On apple.com, if you go to iPhone X choose Verizon and choose "Pay In Full", it doesn't ask you for your account details. Will this change on release day?

I have the exact same question. I plan on paying in full and would love to avoid going through all the account info if I do not need to.

Correction: it only works on Tmobile (just tested with iPhone 8). Tmobile doesn't prompt you to enter account info. I'm guessing it works, but it also is not CDMA compatible.

Correct. T-Mobile phone only works for T-Mobile and AT&T in US hence it is not a universal phone.

Yes it will. Once you progress to the next screen, that is where you will have to input the Verizon account details incl last 4 of social. You can test it with the iPhone 8. X will be the same

For a midnight pre-order isn't the website a better option because you can get to the iPhone X selection screen and then just keep on hitting refresh/F5 until the option to move forward with the purchase goes live. On the MyVerizon app, don't you have to keep opening the app, navigating through a few steps to the Iphone X and then closing it out and starting again until go-live? Isn't the website refresh quicker?

Might be right. I think I’ll have both ready to go. I’ll use the website to refresh and see when it comes online then switch to the app to do the process.

Do they both go live at the same time though?

Last year with the iPhone 7/7+ the Verizon app opened up like around 8PM for 5 minutes for pre-orders and then it no longer allowed pre-orders till 12:01. If Verizon makes the same mistake then its possible to order early.

I have put my name in one of Verizon authorized dealer's iPhone X pre-order list (Payed a deposit of $141 + tax). Is it safe to think that they will do all the pre-ordering? I am wondering whether to pre-order myself using apple store app.

From the looks of it, if you’re on an installment plan you have to go through the Verizon app. If you have the IUP then you’re fine to go through Apple. But from what I see as well as a couple other members here have found out, if you’re doing carrier financing, you’ll have to go through the carriers site or app.
I’d recommend making sure you have the My Verizon app downloaded and a card saved on file.
Hope this helps answer your question.

Thanks for the info! The only thing I’ve now realized though is that you can indeed choose Verizon upgrade program for the iPhone 8 on the Apple Store website...that + in-Store pickup could be the quickest way to check out... can someone tell me differently on this, or is this the best way?

I think it’s the best way! I just double checked and you’re right!

I'm planning on purchasing the iPhone X on a Verizon Installment Plan through the Apple store app. When paying with the Apple Store App for the taxes and the upgrade fee during pre-ordering, does the payment card have to match the account card on file with Verizon? Me and my roommates share the same account and it's on my roommate's name and social security number (which I have access to, no problem there). I have a debit card on Apple Pay with my name.

I went through the iPhone 8 ordering process and got to the screen where I place my finger on Touch ID to confirm payment, but naturally didn't press it because I was just trying it out. Should I experience any issues after I press confirm payment next Friday with my Apple Pay debit card?

Also, my roommate will be out of town but he can sign the pre-release. Do you know if I will experience any issues with delivery because the contract will be under his name? Can I even pick-it up from fed-ex or UPS to hold it for me?

Thanks for being awesome guys...really enjoy reading this forum.

Just tried with the 8 for in store pickup, got the same result. Told me needed to go to a store.

So going through the Apple store to order the iPhone X, i get 2 options i pmt plan for 64GB ad another for 256GB. When I go to the VZW app, I only see one option for $41.66/mo. What am i missing? Does this means this part is "locked" till 10/27? TIA
Does this mean I can't favorite it and then just pick up where I left off on 10/27? Apologize if this has been asked before.

I have a question. I will be preordering the iPhone X but I need advice on how to do so. I am going to be adding a new plan with this phone. To preorder as quickly as possible, should I call Verizon, add a new line via Verizon's website, or add the new line with the iPhone X on Apple's website?

Call Verizon in advance like a day or 2 earlier then the per-order and make any plan changes then.

I will be ordering from the standard Verizon desktop site since I don't currently have service with them I cannot use thier app or Apples.

My question is where within the Verizon site will the X orders first show up as Live?

Do I just keep refreshing the Verizon home page?

Do I go to the page where they currently have the X listed and keep refreshing there?
