Just got the PX HD through the free program today and I think it's the new good one.

Oval camera cut out (still has flash problem I think), new kinda glossy back and easy to press keys.

All good but I'm sticking with the Casemate Tough because of the greater protection.

Although the PixelHD is less bulky, the Incipio feels better in the hand. Also the sides move more on the HD than the NGP. Both cases are good, just prefer the NGP.

I had the one from Walmart as well and it didn't seem to fit well on my phone (maybe it was defective or something). It semed to click when I pressed in the sides and that bothered me. I just ordered a black one from AT&T so hopefully that one will be a little better. I love my Pixelskin HD but it's a tad flimsy and it bubbles my screen protector from time to time (the NGP did not).

Spphd41

Got mine from apple a few days ago. SPPHD41. Oval cutout, buttons on side feel flexible.

Didn't bother to put it on; I like my otterbox defender too much.

Emailed Speck today and they said I should be receiving it today. Hope it's waiting for me at home.

emailed yesterday to check on the status of my replacement. was told that they were all out black, but like others on here, got the option to select another case that's in stock. i went with the blue HD.

speck is really going above and beyond here...especially for a free program. i'm sure apple threw a ton of money at them for the program, and now they're trying to correct the bad batch before it turns into a PR nightmare. very impressed. will buy their products in the future based on this.

Laphd51

OK, now this is weird. I just got another one in the mail today (I didn't ask for a replacement).

LAPHD51

Oval cut-out. Side and top buttons feel MUCH stiffer than the other one (SPPHD41) Stiffer overall than SPPHD41, also shinier and not as nice feel. Almost certainly made from a different material.

SPPHD41 seems nice, but just not to my taste vs otterbox.

LAPHD51 feel cheap and crappy. Seems like it could make the buttons unusable.

Exterior codes on boxes are identical.

Got my replacement case today!!! Has the oval cutout for the camera, it's nice and flexible, unlike the other one that was a hard brick, it's easy to get the phone in and out, and the buttons are very responsive. Great job speck.

The crap case was LAPHD211, new one is SPPHD121

Just got my 3rd one today.

First was the really solid case with the unpushable buttons, oval cutout. This was LAPHD211

Second was the flimsy case with the easy buttons and keyhole cutout. This was CMPHC112

This one is the flimsy case with easy buttons and oval cutout. Like yours it is SPPHD121

What I'd really like is the material and cutout of the first case, and the buttons of the 2nd and 3rd cases. This doesn't seem to exist though so I guess I'll be using the 3rd case.

It's not bad or anything, it's just the first case was significantly more solid and felt like it'd protect the phone better and was snugger on the sides as well as less flimsy on the bottom cross-piece above the dock connector. I still like the Pixelskin HD better than other cases I've seen for this model phone.

Overall I still wish somebody (other than the insanely huge otterbox defender) made a case with an integrated screen protector for the 4... I still miss my Griffin Wave from my 3G... slim case, polycarb protection, and a screen protector held in place by the case rather than adhesive.

I couldn't stand the material of the first case. Felt cheap to me and was an absolute pain in the ass to get the phone out off. I'm happy with the new one and props to speck for shipping these out no questions asked. Unlike ****** incase service.

im getting a replacement pixelskin also. right now, i have the one with the oval cut out but the buttons are hard to press & the case is hard to get on & off. (LAPHD12(1). after reading some comments on the newest replacement-- does it really give you the feeling that the case is not made as well as the first pixelskin hd for iphone 4? the reason why i'm asking is b/c i just dropped my iphone with my pixelskin about two hours ago on my driveway ..pretty decent fall.. and thankfully nothing happened.

Yeah, that's just it... the hard to press buttons case feels like it'd protect the phone better... that's why I'd hoped to get a replacement that felt the same but had easier buttons.

It IS hard to remove, but why would I want or need to? It's on there for a reason.

Harder to remove also means harder for dust to get in via the sides too, which are looser on the "easy buttons" versions of the case.

They have been offering to do that. In fact, when talking with Erik today about replacing my PixelSkin from Apple (the crappy version), I was told that the PixelSkin HD in black was out of stock and wouldn't be back in for a while. He told me to just pick from any case listed on their site that had the "add to cart" option (meaning they are in stock). That's when I took the blue PixelSkin HD instead. But he was going to let me pick anything, including CandyShells (I specifically asked about them, but I already have 3!).
Received an email from "Eric" this afternoon and he basicly said that they will not exchange the pixelskin HD replacement cases for any other type (ie. for a Candyshell like I wanted to). So I will have to wait 1 - 3 weeks for the replacement and that I can't exchange it for another case that is in-stock.

Wow, that is a change. I've communicated with Erik for over a year now with various things regarding Speck, and never had a bit of trouble in having them do anything to satisfy customers. I just spoke with him again in email today to thank him for sending my replacement CandyShell and PixelSkin HD (he actually dug up a black new version for me, even though they are out of stock!) overnight. In our recent convos, I do know that he has said many times that they (his customer service dept) are swamped with defective PixelSkin HD and CandyShell warranty fulfillment, and that sometimes plans get changed from the higher ups above him, and he and the others that actually interact with the customers get the unfortunate job of relaying that info to them (us). For instance, the whole long, constantly delayed issue with replacing the defective CandyShells. He's told me a few times that he hates having to tell the customers it'll be "1-3 more weeks" over and over, but that's what he's told to do. So I'm sure if he has said he can't do it, then it was out of his power, because in my experience with him, whatever he can do to satisfy customers, he'll do.

My replacement (for the apple freebie) HD arrived yesterday. Now it's the case that I had originally expected, a definite keeper. Even nicer than my Walmart incipio NGP. Thanks, Speck for a great case and for great customer service.

Got my HD yesterday and used it for 24 hours. It has less bulk than the NGP but I already switched back to the NGP. Why? The edges on the HD move too much causing dust to accumulate underneath. The NGP stays put with much less movement not allowing as much dust underneath. So even with the additional bulk (just a bit more) I like the NGP and will use it until something else catches my eye.

I love the PS HD as well but after about a weeks worth of use, mine too became a bit loose and the bottom lip began to sag. It sagged a bit more than I liked as the area of the screen it covered became completely exposed. Still love the case but it seems they may have almost gone too far on the flexibility of this case. I am trying an SGP Ultra Slim now and love it. Not nearly the protection but the closest I have found to a naked phone.

I'll concede that the Pixelskin HD is also a great case. I just got my revised version yesterday, and it's so much slimmer than the Candyshell. And of course, the buttons feel like they should! Also I think it looks much nicer w/ the matte plastic and the design on the pack than the glossy (and scratch-prone) plastic.

I still think the Candyshell is far superior in terms of protection, and I think the rubber part that rises above the screen is amazing. It's nonslip, so I can put my phone face down on things without worrying it'll drag around, although it does stick to the inside of my pocket sometimes.

Why can't speck make a "slim" Candyshell? Or a PS HD with a rubber interior? Best of both worlds!

I have a black Candyshell (oval cutout on the back) and I prefer the Pixelskin HD because it's thinner and it doesn't show scratches like the Candyshell. They need to change the outside of the Candyshell so that it ages better. I used mine for about a week or so and it got all sorts of scratches on it. I understand that a case is made to protect your phone but does the case really have to look like crap after such a short period of time?

Agreed. I also think the CandyShell is the best overall case for those wanting to balance style and protection, but the glossy back stinks! I've been having email discussions with Speck about them designing one with a matte/soft-touch back, as I think it'd be the best possible finish for the case. That way it wouldn't scratch and look like total crap after a week or so of use. They have added this finish to other case lines of their's in the past, so I don't see why they can't do the same with the CandyShell.

I would love it if they could make the outside of the Candyshell similar to the Pixelskin HD. I know the Pixelskin HD is TPU and the Candyshell is hard plastic on the outside but I can already tell that the Pixelskin HD will age very well.

Just received mine in the mail today, was expecting it sometime next week. But I got the SPPHD121 and it's not bad. I currently have a shield on the back and sides of my iPhone so the fit probably isn't perfect, but it's not bad. I also have an SPG Oleo and so far it hasn't bubbled at all.

Did anyone who got a replacement for the one the recieved via Apple get a dispatch email when it was sent out, or did it just turn up?
