Same exact situation here. The last straw was when I went to plug it in in the car and my wire wouldn't fit the hole for the headphone jack. I guess I'm sticking with the Otterbox.

If you're connecting to the AUX input in a car you should be using a Dock->AUX plug anyway... much better audio quality than the headphone jack

This ******* sucks, I was waiting all this time and patiently knowing I was going to get a damn good case, BUT NO Freaking Speck just threw their reputation in the freaking can and i'm getting a POS, and totally turned off from buying anything EVER from speck.

Freaking Lame. I rather wait and get a quality product then a useless POS.

I guess I'll be looking to buy a case now instead of waiting for my sweatshop walmart quality pos.

**** Speck.

Really disappointed with this case. All the previous reviews showed great tactile button response and a nice tpu material, not this hard plastic like crap. Why did speck have to f this up.

Speck's director of design development told me they are looking into this with their factories (they had to bring in additional suppliers for the demand) and will respond shortly.

Nice to know, keep us posted. Maybe they'll offer replacements.

Speck's looking into it. With luck they'll stand by their customers and replace it. They asked me for a photo, and the product code inside the case, so they can figure out where exactly it was made.

I emailed speck and they said they were going to ship me a brand new case. Great CS so far - they could have easily blown me off but are going the distance to try to fix what is obviously a design flaw in this new case.

Of course, the replacement case won't arrive for another MONTH, but what can you do...

Impressive.

You people sure are picky for a cell phone case. It's doing the job of protecting the phone. What more do you want diamonds and gold on it?

But the IP4 is not just a 'phone' is it, worth around £500, so you have to pick up something decent to protect it and everyone has their own wants and needs of what type of case they require.

Also anyone from the U.K recieved their OHD yet, how is it and if it the crap model have you e-mailed speck about it??

I just received my case as well. It's really stiff. I never owned a Pixelskin HD, but I did notice that now it says "Made in China". My two Candyshells were Made in Taiwan. So definitely they are making these cases elsewhere. I'm worried that my replacement Candyshell will also be Made in China and with lesser quality as well. :(

So Speck are trying to shift the blame over to their manufacturers and saying they did not know? Yeah whatever Speck, you try and pull a fast one then insult our intelligence when we notice. Fess up Speck, you sacrificed the quality to max out the profit. The Internet has a long memory, I would never trust another Speck product because you just don't now what you will get after your order.

I've edited the title of this thread to reflect that Speck has some official explaining to do. I'm hoping one of their reps comes to this thread and explains what is going on.

Asses like you should have their computer removed.

Just stating a opinion. No need for the harsh comments. Its a cell phone case, what more do you want?

I know you want good value for what you payed for, it's understandable but as long as it protects the phone, I don't see what else you could want.

Also I typed that post on a iPad lol

I understand that, but every case reviewed on this board, someone has something negative to say about it. Has there even been a case reviewed here that the majority of the users approved?

Hah well I'm sorry but that opinion isn't valid. You can use that argument for ANYTHING? Did you buy any luxuries for your car like leather seats or navigation systems or what-have-you? Why? It's just a car for getting from A -> B.

If you pre-ordered an item based on the information about that item, and then when it arrived you found out that they'd CHANGED said item, and it wasn't what you originally "purchased," you'd have EVERY reason to be pissed!

You're missing the point! The case WAS amazing, and Speck just went and CHANGED it! THAT'S what we're pissed about!

Do you not understand that different people have different needs and tastes when it comes to things?

Nevermind I'm not getting a heated argument over something like this. I had a few complaints from the first few iPhone 4 cases I owned.

I actually do like the speck, but hate the hard buttons and it's very hard to put on without ruining the screen protector.

I e-mailed them also and they said they will ship a replacement case. I asked if it was going to be the original pixelskin with the tactile buttons and great tpu feel/flexibility, just waiting to hear back.

Just got my case in the mail today. What a piece of garbage. It might as well be hard plastic. There is very little give to it. I could barely get the phone in the case. Once I did the screen protector immediately bubbled up. The volume and power button do not seem to move. Just hard. Ugh.

The case was near impossible to get off. The edge that goes around the screen is sharp enough to cut your skin if you slid your finger across it hard enough.

Case is absolute garbage.

I was having a nice conversation with Erik from Specks customer support and he was all about sending me a replacement. He knew it was from the apple case program and everything then all of a sudden his attitude seemed to change and the last email I got from him after half a dozen other ones telling me he wants to send me a new one was pretty much "yeah, we don't do exchanges."

This was on Friday so I emailed him again to find out why he just stopped answering me and I guess we'll figure out how they are going to handle this.

And to every trying to be self righteous about "it's free, stop complaining"... People like myself who have been a loyal Speck customer for years now are just a little upset that they decided to go cheaper on us just to save a few dollars, but in the log run this is going to lose them a lot more money due to customers jumping ship to a company who isn't seeking cheaper, crappier case material.

I'll ditto what everyone else saying. Emailed Speck's customer service and they're supposed to ship out a replacement in the next week or two or three. We'll see if it's any different.

Not to mention it's a FREE case and people are comparing it to a version they didn't have in the first place.
