Tricky Activation Question:
Bought from Verizon, however not going to use Verizon as service here in the US, instead, I will be using ATT. Also, more importantly, I will be using the phone all over the world later this year.
Do I still need to activate with Verizon during 1st boot in order to make sure the phone will permanently be UNLOCKED?
or forget about everything, just pop in the ATT SIM during the 1st boot and toss the Verizon SIM for good?

I know a bunch of you guys snuck in there. Glad everything worked out. I guess that’s why we randomly check ‘just in case’. I missed it by mere moments. Once I got to the order confirmation page, the confirm button had been grayed out. But it was for sure a page I hadn’t gotten to in my previous attempts and couldn’t replicate it after.
Glad it worked out... hopefully for everyone else.

Yes, it comes with a SIM. No, it is no different. Verizon is supposed to be waiving activation fees. Seems like you have to get in touch with a CSR from Verizon and they will credit your account $30.
Yes the X will come with a SIM installed. Your old phone and SIM will be deactivated once you turn on and activate the X.

I feel better that I'm not the only one. Could be because the facility is so close. And 256 SG was the most popular it seems.
Some of us who caught the midday have been talking with each other. All of us have been charged and shipped with arrival date 11/3/17. It worked out and the orders were not cancelled. Kudos to Verizon for their integrity in honoring the orders. I bet next year at the launch of the so-called iPhone X Plus everybody on this forum is going to be checking throughout the day before launch!

Same thing happened to me. I was almost done then it grayed out. Still got the order in before midnight though! On the confirmation screen, it said delivery by 11/03 but I didn't get the email until 7:52am and it said delivery 12/01, so I was nervous all weekend. Worked out fine though, my package is waiting in Memphis and hopefully I will see some movement on Thursday. Good luck everyone!

What state are you from? Mine is currently sitting "at local fedex facility" in NJ. I am a little confused because I thought "at local fedex facility" meant that it is somewhere near me(I live in Michigan).
