This must be true. Samsung phones are really really bad and they are so unbearable to use I can't imagine they manage to sell any at all!
Weird isn't it.. Its by far the best device I've ever had. From performance to specs and I've had the iPhone 5 before it.

I know right. They are the biggest selling OEM in the world and their flagships sells more than all the other android OEMS combined but they are so rubbish. I wonder how they manage to sell any phones at all.

Agreed. Nothing is wrong with android but Samsung phones are really really bad. TouchWiz makes the devices unbearable to use.

For those that don't like ios I always suggest the nexus lines or even the Moto X (even though I hear the new ones battery isn't very good).

Geez, this argument sounds awful familiar...

It's always the same crap both ways. It's at that level of discussion that anything of interest gets lost.

So basically your saying we can't say samsung software is horrible? It's the same argument for a reason, because it's horrific software.

Pure android software isn't bad at all, but when manufacturers put their own overlay on top of Android is when we have a problem.

Nothing wrong with saying that but I'm interested to know what makes TouchWiz horrible (and please don't say lag) as I don't have any issue with it.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Bringing the matter up for a constructive discussion is one thing, in which case you would state your case in a friendly or at least polite manner, and back up your statement with a reasonable argument.

If you put it like you did in your first paragraph now however, everyone can see that constructive discussion is not your aim, and derailing and bickering being is then likely to follow.

Furthermore I think everyone here already knows that TouchWiz is hate by some (including myself) and loved by some, and that the majority prefers vanilla Android, so that point really doesn't ask to be brought up at all.

But you're making the same sweeping generalization that so many others are guilty of on the forums. And I completely disagree. I have no love for TouchWiz either but can certainly understand how someone else might find value in multi-window, apps that specifically take advantage of a stylus, a far more robust camera app, S-Health, etc, all things not available on stock Android. I could also say the same about HTC's Sense (very clean, well optimized, with useful features like Blinkfeed and camera/photo functionality) and Motorola's skin, which adds, IMO, the most useful feature set of any OEM skin).

Stock Android is a the version that many Android users prefer because it almost is like starting with a blank canvas, especially useful for those who want to build their user experience exactly how they like it. But stock is also truly barebones and in many regards, quite limited compared to what's available on many OEM versions.

I was thinking the same thing reading all those posts. It's ok to do it the other way but it's laughable sarcasm when criticism comes in for the devices they use. This is why so many discussions end up in 'my phone is better than yours na na na na naaaa'.

What was it like before owning a mobile phone became so competitive? lol :)

It makes the device choppy

It's horrible to look at

It's not simple to use

Task bar has too many icons - it looks like a mess

Lag

Don't worry. If the last 3 quarters are any indication, just like the interest in these new iPhones, Samsung's position will change soon enough. :) Starting from the top!

This is mostly how I feel about the iPhone 6/6 Plus

If for some of you lag equals app transition, try bringing down the animation and transition down to 0.5 in developers options and tell me if you see lag.

Well, not everyone agrees with that. Some people say it's choppy, other says otherwise.
So I guess it even

It's horrible to look at

That's very subjective. I personally don't like it, You obviously hate it, but there are others who love touchwiz looks.

It's not simple to use

Of course it's not simple, if you compare it to ios.
Ios only consist of icons and folders on the home screen, while in touchwiz (and android ) you use icons, folders, widgets, custom gestures, live wallpapers, etc.

if you like simple things, than ios is perfect for you.
Other people want and need more features. If you don't need them it doesn't mean it's bad
[/QUOTE]

Task bar has too many icons - it looks like a mess

Same as above, simplicity & features

I have to agree with this. samsung phones tend to be (little bit) slower than nexus & some other flagship phones. But they compensate with more features such Multi window and s pen.
It's a trade off.
If speed is your priority, then don't use samsung (at least for now).

I'd rather sacrifice a little bit of speed so I can use multi window and S pen.

Almost everybody says that it looks bad, is choppy and basically useless and a few steps below stock Android. Samsung phones are the slowest flagships you can get.

BTW, iOS has many more useful features and gestures than touchwiz.

can you compare some of these features and gestures?

Yes. Gestures to return to the home screen, the gesture for the control panel, gestures for spotlight, gestures to quickly go/navigate between opened apps, etc.

Touch ID is one. Then iOS software is what makes the camera become the best camera. etc.

Ok I'll agree that there has been some lag with samsung devices such as s3, s4. But since the note 3 I haven't seen lag.
