I don’t really need the encryption, so I can get rid of it if it causes issues. Let me know what the negatives are. Thanks.
In the past I'd say performance, but at least with your sequential benchmarks, your performance seems fine with that encrypted drive.

I personally don't like encryption when it's not necessary because it needlessly complexifies things. If in the future you say transport it to another machine but don't remember the password, then you're permanently locked out of your data. And if you ever need data recovery for a failed drive, it's basically impossible, although you should ideally have multiple proper backups so you wouldn't need data recovery.

I can remove encryption, let me know why it’s not ideal. Thanks.
My 4 drive enclosures, 2 Maiwo K1717 and 2 Acasis; 1 a 405 Pro Max Dual Drive and 1 405 Pro, I use for home use are not encrypted. But I do encrypt my older 4TB 405 M1 Acasis startup drive I use for my M1 14" MBP when traveling. Just because if someone was to swipe it they would not have all my info. Have not seen any negatives performance wise since I did this in 2022.

Far as your speeds and temp all looks great! Congrats, see it was't that hard and down the line if you get a TB 5 Mac you can now easily swap out the SSD's and put then in a super fast TB5 enclosure
