Guys. It's not a cheaper one. Stop being so bitchy. All they did was make the camera hole bigger so it didn't interfere with flash and made the actual case a little more tough. It's not that big of deal. Calm down.

It's actually a huge deal. One of the best things about the rev. 1 was that pushing the power button was so, so easy, and the same with the volume buttons. Now that tactility is gone. :(

Oh come on it's probably not that bad. So you'll have to press a little harder to push a button. Not a big deal. Plus I thought the guy in the video said it was only with the sleep button.

I use the sleep button ALL the time. In fact, it's the reason I bought a whole new case! To some people it's a huge deal. Me included!

*Cop voice* Sir, Im going to have to ask you to calm down.

Seriously, I used to Candyshell for the iPhone 3GS and the sleep button was also very stiff. You get used to it after a few hours. It's really not that big of a deal lol.

Just got off the phone with Eric from Speck. He said he's not sure if there are still "older" Generation cases around but he asked me to shoot their customer service department an email and they'll take care of me. It's either going to be them shipping me an older Pixelskin HD (already have a GeoMetric and I love it) or have Apple swap it out for something else, like convincing them to send me a white bumper :)

Anyway he's the email address, send your concerns over to them.

you are complaining about a free case to customer support and want a new one? wow, and I thought I had seen it all on these forums... :p

I'm sorry but your reasoning is false. If someone offers to do a service for me, say: mow my lawn, for FREE, I expect the same service as if I'd paid for it. If it was going to be crappy service for FREE, I'd just as soon have paid for that service instead and have it "done right."

Then go buy a case from ebay. It will most likely be the older version. Problem solved. Your welcome

run n' tell that, homeboy

That's rather beside the point, is it not?

It's exactly the point. You just said...

So just go and pay for your lawn service... err iPhone case

No, see, that doesn't make it right NOW. I'm saying if that is how it's GOING to be, then I'd rather - in ADVANCE know this, and then I can decide how to proceed. I'm sure there are a lot of people in this thread that would rather have picked a better case than the Rev. 2 Pixelskin HD.

I also received the new revision through apple's case program. I have emailed Speck's customer service regarding my concerns with the usability of the case. I will let you guys know if I hear back from them.

Not sure why this confuses you.

Here, let me make it clear:

Basically, people were expecting a quality product, i.e. revision 1. Speck changed their product quite significantly. Therefore, it would have been nice to know in advance that the product changed. Then people would have picked something else, no doubt, or found the case elsewhere. Lots of people are feeling like they wasted the case choice on something subpar.

These cases aren't "free" like some of you are saying. Speck is getting paid for them by Apple so it's not unreasonable to expect some level of customer service. What, did you think Speck/whomever was paying for them out of pocket?

Like the guy above said, Speck didn't notify people they were changing their Pixelskin HD - it would have cost them orders and therefore $. They advertised it as the "Pixelskin HD" that was out before and got $ on that basis.

Ok. heres the thing. Every case manufacture are in the midst of changing their cases so they don't interfere with the flash. This was destined to happen. Some people will like that the case is more firm and won't get dust inside as easily, Some won't like that the buttons are a bit harder to press. It's still a good case, and it's still free (for most of the people)

Exactly. If I had known that it was going to be so different from the first HD, I definitely wouldn't have wasted the free case selection on it...not that there's any cases in that program that are worth a crap anyway, but still.... Thank God I have one of the original HD's...if I can now just get it back from the friend I let use it until his free case comes in.

haha true, that even makes it funnier!

i just looked at the kid's twitter listed on his sig and he seems to be a negative debbie downer so it doesn't surprise me :D

And Sleazy seems to fit you perfect so it works out. Enjoy your sub-par life.

I got my speck hd case in the mail today and it's really hard to press the sleep/wake button. Anyone elses like that?

I dunno about clicking, but my geometric has some wiggle room sometimes. The ngp matte is super tight though :)

I have an NGP also and I like it but I like the Pixelskin HD better because it's a little less bulky. It definitely clicks when I squeeze it though, almost like the case is too loose and I have to squeeze it so that it locks into place.

None of you guys with the "old" version of the HD feel or hear clicking when you squeeze the sides of your phone? Try squeezing up and down either side of your phone and tell me if you notice that.
