Idk why everyone is always so bent out of shape about activation/upgrade fees. its part of upgrading a phone. now if you buy a phone outright, and you're already on a postpaid plan, then you shouldn't be charging.

New device payment or lease? Yes, you gotta pay that fee.
Because it was advertised the fee would be waived with upgrade and then everyone was charged.
 
Mine shipped overnight. (Silver/256) Friday by 3p via FedEx.

I do need to look into the 2x $30 fees. (Upgrade fee & “accessory”)

I’m on the payment plan.
I told the rep that one of their store employees told me I didn’t have to pay the upgrade fee and she credited my account.

My silver 256gb has charged and shipped. I got my tracking number! I’m now comfortable to cancel my 256 sg back up order for 11/3 delivery. Hope that helps someone here!
 
I guess I'll be standing out in the cold at Verizon. I think a let Verizon Wireless screw up. I got an email Sunday at 5:34pm stating the order was on hold. I called in, the lady said that they needed a credit card, I gave them the credit card number again. They ran it 5 times and it didn't go through.
They place me on hold, came back after 5 minutes and tried again, then she got her manager involved. She said I could either pay for the phone in full or they could cancel the request, then put a "jump the line" request in. About 10 times she said I wouldn't loose my delivery date of November 3rd. She said if I didn't get a tracking number by this afternoon to call back in.
So I let them. This morning the new order shows December 1st. I called Verizon back up and they said they showed "jump the line" request in in place and I should be good.
12:30pm, my card gets charged, and shows pending, and then I get an email "Thank you for your payment".............Still not a single tracking number.

So I call back into Verizon at 9pm and said hay what's up with this. The lady says, we're out of iPhone X's and it will be December, I said, so basically your telling me an Verizon Employee lied to me?? So they transferred me to 3 different people and they're all just confused.

So I guess I'm going to be, bundled up and at Verizon at 5am to stand in line. This is CRAZY! I never in my life have had this issue.

Does anyone have any experience with this "jump the line request"?

I'm going through this too. Jump the line put in Saturday at 4 pm and still not a word, searching my new order still shows a 12/1 delivery date. Very frustrated, the smoothest pre order ever has turned into a big headache. One person on here did tell me it worked for them last year and that it took a couple of days.
 
I used the jump the line request for the OG 6 plus and eventually ended up getting it launch day. If I remember correctly I didn't get my tracking # until Thursday night. Only advice I can give is to be extremely friendly and persistently call in and ask for a manager right away until you speak with one that sounds like they know what is going on. I probably had at least 20 calls into Verizon that week.
 
Got my tracking information over night! Was charged for it yesterday afternoon! Silver 256 ordered around 2:58 est! I hope everyone gets theirs on launch day! Take care see you all next year

256 black 2:10am confirmation Shipped this morning at 6:17am central time. If anyone is still in pending you can call Verizon and have them call Apple. They can verify that your order will be filled and delivered by 11/3.
 
By the way, reviews are out today! Go check out the TechCrunch review where the guy takes it to Disneyland. Pretty good read. The Verge and others have reviews out already as well.

edit for the lazy: interesting tidbits I've read so far:

- if you have attention detection enabled, your X can automatically dim the display when you look away to save energy usage, and revert back when you look back at your screen
- the X can automatically decrease the volume of alerts if it knows you are using it so that you don't have full blast alerts going off in your face
- attention detection can be turned off, meaning Face ID will unlock your X whether you are looking at it or not; it just needs your face
- passwords and other autofill information just automatically appears on screen if you are looking at your X

I called this morning to clarify this shipping info. I was under the impression I would receive it Friday the 3rd. They said it will ship by. Most likely receive Monday. I ordered at 12:01 on launch day. Sucks if that’s what happens....

My shipping on the order paged is stalled at processing and will ship by 12/3. ORDERED SG 256
 
I had a 9:22 am CEST (3:22 am EST; I'm currently in Europe) confirmation email. My 256 SG finally got charged some time this morning and happily woke up to see it finally went through. Also just got notification at 6:32 am EST that my phone shipped out of PA, with an 11/3 delivery!

Was finally able to cancel my Apple Store pick-up order I inadvertently placed at the same time...but was too nervous to cancel either one until I got word one way or the other on the Verizon order.

They've been saying that the whole time for me as well. As I was speaking with someone last night I was charged. The rep's manager also mentioned that distro centers are still receiving shipments from Apple, hence why there are waves of charges and shipments being completed. Be patient...you'll get your phone on Friday.

YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT I AM BENT OUT OF SHAPE, $30 for what? such a criminal ******** charge if u ask me, theyll always waive it but theres always those people who dont to either look at their bill or ones who dont care, they are the people vz targets, bc they know a lot of consumers arent smart

I'm sure this is the case, but it frustrates me that they are (seemingly) assigning the incoming X's to random orders. Many people with later order times have been charged and their X's shipped, while others (like me) ordered almost 30 minutes before them and haven't seen anything yet. What's the rationale for that? Should be first-come, first-serve basis.

I don't mean to bring this up to whine, just saying that it's weird that they don't (again, seemingly) have a structured methodology for getting these orders out.

edit: I know I will get my X on launch day. I have not contacted Verizon or my bank. I am being patient. Frustratingly patient.
