. That's a tough break for you having paid for overnight shipping.

 10PM in the Motor City.... and I am still typing on my POS HP PC.... the order is .... yes........ STILL in "Sent to Mfg" status. I called and they said it would still ship tomorrow. I have wanted a Mac since 1984 (I even worked for Apple one summer in Cupertino as an college intern), but I have never owned one.... I can't take the wait any longer.... if I go to the Apple store again during my lunch break they are going to have to call Mall security.... I am sure they are sick of me.....

Well apparently there is a form on Apple.com that I can fill out if my package doesn't arrive Overnight and have my shipping refunded. Believe me... I will definitely fill out this form as it was $46 and that now adays is a whole tank of gas!

Hmmm, I guess they ran out of iMacs from California and are starting to ship them direct from China.

Yeah, you should definitely look into that if you don't get it via overnight. Keep in mind that "overnight" only applies to as of the time of shipping (that is, the departure scan from China, in this case) and not from the time of the order from Apple's site. UPS is pretty bad at having accurate and updated information for international shipments, so it might be difficult to verify. Apple might also adjust the charge for the order in light of its inability to meet the requested timetable.

Well that will only work in my favor as China is ahead in time and it was scanned out the system at 9:43am local time on May 9th in China. Plus apple emailed me information that it shipped at 4:43am my time so overnight would be tomorrow (the 10th). I know it will never arrive in time due to the fact that it will be held up in customs for at least one day.

I personally thought it would come out of an US warehouse / distribution center.

Keep us updated! I'm curious how this will turn out. If you got a notice on the morning of the 9th, then overnight would mean by the end of the day today (the 10th). That's at least ~40 hours and I know that they can move it that fast if they need to (but I've authorized $46+ to overnight documents at work, so I can only imagine how much a whole computer would cost).

FAO: Monty77. When did you order?

Last wednesday .. was given a shipping date of the 11th but it ended up shipping last Friday.

Any update on Aus deliveries?
I ordered last wednesday night, a 17" 1.8 with BT keyboard and mouse, est shipping is still 13/5, credit card was charged yesterday, and as of this morning it is 'sent to manufacturer' for the CTO.

I'm hoping to get it by next wednesday ... is that too hopeful?

Please tell me the 17" is a good choice...someone

Probably. Are you tracking it through the Apple site?

I've hit my my tracking number at the order history page, which takes me to the shipment status page! problem is, there is no info below Activity, Location and Date / Time (GMT)??

Is apple slow to update this info?

Also, my iMac is being shipped by TNT, have been to the TNT tracking and have tried No: 802123**** and No: 2908884**** but it says consignment not found!!!

This is rather frustrating - not knowing were my baby is...

Again, are they just really slow to update??

I've ordered a few things from Apple recently ... TNT are crap, no idea why they insist on using them - must be cheap.
