Most normal delivery area folks do. If you are in a normal two-day area (further out in the sticks? :) ), it may actually say Friday. Mine does say Thursday, since I'm in a relatively metro area. You won't get it today. It will be held at the depot for 4/30 delivery.

I think we need one official thread, as things are getting asked/answered in multiple places. No offense to this relative OP, it's a good question. Specified time (date) of delivery shipments are a different animal from normal ASAP shipments.
 
I spoke with Apple this morning and they told me that if it says "shipped late April", you will RECEIVE it tomorrow, and to NOT go by what the status says on the Apple site.

Watch tomorrow on this forum... we will be seeing many happy recipients posting about their new 3G Ipads being delivered ;-)
 
Mine finally shipped with an estimated delivery by 3p tomorrow!!! :)

NOW the main problem is: I MUST be at work between 11 & 2. Woe..........

BTW....got my confirmation email this morning! Woot! Scheduled for delivery by 3 pm tomorrow. As for everyone's excitement over a product that has been out for a month already, it is warranted. Most of us are early adopters and we have chosen to wait for the 3G instead of getting the Wifi when it came out. Our patience should be commended (at least that is what I tell my girlfriend) and to be excited over a shipment is very much warranted. bottom line, gadgets make me happy. Not crack, weed or large amounts of alcohol and numerous prostitutes. Let us have our enjoyment over a precious FedEx tracking number.

Maybe the person who is preparing mine took mine home or is very drunk and or asleep under his desk? Maybe they took mine to a local bar and left it on the table??

Why the hell are apple devices/computers so addicting? You know piror to about a year ago I found them annoying and made fun of anyone who has one.

Now I change my iMac/MBP every change that comes out.

It's like a drug, wtf steve jobs!!

Me too... Got my confirmation at 9:21 this morning in Detroit. It's going to get to my house by 3pm tomorrow, and I'm in Kentucky at the Kentucky Derby, and my wife works from 10am-3pm tomorrow. So I'm going to have her leave a note on the door for them to deliver it to my neighbor... Hope they do it.
 
Portland, Oregon here. Ordered on "preorder day", March 12 at 5:32AM, still saying "prepared for shipment". Not worried, they will deliver. It's a west coast thing most likely.

and i forgot to add that I preordered mine on April 1st. I live in Columbus (outside of Madison) Wisconsin.

Thank you for this comment. I ordered mine on 3/12 at 5:36 AM PDT and it still says "Shipping in Late April". It has been driving me crazy when I hear about people getting their tracking numbers.
 
I know this is a dumb question, but does anyone know if the Pre-sign for this shipment form will actually work? When I called Apple this morning they said I had to have someone over the age of 18 actually sign for it.

They are heading our way.....

I just spoke to Apple a few minutes ago to check on my order, since the money is still there and it just says "prepared to ship" on the order status. She assured me that Ipad 3G's are with FedEx already and as FedEx scans them onto the trucks we will be charged and receive our shipping information, but they are definitely scheduled for delivery tomorrow 4/30! :D:apple:

Yeah, I'm in Seattle and nothing here yet either. I image we'll some movement within the next couple hours though.
 
Glad to see the shipping notices go out. Anyone think 3G service tomorrow will be horrible due to people 'testing' things out? :) Let the 'activation threads' start! haha
 
Mine doesn't say shipped yet. I am in Miami.

I had the issue a few weeks ago where I pre-ordered and the order kept getting cancelled automatically by their system - even when an Apple rep manually entered the order, the same thing would happen. The system has my apartment building registered as a freight forwarder for some reason and there is nothing they can do about it.

So I had a friend pre-order it for me and have it sent to his address for April 30th. It turns out he has to leave for New York tomorrow morning and his building won't release the package to me. So he called Apple at 10am this morning and asked them to change the shipping address to my address. They confirmed the change and said it is still on for delivery tomorrow.

I am curious how this plays out. Will I recieve it or will it be cancelled by the system before shipping?

I ordered mine about a half hour after you and I also am stuck on "Prepared for Shipment" grrrrr.

UPDATE: Shipped! From Rancho Cordova, CA
 
Just got my shipping notification and it says it was picked up in Rancho Cordova, CA.
 
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Got my shipment confirmation!!!! Tommarow no later than 3pm!!! (Fedex allways gets here by noon)
