You are. Just the phone and stylus needed and nothing else. Stick the free delivery label on the packaging on the outside of the blue bag they sent you.

If you decide to send via special delivery then still stick the freepost sticker on the bag (as this has your customer reference number that Samsung will use printed on it). When you get to the post office just tell them you want to upgrade the delivery to special (cost me £8.15). They'll do the rest and give you a tracking number.

oh wow thanks for mentioning that the freepost sticker has the reference on it! I wouldn't have taken that with me I'd have just used special delivery. phew!

Hi did you receive the phone then received a return package a few days later as I dont have anything to return the exchange as of yet?

No everything came with the phone being delivered. The box contained the new s24 ultra as well as a return bag and sticker to use for postage for the trade in.

The return box to put in to the bag is the same one the new phone comes in. It’s one of those boxes that you can open to take your new items out and then reseal to send return items back.

No worries!

I’ve got to admit their instructions for sending the trade in aren’t super clear and I did have to email them to make sure I was doing the right thing myself.

Went to a wildlife park today and got to play with the camera. Impressed with the remove reflections function.

Has anyone worked out a way of turning off the 'OK' confirmation after entering your pin?
Followed all the guides online, but looks like it's not in the usual place.

Im not sure that works any more since oneui6/android 14....

It used to be that you could indeed confirm pin without ok but I THINK that is only an option for 6 digit pins now :/ ( ie. that click box only appears if you enter a 6 digit pin)

annoying tbh
Ah just tested and you do indeed need a 6 digit pin not to have the use the OK confirmation. Mines only 4 digits. Odd, as was worked fine on the S23U.

I'm all for foldables but just couldn't trust the build quality on the Fold 5.. Bought it twice and returned it because of it's fragility ( to me at least ). Never felt confident using or carrying it without a second device as backup.

Plus, the lack of dust resistance and built in S-Pen didn't help either!
Sounds like you're confusing 2 different phone types a d models. S-Pen is only built in with the Ultra series.

The Fold 3-5 models have IPx5 dust resistance! It's water resistance with officially tested and support that we're waiting for in ANY Fold model from any manufacturer.

Also Fold series is the ONLy foldable with IP rating in water or dust!

Whoa, Samsung keyboard got good when?!
Giving Gboard a run for it's money here. I love the key press sounds and the customisation of it. Also, the text prediction and correction is top notch!
It is VERY good not just in typing (tap accuracy), but with swiping and suggestions as well as Grammarly support within (user toggle switch).

Also I like having an ever present numerical row at the type ans split or floating key options both on device or via Dex. Lastly built in connection to SamsungPass for logins.

yep especially the ever present numerical row. I'm sure I could somehow get it on the iphone with gboard or something but that's something I really miss when not using android... and to have a minimoan, although there's so much that's great with apple, the we wont do a proper right mouse button, we wont have a numeric row blah blah is what really hurts the experience for me. It's always we have to learn the apple way rather than having the options... anyway I'll shut up now cos it's not like we don't already know all that :)

I'm actually super intrigued by this phone but it just seems a bit big for my taste.

Perhaps I should get the smaller S24 or S24+?
Agree. Ultra is better suited to those with sasquatch paws imo

+ is essentially the same size as Pixel 8 Pro and a nice balance between screen size, same processor as U, more battery than base model, and UFS 4 too!

So (surprisingly), I ended up ordering a regular S24...
It arrived today. I was in the office and expected it to just be rescheduled for tomorrow but as I got home from work, 5 mins later the delivery arrived. :D

I figured, I have a return window.

The last Samsung non flip / fold phone I tried was the S10? So it’s been a while. What intrigued me was the design and the fact that there’s a telephoto camera in here. I’d normally always choose the smaller device where possible, but these days it’s impossible when the smaller device is gimped. Well, not here, seemingly. Sure, the Plus is a little better on paper with the better screen and battery etc, but I thought I’d see how far (if at all) Samsung has come since I last dipped my toe in.

I’m currently still in set up phase. The device is nice and light and I like the sqaured off edges. It does feel a bit sharp at the front, so it’s not hugely comfortable vs an iPhone but it‘s not a deal breaker. It’s also really light which isn’t a bad thing, but being used to heavier devices it’s a little jarring. I really love the design.

I already don‘t think I can look past Samsung‘s UI. I just don’t think it looks very nice. I’m not going to keep stock though, and see if I get used to it. Looking forward to seeing how the camera stacks up and also having Dolby Atmos on an Android device but will see if I end up keeping it. I’d be v surprised if so, but I wanted to at least have an informed opinion and as I say, I do favour a smaller device and this is a really nice size.

Will post my thoughts after a bit more use. Also keen to do some camera samples Vs the Pixel / iPhone, but conscious it may not be worth it as most of you here are all in on the Ultra (understandably)!

Use the ProRAW & ProRES photo and video mode settings when you want some real quality on the S24. Pics I originally taken on my S23 V's discovering Pro mode dramatically increased the quality going Pro mode.

Now THAT is the right colour way to get!

Super pissed I start new job 2wks later than originally planned so I loose out on my $100CAN eVoucher. Is it possible to transfer to someone else?

anyone going to use the S24U as a secondary (or primary) along their 15Pro Max?

At the moment it's my primary phone, took my SIM card out of my 14 Pro Max. However when the 16 Pro Max comes out,, my S24 Ultra will probably be downgraded to my second phone.

I have the S24U and 15PM and P8P and switch back forth between them

Wow this is beast mode right there 😂, I admire you for being able to keep 3 phones going. At the moment my S24 Ultra is my main phone. The 16 Pro Max will probably change that tho, when it comes out in September. I like the look of the Pixel 8 Pro, but I couldn't use all 3, especially since I use a smart watch as well.
