Yup my PixelSkin HD looks great, too, after 16 months on my iPhone 4.

Definitely curious to know if it will work with the 4S I have on order. Otherwise I hope Speck will release an updated version for the 4S. I'll be first in line.

That great, my pixelskin HD not so good. The plastic ring that goes around the camera cracked. I don't know how it cracked because I never dropped it or anything, but it cracked.

I'm going to try out a SGP Linear Crystal in Satin Silver now for my new 4S.

I don't really see how that ring could crack, personally. It must have been subjected to stress of some sort, but who knows? My case looks like it did 16 months ago.

Yeah it might have pushed in or something while it was in my pocket and cracked. It was fine the entire time and it cracked about a month ago (I've been using it since I got it for free from the case program). :(

Overall I am very satisfied with the case. I accidentally dropped my phone on concrete once from about 3.5 feet and it saved it. I know without that case it would have shattered. I would honestly buy another one (if it's available), but I am kind of tired of the look now hehe.

Well it lasted long enough if you want a change of phone-case scenery! I'd like to try something new, too, but I've found nothing that does it as well as this Speck case does. *sigh*

William! Our OP!

I remember pushing you to fix the title back on this thread way back when...

We may need to "push" Speck to remake these now to fit the 4S with a new thread or another topic change. ;)

Haha! I'll be in touch with Speck if this doesn't fit, for sure! Didn't think I'd see this thread revived, but the case is worth the attention of people who want something that just "works."

Yeah, for some reason I've been slinging and dropping my iP4 all over the place, last few weeks ..... no damage whatsoever.

I got the pixel skin with the antenna problem when it first launched. To this day it's still my favorite next to the apple bumper.

Looks like Speck has revised the Pixelskin HD for the iPhone 4S:

Note the oversized camera/flash cutout.

Did these cases become more expensive? I could of sworn when I first bought one for my iPhone 4 they were only $19.99

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

Are these available in stores? Best Buy, Walmart, Target etc. ?

I don't know too much about cameras, but I do know in order for flash to work appropriately, the light it exposes to the subject has to be re-captured back into the camera.

Thus, with the new Speck 4S, they must have realized the pictures weren't coming back bright enough or something, thus the larger cutout.

I wish it came in white.

Edit: It does come in white (trim), have to buy the Burton style.

I had this case for the longest time but to me it's boring now. It adds too much bulk imo BUT i did drop my phone a few times and nothing happened.

Got one with the case program. Ended up having to get a replacement from Speck because the PSHD had started to stretch pretty badly and was really loose and kept pulling the screen protector up. Replaced it with a Speck SeeThru Satin, and now i'm going to have to get it replaced again due to the rubber flaking (similar to how the rubber on the CandyShells flaked) and the button of it snapping.

Sigh. Thinking of just getting something else.... thoughts on anything similar? Thinking maybe the switcheasy trim?

Crikey, that's a big cutout! Not sure why, since the camera hasn't changed in physical size on the back plate from what I can tell (internally it's changed).

Way too big. I really think these case companies are trying to con people because the iPhone 4 cases should work for the 4S.

Yes. The new camera has a wider field of view so it's likely it captures the edges of the cases cut out (vigneting).

It does? I hadn't read that. Just that the aperture is larger, not that the focal length had changed. I guess we'll have to wait till the phone is in peoples' hands!

----------

Actually, what you're saying doesn't appear to be true:

"The new lens has a 4.28mm focal length and f/2.4 maximum aperture. The combined sensitivity of the sensor and slightly larger aperture should give the camera a one stop advantage in low light. As we noted previously, the new focal length is slightly longer than that of the iPhone 4, more akin to a 35mm than 28mm, so shots in tight spaces will be a little trickier."

The cutout should not need to be bigger, in this case, from what I can tell. It depends on how much physically the aperture has enlarged, which is still offset by a slightly less wide-angle capability....

Again, we'll need to wait till Friday. I'll test it then. :)

Regardless, I'll be expecting & getting the redesigned case as I don't want my mute switch offset to the side of its cutout.

I'll giveaway the old case with my AT&T iP4.
