The "Ships: By May 7th" information thread

Just by the fact that it has not shipped, even if it ships today, it looks like it takes 3 days after it ships before it leaves China, so I imagine those of us that were told it will arrive on or before the 12th will not get it by the quoted date.
 
WOO HOO It made it! My iPad came from Anchorage to Indianapolis, to Ann Arbor all over night. I should have it in a few hours.

Same here, although it stopped in Romulus, MI...now it just has to make it over to Marshall, MI!! Either way, I have a feeling many apps will be downloaded today! :D
 
Right, mine went through Romulus also. Our iPads were on the same truck. They are brothers! Lol. God, it's going to be a loooooooooooooong day at work.
 
mine finally changed from "not yet shipped" to shipped at 3 am this morning. Estimated delivery on may 12 by 10:30am via FEDEX.

We'll see if it makes it, because the first exception shows that it was picked up after the cutoff time, but it does show leaving the origin facility.

Now, since it is FedEx, and it has to go through TN, what are the chances that it will be delayed due to the flooding up there???:confused:

:rolleyes: leaving china is not as big of a deal with customs linke entering a country and by the way it took less than 4 hours to enter Alaska and get shipped to Kentucky. If you read Chris and my post it had to do with given a delivery date and missing it and then no new updated delivery date. We were not calling asking "why it has not shipped" it already shipped and Apple gave a delivery by date.

Yea, don't bet on it. I remember the WiFi launch, my iPad arrived in Eastie at around the same time, and I never got mine till the Monday after launch even though it was here that Sat. Morning.

I was wrong - It's on the truck, out for delivery.... Damn FedEx can move stuff quickly when they want to.

I should have it in the next two hours.

See what happens if you don't pester Apple and FEDEX about where your ipad is? Smooth sailing.... Sure glad mine wasn't in the same shipment that kept getting taken offd the plane to verify it was still there. :D

Ordered 3G 32GB on 20 April.

The good news is it looks like the flooding in TN isn't affecting the FEDEX hub.
 
Geez, I think mine got downgraded to UPS ground service. The driver is probably sitting at the Bering Strait, waiting for the next ice age. Fortunately, delivery is still scheduled for last Tuesday. I'm guessing that they've hired Hiro Nakamura to make these deliveries. Not quite sure how I'll arrange to be present to sign for it tho...

What day did you order?

I ordered mine on April 30th, 3pm. It's been stuck in "Prepared for Shipment" for 3 days now... :(
 
What kills me was that a few hours after it went into prepared for shipment, my turn on the waiting list came through and I got a call saying I had one ready for pickup. Unfortunately I don't need two, and I couldn't cancel my prepared shipment (lame), so I had to decline it (more lame). And then they don't even ship it for a few days? (Even more lame.) Gah.

Super excited though. Hope it doesn't get offloaded mid-way through the trip like some of the others (sorry guys that must have been tough). The wait is killing me.

Well they said ships five to seven days. If I lop off the day I ordered, this is the seventh day.

I got mine too! Once it got to AK, it took 10 hours to be delivered in NC.

My kids told me they would take it away from me if I didn't go to sleep last night, lol
 
ugh... ordered mine on May 1st, 64gb, today is 5 business days so hopefully it will at least move to prepared for shipment today or tomorrow
 
Mine arrived at 9:30am this morning. It was waiting for me at the office when I got here. I have been charging it up off my Mac mini and installing apps on it all day. This device is just too cool! I installed that ABC player app and watched an episode of V and then downloaded some wallpapers. I haven't yet activated the 3G service for it since we have WiFi at the office. I'm typing this on my iPad right now! Just so excited that it's finally here and I am really enjoying it!
