After days of anxious waiting and worrying, I finally received an email from Verizon saying my bank blocked the credit card transaction, wanted me to use another card. That was expected, I was so eager to place my preorder I forgot the card I entered hasn't been used in a long time. I just upgraded the payment info with a different credit card that I normally use. Hopefully I get the shipping info soon.

I just mentioned the facts. I'm not on contract, no current or future monthly device payments, paid full retail, $30 charge to basically just swap sims, etc...

Thanks. I'm in the same boat - except I have 3 x $30 charges. Need to get these refunded.

Same here. Are they crediting your account or payment method you used to pay for the phone? I paid full retail price with the $30 upgrade fee added to my total. I just used online chat and got $30 bill credit

Credited my account, in fact it's already off my current bill. I opted for the payment route...been with them since 1998!

My card just got charged :)

You think I can get the upgrade fee waived for three people if I’m starting a new family plan with this order? What’d u say to get the fee waived?

I asked their twitter and they make it sound like the $30 I spent on the upgrade fee is something I was supposed to be charged for......

Idk why everyone is always so bent out of shape about activation/upgrade fees. its part of upgrading a phone. now if you buy a phone outright, and you're already on a postpaid plan, then you shouldn't be charging.

New device payment or lease? Yes, you gotta pay that fee.

People with 11/3 delivery but still no charge/shipping what state are you in?
I’m in New York and patiently waiting. I’m thinking some time tomorrow evening and a shipping notice Wednesday morning. This is how it went last year. Good luck to you

Anyone else still hasn't received shipment yet? Mine still says processing, but will deliver 11/3.

I would not say bent out of shape, however if I recall the fee was there when they subsidized now that subsidizing went away why did the fee not? But of note one reason for it i was able to locate is "It is used to cover all of the free services we provide to our customers." I wonder what these free services are? Not trying to start an argument just stating what I have read else where.

However I fail to see the difference between buying outright and carrier financing, at least with financing they have more of a chance to have a person as a customer longer, buying outright from Verizon there is nothing stopping someone from switching, not that, that would make much sense.

I just called the 611 number and it said my order was pending shipment and should ship by 11/3. The app says deliver 11/3.

In my case, it was because I was told the fee would be waived if I did the pre-order through the app rather than the website. I was then charged for it anyway. Had I not been told that by Verizon, I never would have even thought about it.

app still says ship by 11/3, but processing and payment charged! Here is hoping for delivery 11/3.

Ever wonder why it’s “part of upgrading a phone”? We pay for service already. The registration process of a new device is done automatically. If upgrade/activation fees were removed then we could all change devices at will without worrying we are tied to a timeline of upgrading.

Plus, Verizon advertised on their site that upgrade fees are waived. Other reps have said that to promote the Verizon app, they are waiving fees for ordering from Verizon directly instead of apple.

Order confirmation at 12:07am pst for a 256 silver. Delivery/ship by 11/3 date. No charge yet. :(

Location code is P175401. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Call Verizon CS, don't mess with Twitter. I called yesterday and got credit for my $30 activation plus got an additional $10 credit. I told them I forget to use my $10 Device Dollars.

Bent out of shape about paying a $30 activation fee? You damn right I am. I already pay Verizon $60 per line plus taxes & fees for 2 phones. I activate all my new phones through iTunes and transfer everything over myself. I'm not sure what Verizon is doing that they need to charge me $30, but I think it's ridiculous. I've been calling every year to get my activation fee credited. If you enjoy paying it, have at it!

I agree. I paid full price for the phone. It's on the same line, and all I am going to do is swap the sim from my 7 into my X, and that sim is already activated. Exactly what am I getting for that $30?

Mine shipped today. Which is very odd. Previous years I haven’t seen anything until Wednesday or Thursday. So I’m not sure I would worry just yet.

Same here for the 7 plus I got a tracking number Thursday morning for the Friday delivery. You guys have an 11/3 delivery...you’ll get it 11/3
