LOL...really you have to get a new spiel....This agenda is getting old. Your "Samsung is copying Apple" mantra is really tired.

Apple has reversed and contradicted themselves on several occasions.

Remember when the 3.5 inch screen was the perfect size?

Remember when they would never make a 7 inch tablet?

But then when Apple copies you say "they were going to that direction anyway and it was a natural progression."

So if Apple puts 2GB of ram in the iphone 6s are they copying Samsung?

Maybe fast battery charging? Maybe wireless charging?

Lets face facts so you can stop hijacking this thread.

Everyone borrows from each other in software and hardware.

This done in all product spaces all over the world.

Smh ok. I know what Steve jobs has said. I get it. They all borrow from each other. Yup. Yet u seem to feel like the latest Samsung moves aren't influenced by Apple at all. I disagree.

It's probably a smart move on Samsung.

I've already said I wish Apple more ram and either quick/wireless charging. And Samsung had a nice feature where u could use wifi and cellular to speed downloads. Yet T-Mobile was the only carrier to allow this, the others blocked it.

Exactly ...... I said similar earlier.
True. When you break it down, you see that the lack of SD Card support for speed, makes no sense at all. It's all about the money here, because even Sony and HTC where able to add SD card support. Samsung could have easily added it to the GS6, but they chose not to, and speed and performance was not the reason. As you said, professional cameras have no issues recording into SD Cards, and those bitrates greatly exceed that of smartphones.

We'll have to wait and see what Samsung does now. Last year, the Galaxy S5 Active made no sense, this year, a Galaxy S6 Active would make perfect sense. Rugged, larger removable battery and an SD Card option. If this isn't released, I would be worried about the Note line.

I currently have the Note 4 and I don't plan to buy another phone until the end of 2016. Spending $600 on the GS4 and then $800 on the Note 4 is good enough for now lol. I thought my next phone would have been the Note 6, but seeing what was removed from the Galaxy S6, I'll sit back and see how things develop.

If there is no Galaxy S6 Active and the Note 5 takes the design cues from the Galaxy S6, I may be looking at another company for my next phone. Hopefully Project Ara takes off and with a lot of support.

If performance was really the reason, removing the ability to move apps to the SD card would fix it (this feature was added by Samsung and is not included in android itself fwiw). There are really no negatives on android using SD card for media.

Didn't Google reverse this position themselves with lollipop.... SD support is back officially.

Yes they allow apps to write to the SD card, but you cannot 'move apps to the SD card' like in settings -> apps. The app itself must reside on internal storage. Most of the time apps utilize that first function by writing media to the SD card. Like google play music, or downloaded files from a browser or something

We can agree to disagree.
Samsung is not following Apple by removing the SD card or removable battery in the S6.
They made phones for years that did not have those features. So it is something they have done all along.

So why have marketing bashing these things?

And the hp jack on the bottom and speaker grill? The headphones?

Yes we can agree to disagree

I guess it's marketing ploys like all companies do. The same as Apple with with large screens and 7 inch tablets.
Headphones on the bottom.... Is there s patent on headphone location? Will you come back and call Apple out when they add 2GB of ram in the 6s or wireless charging?

You understand that Samsung bashed these things up until this year right? No sd slot, no removable battery, hp jack on bottom, they as a company criticized these things through marketing. . Now their flagship phone has all these things, speaker location moved from the back to the bottom too. Glass like the iPhone 4. The fingerprint reader is now a press like Apple. Heck the setup screen is almost a mirror to apples Touch ID setup. And also now the headphones. And again I just read that the s6 has a protruding camera lens. Is this true?

Really, 2 gig ram is a weak argument and u know it cuz ram is a basic configuration of all smartphones setup. It's not design or software. I'll give u credit for wireless charging if it makes u feel better.

I'm sure the s6 is a great device but to say it's not taking cues from Apple is just ignoring the pictures.

Did apple copy that phone? It also has a 4.7in screen!

Maybe. Does the nexus also have EarPod like white headphones, fingerprint sensor, speakers on bottom, no plastic, protruding camera lens?

Is that true btw? The s6 camera lens protrudes like the iPhone 6/iPod touch? The criticism on this was monumental on the iOS devices.

I think it's funny that just about every site has remarked about the s6 similarities to the iPhone yet I'm being treated like I'm the only one who sees it here.

Again I'm sure the s6 will be improved over the s5. Competition is good. We all benefit. But there's overwhelming evidence that Samsung followed cues from Apple.

Your agenda is really showing now. As other have pointed out Apple takes design cues from Android.
Android has led the smartphone worldwide. Apple has slowly copied the market leader. Even with larger display phones. Look how vehement SJ was on how the 3.5 display was perfect then Apple is not only in the large screens but in phablets as well. Then the whole never going to make a 7 inch tablet? C'mon.....Apple marketing does exactly what you say Samsung is doing and you know it.
If 2GB ram is a natural hardware progression...then so is the headphone jack on the bottom. So is the speaker grill and little round holes to let the sound through. I mean what shape were they supposed to be? Samsung was criticized for the speaker on the back. So they moved it to the bottom. Geesz.

I don't recall seeing anyone make fun of the headphone on the bottom. Just no SD card and removable battery. Then they have produced phones like that for years. So you're still coming up empty.....

LOL at the protruding camera claim....man you are really reaching now.....
Was Apple the first to EVER have a protruding camera? Did they patent that?

Then as others have pointed out in other threads Apple blatantly copies others. Like the HTC M7 that won phone of the year in 2013. Before this Apple had not made a phone that looked like this. They even went on to take Beats!!!

I'm sure Apple has taken cues from android. Never said they didn't. But this is Apple and Samsung.

Lol ok my opinion and most every website that's noticed the similarities must be wrong. So be it smh

The reason Samsung ditched the sd card and removable battery, along with their waterproofness, is money. Apole has known this.

Yes, the S6 has a protruding camera lens just like the Galaxy S2, S3, S4, Note 3 and Note 4 before it.

The Note 3 speaker grill was at the bottom, so whats your point?
The Galaxy Nexus headphone jack was at the bottom like 4years ago, so again, whats your point?
The Samsung Omnia 7 didn't have a MicroSD slot from what I remember either.

Its quite funny to read this thread as the overwhelming majority of the things that are seen as things taken from iPhone, have been done long before, Samsung build such a vast amount of phones and have such a rich history in this industry, and have been known to change direction if they feel its time to, and with the S6 they did that, the same way Apple suddenly built a tablet with a smaller display, an iPhone with a bigger display and a phablet. Get over it.

So what? Why ignore the elephant in the room. Didn't Apple bash phablets? That whole speaker on the bottom resembles the iPhone is the weakest discussion ever, even if true who the F cares? Go look at an HTC phone from 2 years ago and you will see the iPhone 6.

I'm confused why people like you spend so much time trying to prove everyone else copied Apple. I'm sorry but a person has to be pretty daft to think the S6 looks like the iPhone 6, look at pictures of them side by side and other than having a screen and home button and the stupid speaker on the bottom they look nothing alike. Just to punctuate the hilarity of saying they look alike I'll post them side by side again.

Agree to disagree. I'm not gonna re type everything again. I'm not the only person who sees this, amongst multiple websites and sources. But hey we all have opinions so be it.

I still feel that Samsung changing their flagship phone to remove the sd, removable battery, and waterproofness is for money. Money on storage upgrades, battery replacements, water damage replacements, and ultimately people upgrading sooner. It's about money, and I associate Apple with leading this business practice.

Samsung Galaxy S5 was more of the spiritual successor to the S4 Active.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (with sd slot) is more of the spiritual successor to the S5.

If you want sd slot with a nice design but lower specs and no glass rear, get the A7.

Samsung's Alpha series really is catered for the midrange market but was one of the first to offer the metal band among Samsung smartphones.

Samsung have never commented on the position of the headphone jack. They made fun of sealed in batteries and non expandable memory but never headphone jack positioning. The cameras on samsung devices in the past have protruded. It's never been close to flush since the S3 (that protruded anyway). The S4, S5, note 3 and 4 all have protruding cameras.

I see that in addition to the fingerprint sensor now and the new headphones that look like EarPods.

I get it they all borrow from each other. Samsung spending all those years bashing iPhone then turning around and adopting them while dropping their own is especially ironic. I'm sure the s6 is a good phone. It'll sell. But the Apple influence is evident, both in design and business principle.
