The Official "I'm waiting for my new iMac to arrive" thread

I see some of you are getting new iMacs. I just got mine about 3 months ago. I am wondering if the performance is SO MUCH better that it would be worth taking a loss and replacing this 3 month old one. I use iPhoto, Mail, MS Office, Safari, iTunes, iMovie a little bit, and that is about all. I don't play games. I would like to know from anyone that had a Rev. A and now has a B or has had some experience on both to comment. Mine does not feel slow in any way, I am just wondering if they are going to blow my socks off compared to this one.

Ordered a 20" imac stock on Friday at 12:40 PM PDT with standard overnight.

That's great! I notice those who paid for shipping get their orders processed quickly, whereas those who select the Apple free shipping the orders take 5-7 days to ship. Seems fair to me.

i say NO. I have the poor 1.6 version and I just compared it with the new 1.8 version. No difference in speed for what I do. My friend just got it this weekend. Used iMovie and iDVD and i honestly saw no difference in performance. I went to the store and tried out the 2.0 and again no difference but I would like to see if iMovie/iDVD run faster. Also i'm curious about the encoding time on the 2.0 version. I guess we shall find out soon enough when everyone else gets their 2.0's and start reviewing them...
I ordered my 17" 2GHz, 400GB HD, Bluetooth keyboard + mouse iMac on Thursday, and there's not much movement. Apple Store (UK) says there's a 5 day delay, although I didn't order from them as it takes absolutely forever to arrive.
To be honest, I'm just being greedy in ordering it, so I'm not too impatient. But I'd rather it was here than sitting there waiting to be dispatched.

Well, ordered my 17 250G 1G RAM iMac 18 minutes after the US store came up.... still in "Sent to Manufacturing"... but is scheduled to ship on or before 5/10/05...... anyone else like me in the US? Could the 250G HD be hanging things up? Oh, I ordered BT Keyboard and Mouse.

I am in the exact same situation only with a 20" 2.0 model. Stock machine except for BT Mouse/Keyboard. It should go to Preparing for Shipping today and Shipped tomorrow with email notification. If not I will call the store and see what is going on. I selected Free Shipping and shipment on the site indicated in 3-5 business days which is Tuesday.
Personally I think the BT kb & mouse is that or free shipping.
It seems the way Apple's system works is that orders with overnight get priority and get bumped to the first of the line whereas those with free delivery are at the end of the line and are shipped in the order received. However any 2nd day delivery or overnight delivery get priority over these orders.

Since I received the Printer and AppleCare on Thursday morning (5/5) from FedExGround, I'm hoping for delivery by end of the week! Starting to get tingley all over!

I'm quite optimistic that mine will arrive tomorrow! have just noticed it is shipping from Holand. When I got my iPod mini, that arrived the day after it was shipped! and that was from Holand too....

However, Holland to Sweden isn't longer than Holland to England, so I hope it'll arrive some time this week.
I was just at Southcenter and they dont have the 20 inchers in stock yet. Tracking isn't available yet for my order.
