Hey Guys. Just made a macrumors account. I’ll be ordering the iPhone X from Verizon because I’m on a Bussiness account and Apple.com won’t let me use the Bussiness account. Do you guys know what the link is to the Verizon Bussiness website and can I pre order the X on a Bussiness account on Verizon? Thanks :)

Trying to understand this- did you find out something that helps us Verizon people with carrier financing?
It appears that Verizon customers with payment plans can order through the Apple store app after all. The option shows up now if you go through the order process on an 8.

I'm pretty sure my Mom will pay half of what I owe for my iPhone 7 Plus to take ownership of it. I will pay the other half as a Christmas present for her. I plan to pay off my existing Verizon Upgrade Plan, and would have already paid it off but because my credit is very bad right now I'm afraid paying it off will lead them to do a full credit check on me when I try to lease my iPhone X. Does anyone see them doing that? I have been a loyal Verizon customer for like 8 years and never missed a payment. My credit was already kind of bad when I got the iPhone 7 Plus but I was going directly from one lease to another, not paying one off an starting a new one.

Also if you are one of those pompous a**holes that will want to try to tell me that I should feel bad for wanting a new phone, just because I had some unexpected financial problems (which have since been resolved and then some), you can kiss my butt!

I’m still getting the same option-pay in full only. Can you show what you get when you do it?

This is the only reference to an “Express Upgrade” I’ve seen. Would be nice to see it in action before the 27th.

I’m not even going to use the app because only the website allows me to pay 15% down to upgrade early. It says I qualify for the 15% down, but only presents the Pay in Full option further on during checkout for an iPhone 8.

Upgrading from iPhone 6. I do plan on pre-ordering Friday. I’ll be paying in full, and updated to an unlimited plan a few months ago ($25/mo less for me).

So, with a straightforward buy, which website/app should I try first?

Apple.com, iPad apple store app?
Verizonwireless.com, iPad Verizon app?

I will preload all of course.

With the Apple store, my CC is registered already. But if I get bogged down entering my Verizon account info while ordering, some time could be lost.

The Verizon store may require CC info entry during the process.

I have not pre-ordered since the 6, so I’m sure there have been changes. Anyone recently order and have some insight as to which will be smoother, or have suggestions of what do before hand, or information to have on hand when doing the deal?

Yeah but like we said earlier, once you go farther in the process (after Apple checks with Verizon) it comes back with the pay I’m full option only.

You can save a card to your Verizon account. Therefore it automatically shows up at the end when you’re about to click place order.

I just added my card yesterday through the app. I tried adding it through the website, but it wouldn’t let me because I have autopay set up through my bank. I chatted with an online rep and they said that once your card is added, the only thing you will need to enter upon purchase is the 3 digit code on the back.

Man. Forget ordering from Apple this year for me I guess. Going to just go through the carrier.

As I have autopay enabled, and a saved CC, I think I’ll stick with the Verizon app as well. I can trade in my current phone, and since I have a phone protection plan, I don’t need AppleCare.

Might worth selling the old phone later though, the few minutes it takes to go through that process might be important next week.

How do you save a CC with the Verizon app? Or do you have to be in the process of making a purchase to do so?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out :p

i spoke to Verizon customer service and you can trade-in your old phone during or after purchase. So I'll being bringing my phone into a VZ store after after lunch and getting the $400+ credit

Yeah as I understand it, don’t worry about going through the process during the preorder time (is it in working order, is the screen ok, etc). They know which one you’re gonna trade in and are supposed to send a box anyway.

It’s funny- I thought that way too but honestly if you have everything set in the Verizon app, it takes less time than the Apple app. The key difference is the point where Apple talks to the carrier after putting in number, zip, last four of social, and billing pin. That check makes it take longer. And on launch night that might even be longer.

Im thinking on ordering thru apple app as my first option and choose the payment plan for verizon. I think apple should have most of the inventory. Worse case i will have my laptop and ipad on standby ready to try on verizon if i see too much issues on apple. Hoping verizon have some decent inventory so ship on launch day.

I'm a little disappointed. I won't be able to pre-order the X until late Friday afternoon as I will be getting off a ship and won't have any internet access until then. But this opportunity that I have is a once in a lifetime so no way I'm missing out just to pre-order the iPhone at 3am. I need to find a friend to order me one. I can only imagine when I am going to receive it after pre-ordering in the afternoon.

I wish they’d have provided more details on this because I haven’t been able to find anything on how an express order will work. Anyone with more info?

I called Verizon CS and the lady had no clue either, she said she was going to look into what it is. She told me to call back this Wednesday since by then they should have more info.

From the Verizon site. Looks like it’s just an option to skip over selecting a plan when upgrading a device

https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/upgrade-device/

How to upgrade and keep my plan

Follow these steps to upgrade your device and keep your plan the same online in My Verizon. For instructions on how to upgrade using the My Verizon app visit the new My Verizon app FAQs.

  1. Go to the Upgrade Device page in My Verizon.

  2. Select the device you want to upgrade, and tap Next Step.

  3. Select Express Checkout to keep the data plan you have.

  4. Choose a pricing option, device color and storage size option if multiple colors and sizes are available, and tap Continue.

  5. Choose an insurance option and tap Continue.

  6. Review your order, and tap Check out.

  7. Enter your payment information, and tap Validate.

  8. Review and acknowledge the Terms & Conditions, and tap Place Your Order.
