Went through a text chat on Verizon.com to try and waive the activation fee. The first solution presented was a $20 credit to the account. After pushing back a bit they conceded that i was a valued customer and that they would credit the account for the full $60. The individual I spoke with was not familiar with the advertisement.

Your attempts might lead to a different outcome but its worth a try if you've been with Verizon for a while.
 
My ship date is 11/10 and my card was just charged and now Verizon changed from pending to processing and it says we're getting your order ready. I'm hoping being charged this really means I'm getting my phone on 11/3 but they haven't changed the ship date yet so I guess not.

If they are charging you today, I'd expect it is shipping soon. Good luck!

mine was ordered 10/27 (3am CST) and until yesterday set for 11/10 delivery (64GB space gray). this morning it went to shipped and is now due for delivery by Friday 11/3. Currently on hold with FedEx for delivery.

on the annoying part: even when logged into my FedEx account I cannot "customize delivery" for hold at FedEx shipping center (?). I guess I'll work from home Friday to avoid that "we tried delivery and will do another attempt by x" BS....
 
Anyone who got charged last night receive their shipping info yet? I have a 256 Silver that was ordered at 3:26a EST, and had an 11/3 delivery. Amex stopped the charge and I got the fraud alert, but I cleared it an hour later and had the payment go through. Hoping that doesn't delay the shipping of the phone.
I was charged Monday early afternoon and didn't get shipment info until 8am the following morning.

Verizon SG 256, original ship date was 11/15. Just looked on there website and my ship date dissapeared and it now says "Your order is currently being processed. Please check back later." My CC has not been charged yet. Anybody else seeing this?

What?! *rushes to check ap and website*

Edit: Nothing... Drats! Maybe by end of day or tomorrow if they’re truly getting to the 11/10 and 11/15 people soon
 
So of course I just got an email from verizon that my card was declined.
In the email was a link to resubmit payment information, which I did after calling the credit card company.

Now when I check my order status on the web it no longer says 11/3, or any other shipping/delivery date, just "processing".

Anyone else experience this?

My ship date is 12/1 but should I wait until I've been charged on my cc or billed?

I think this is annoying too. I called FedEx to see if they could hold it and they said it wasn't allowed per the shipper.

yeah - Blue Nile (when i ordered wedding bands) was the worst - FedEx HAD to attempt 3 (!) failed deliveries before they held it at the shipping center for pick-up. Nothing they could do. Highly annoying

If fedex attempts a delivery on Friday and nobody is there, do they attempt again on Saturday or will it be Monday? I'm pretty sure it will be Monday though.
 
I just called. I can't track the order since I'm not a current customer, yet, but she confirmed what it shows on my confirmation email: activation fee charged on first bill. My total to be charged is $120. She said once I activate the phones, I'm welcome to call back to see if they'll waive activation fees, since I'm switching from Sprint.

I can't say how much of a pleasure it was to talk to people who actually speak plain English. I'm not prejudice at all, but it's rare to talk to anyone at Sprint who's actually in the USA. It's frustrating when they can't quite handle your issues due to language barriers.
Interesting. Glad it worked out either way. I recently switched from AT&T, and I have absolutely loved Verizon so far. I have always had extremely helpful reps who were friendly and efficient. This is both on my personal account, and on the Enterprise side. The service has also been way better, so hopefully you have a positive experience as well.

FedEx won’t deliver Saturday but you can pick up on Saturday if a) you missed an attempted delivery and b) if the local hub is open for pick-ups on Saturday. You would just have to take the door tag they leave and valid ID. When the 8 and 8+ came out, my mom’s 64 SG 8+ was missed at 10am (door tag was left but our Ring video doorbell never went off and we missed the guy by 2 minutes >.< ), so I went to pick up the phone that Saturday morning from the station with no issue.

No charge yet and mine still says “pending”’on the app and “processing” with visible ship by date of 11/15 on the website
 
I can attest that I was able to get a credit on my account via support chat online, but had to be persistent about some things.

First of, the rep I had didn't know about the promotion and was looking for it online, and I simply said that it was being promoted online during the iPhone X preorder that upgrade/activation fee would be waived (because now it is nowhere to be seen online) - this being the reason I ordered through Verizon rather than Apple.

Secondly, the rep I had was trying to say that typically, these fees would be credited on your next billing cycle (because they assumed that I haven't been charged the fee yet). When I told them that I was charged the upgrade fee during preorder, they went ahead and credited the $30 to my current bill, which knocked my bill down $30 less this cycle.

You just have to be persistent when explaining it to them as some of them don't have all the info.

Edit: Strange you got a closer ship date when we ordered the exact same model.

So, was just checking trade-in values for phones at Gamestop and it looks like in anticipation of the X, they’ve increased the value of phones. This is what I’d currently get for a cash trade in for my 256 SG 7+

meh... Verizon is offering me $290 for my 6s plus 64GB.... that's more than gamestop

This gives me hope! I had 11/10 delivery but my CC was charged last night. Order is showing as processing currently so I am hoping it gets shipped today and I will get it Friday.

amazon sells that phone as certified refurbished for $729 (...) on ebay they go for $600+

sorry - $480 for a one year old (back then top of the line) iPhone plus is NOT a great trade in value... game stop likely will flip it for $100+ profit PER device.....

Ok... To me it’s an excellent deal. I hate dealing with eBay and Amazon holds no meaning for me. For instant gratification and money in my wallet, it’s acceptable. My phone is paid off and I’m still getting a decent chunk of change for it. I’m not concerned with what profit GS makes once my phone is in their possession.
