As someone who uses both wireless and wired charging on my iphone 11, I would gladly go without wireless charging for a lower weight phone. Plus, wired charging is more efficient.
Thats you..the world is going wireless charing..soon we will have port-less iphone
So thats not an solution for the future

Same OP, same crying, different year. It’s amusing.

They made it too thin and it bent. People complained. Battery life sucked and people still complained. They give you better batter and bigger phone. People complain. The phone no longer bends. People still complain. It’s the same thing every year. Just enjoy your phones people.

I would have no problem at all with a plastic back, never had a problem with it in the first place. Most people put a case on their phones and you can't see the back of the phone anyways.
So apple should go all in with plastic that is polution rate higher..all macs ipads watches go all in plastic because you want…never gone happen again. People are going forward not backwards

Explain to me then how the Samsung S21 with its plastic back can do wireless charging if it doesn't use the same materials as the iphones? And trust me, the s21 is a very light phone with a good sized battery and display.

Y’all do remember what the 3g was like right? Yes they are getting thicker and I agree for the 13PM the weight will be an issue for some. But for those folks there are smaller/lighter options. We want our phones to have brighter displays, better cameras, a whole array of cameras and sensors on the front, etc. but we also complain that we have to charge it more often. Everything in life is about trade offs. I personally don’t think we need the batteries any bigger next year. I think if you run down the 13PM then you’ve used it enough that charging isn’t gonna be the end of the world.

I had a Lumia 930 - aluminium band with plastic back (actually looks a bit like an iphone12/13 in overall shape) and it felt great in the hand, and was really light compared to subsequent iPhones! Don't think the plastic took away from the premium feel at all tbh.

Well they need to start cutting weight somewhere while keeping the batteries and display sizes the same or bigger. It can be done, just look at Samsung.
Samsung is doing with plastic and thats irresponsible from them. Apple wants to go 100% plastic free by 2030, this is environmentally the right thing to do
Samsung must do the same if they are a responsible company

They gotta make em thicker because in two years we will forget and be happy when they make them thinner.

four more words TOO FAT AND HEAVY
That's what she said ;) Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I ordered the iPhone 13 Max this morning. I messed up and thought I was just ordering the iPhone 13 Pro! I had an earlier "Max" version, and thought it was too unwieldy. But that was a different time in my life, I had a job where I was wearing a suit. Now that I'm retired, it is casual dress 99% of the time.

I usually carry a "Man bag" for wallet, phone, folding knife, keys, earbuds, COVID mask, hand sanitizer. Or I carry 12.9" iPad Pro in a bag. So maybe I can get used to the large Max as long as I'm crying a bag. I guess I'd screen calls on my Apple Watch and decide whether or not to pull the Max out of one of my bags.

I suppose I should cancel the Max, but maybe I'll try to go to my local Apple Store and see if I can see any benefit to me, over the Max model. That is of course assuming they have the 13 iPhones on hand.

There are two sides to this. You either go thinner and get less battery life or go thicker and get more battery life.

In this scenario only one side can win unless Apple can compromise and use lighter materials (like titanium and aluminum). I just don’t see Apple doing that anytime soon.

For me personally, the more battery life the better. I will take a thicker phone, heck if they can jam in even more battery life in future models I will take it.

I would love to have a plastic phone
Everybody puts their phones in these cases anyways

It would be nice to have some much lighter devices as options.

I don’t see Apple using plastic given their environmental initiatives. They would need to use lighter metals. Really don’t understand why they use steel on the pros. The aluminum on the “lower tier” phones is more grippy and much lighter.
