Anyone playing Skyrim become a Werewolf? If so, what do you think- besides kicking ass in a fight are there any advantages or overall is it more of an inconvenience?

It's a bit 'meh' the immunity to disease can be useful as can the movement speed/stamina when shifted, but decent weapons will always beat claws. TBH I only shift when fighting Vampires to roleplay that vampire/lycan Underworld feel.

You (human form) will not get bounty due to crimes committed as the werewolf. Do not transform in the sight of people though. It will be the slaughter not assassin when carrying out the dark brotherhood tasks. Personally, I do not like sneaking around.
Howl of Terror is the key to win the tough battles. Power attacks send meat bags to fly, including giants. Werewolf is fierce and fragile. You need to be power overwhelming with your strength and speed. Brutally attack the opponent and do not let he/she has any chance to fight back. Otherwise, you will be slaughtered. I tasted the blood lust in the beast form.
Skyrim is a so great RPG. It exactly gives you experiences, as well as the Ebony Blade, that pure dark sword let you struggle endless between the lure of power and the conscience.

Yesterday i crafted light dragon scale armor + daedric dagger (legendary) and it already feels overpowered. And I didn't even use enchantments. I am level 42 assasin/marksman.

Any advice on that problem? Are there any mods to make the game harder?

I founds one!!! :D

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1269

I'd be interested in the mod, especially if it gets to the point I'm unstoppable and I'm not even close to being lvl 100. I really like the difficulty of Dragon Age: Origins on nightmare as an example.

I've been playing Skyrim on master -- can't recall if this is the label -- the hardest setting available and it is a bit on the easy side at points.

I'm not even lvl 30 from what I recall though, so last time I played, I was still enjoying the difficulty.

The only advantages you'll see go are the resting bonuses...which aren't anything to write home about anyway. In fact, if you choose not to transform, the only change you'll notice about the game, is that some guards will tell you that you smell like a dog :p

That's about it. Other then that, Werewolves take A LOT of damage. It's cool for a while, but you need to be insanely careful because you can't heal etc.

Also, was it a glitch that the last time I transformed, I was still holding my Daedric sword to attack ;)?

Do Followers Level?
I found a discussion thread over at UESP which has a variety of opinions on this subject from NO, followers do not level to yes, they do and Lydia has one of the highest caps mentioned L50... more research is needed. Which Followers are the best fighters? Any thoughts?

Being of the magicka persuasion, I wonder if there is anyway such armor if enchanted could match typical magic gear?

Thanks for the info! I'm thinking werewolf is not for me.

Latest acceleration mod version
This fixes a scripting glitch caused by a typo. I'm very impressed with this mod, have seen huge frame boosts in places.

I'll have to try this. I can't get a decent frame rate for the life of me. I have mid 2011 i5 iMac (27") w/ the 2GB video card, and 16GB of RAM. There is no reason I can't run this badbow at native on medium with reflective surfaces off and AA at 2x. I should be getting more than 10FPS, right? Something is seriously wrong.

Are you running Windows or emulation? If Windows, yes, something is wrong. What's going on in Windows? How much space have you allowed it? You might want to try something like Tuneup Utlities which can be used to turn off background programs.

Its bootcamped, so not using parallels or anything like that. I'll try that utility, I ran other games to make sure it wasn't my system itself, every other game ran just fine. I might just have to re-install the game.

You should be doing better than that in bootcamp with your machine. I'm running it fine in Cider on an early 15" MBP with 1 GB 6750M on high at 1680x1050, except that I turned off AA and instead use FXAA (have anisotropy sampling at x4 though). I don't know the FPS but gameplay has been fluid, no complaints. I'm not using the mod.

I would try two things before messing with mods:
* I've heard that upgrading the video card drivers from the stock bootcamp drivers can make a good difference.
* What resolution are you trying to run it at? Native resolution for your iMac is 2560x1440 but you could still have a great experience on the game at a lower resolution, which should give better performance

As a general aside, for a good all around tweaking guide on Skyrim performance, I found this to be a useful and thorough article:

Somethings wrong alright, my 512MB 4850 can run this at native res on high and not drop below 30fps, you should be running it nearly maxed out.
Are you running the latest catalyst drivers? If not then get them here. Turn off AA, at 2560x1440 you don't need it, and set shadows to medium.

Sorry but I have to disagree here, non-native on a 27" can look pretty crap, better to have at full res with lowered detail then low res with high detail.

If other games are working properly, maybe a reinstall is in order? Honestly I don't know. The Tuneup Utilities is good for everyday Windows maintenance, however I don't want to give you the impression that they will fix your problem whatever it is.

I've gotten spoiled with my Flame Atronach which generally kicks mob butts all over. However my impression is that if you fight a fire wielding dragon, a Flame Atronach is not effective, true? Therefore I'd like to make a Storm Atronach, but I'm still trying to verify if they have a ranged attack? I picked up the following info online, link included. Once I've verified, this will go into the Skyrim Guide.

My Current Project: Summon a Storm Atronach. (like I summon a Fire Atronach).

My source: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/615803-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/61049326.

you can make the frost and the storm one in the College of Winterhold Midden there's a void shrine, you put materials in the box and turn the handle and it makes the tome.(i think that's what it's called, in the college of winterhold).

Frost: Frost salt, ruined book, frost mirram, ice wolf pelt (no ranged attack)

storm: Void salt, ruined book, deathbell, mammoth tusk.

And here I thought ruined books had no purpose!!!! But I think this makes a scroll good for one use only? My understanding is that if I get up around 50 in Conjuration, I can learn this from a Conjuration trainer??

However, this Atronach Forge Link says it takes less stuff to make them, however it says they are unbound and hostile. I'd like to learn how to summon the other Atronach's that attack baddies not me, like the Fire Atronach I learned to gain entrance to the College. Thoughts?

Right, scrolls are only good for 1 use. 50 in Conjuration should open up the trainer to sell you the spell tome. Using the Atronach Forge to create an atronach will only create and enemy one that will attack you.

EDIT: I just checked and storm atronachs do have a ranged attack. It looks like the lightning bolt spell. Also, you can use the atronach forge to create staves for summoning an atronach.

I have a couple of atronach scrolls. I guess I'll have to get conjuration high enough to learn it from a trainer to summon a friendly one. Thanks!

Skyboost

Apparently gives an even bigger boost then the Acceleration Layer and no need for Skyrim Script Extender either.

Is this a situation where game updates would break it? I might try this.

Possibly but modders are usuall pretty quick at updating stuff so that shouldn't be a major issue. TBH I'd be surprised if Bethesda bothered recompiling the game so it may well not get broken.

If you are serious about Skyrim Alchemy, this UESP.net Alchemy ingredients list is a great source, but my critique of it is if I want to make a health potion, I'd like to know all ingredients that have qualities as either their primary, secondary, tertiary, or quaternary effect without having to click multiple times to reorganize the columns. And in game, you only see the qualities of the items in your inventory. What if you need something you don't have? Well, I think I have something better. Starting with that table I organized ingredients by the desired effect so if you want to make a Cure Disease Potion, you can see in one place all the the ingredients that contain this property. I've uploaded it to Google Docs. Take a peak and see if it fits your needs. There are 2 pdfs, both required. If you are using a Mac, I've uploaded the original Numbers Doc and if PC, I have it also converted it over to Excel. Don't forget the Readme. :)

Nice!!! :)

I grabbed them and will put them on one of my tablets.

I haven't done much alchemy, but it's one of the areas I'm going to focus on after enchantment.

Ideally, I'd like the game to be balanced to a point, that I'll need to rely on potions just as much as magic and so on. I haven't had to use potions much, so I'm hopping the difficulty mods will change that aspect.

I can understand turning to guides and online help when you get stuck and it would be frustrating otherwise, but some aspects of the game should be left alone.

I think Bethesda have done a good job with actually making alchemy interesting as there is a sense of mystery and learning as you progress with this skill. An attempt has been made to simulate some kind of realism (as far as that's possible in a computer game). New potions can be acquired by experimentation and by buying or finding recipes.

I think people really should be careful not to take the fun out the game by using exploits too much. I've heard people mention bows that kill dragons with one shot. Where's the fun in that? Everything you meet is easily dispatched and treasure holds no value.
