Just placed an order for Ti and SBTi (can't decide which one I want, haha!! Currently have S5 Ti) for pick-up at the Apple Store at The Grove in Los Angeles. I'll give both a whirl and see which one wins. Both with Kumquat sport loops. Pick-up was available today, but I didn't have time, so I switched to tomorrow.

BTW...they were both in-stock at The Grove, Century City, and Third-street Promenade.

Good luck everyone!! Hope you get yours soon!!

Mine all 3 watches are still processing :(

I caved an ordered a natural Ti for pickup today with a charcoal sport loop. I'll order a braided solo loop once I figure out which size will fit.

OK so it looks like the S5 Titanium included both S/M and M/L straps for the exclusive sport band that comes with it, but the S6 (based on "What's In The Box") only comes with one... S/M for the 40mm and M/L for the 44m. I hope this is a mistake because I ordered the 44m but the S/M is perfect for me, and I really want that band.

Per this thread, the AW6 Titanium does indeed come with both S/M and M/L sizes for the included exclusive band

Is the titanium or stainless steel more prone to scratch and damages?

Polished stainless would be, not because of the material but because of the finish. A mirror-polish metal will show scratches more than a brushed or other finish.

IF it's the plain Titanium then likely but if it's the SBTi, it has DLC. So less prone to scratches or damages. I even banged my SBTi very hard on a metal door frame on accident and no sign of any damages to the watch itself (whew).

I wonder why the Apple site doesn’t say the SBTi has DLC coating?

That's suspicious...I would never pay the money for it, knowing Ti is softer than SS, if SB isn't DLC (and, not paying the money for Ti, as it's a rip):

Aluminum available in silver, space gray, gold, blue, and (PRODUCT)RED.
Stainless Steel available in silver, graphite (DLC), and gold (PVD).
Titanium available in natural titanium and space black.

Read the Ti thread from last year. Many people had the natural Ti with minimal to no scratching issues despite all the panic when it was launched about it being "soft".

I preordered late and didn’t get a ship date until October. So I went online this morning to see if any of my local Apple Stores would have a Natural Titanium in stock. Sure enough, Boylston St. store in Boston has them (nothing closer though). So I canceled my preorder and will drive into Boston this afternoon to pick it up. Now I just have to put my Series 5 Ti up on Swappa.com so I can afford it.

I’d be curious to know what the mfg process for each of the different metals.

It’s not as simple as just saying “x is softer than y.” Like what alum is used? What heat treat? Same for steel. And the finish on each certainly makes a difference in appearance of durability, too.

I’m torn. Ordered the black ti 6 will be here next week. Found a graphite I will pick up today. I have the black ti 5 but feel like I want a different shade. I’ll try it and if I like it better Ill return the ti. No need to open it as I already have the black ti. Durability is the same for both from my exp. Since I upgrade every year I should stick to aluminum. I think we will take a huge loss on the titanium models. I do prefer more premium materials.

LOL I did the same. Good ole Bolyston St. store:). Will be picking up a natural Ti today to replace my 1 year old SBTi.

SBTi held up great. Looking forward to the color of the natural Ti, it’s been tempting me for the last year, so sexy.

I got the same combo. I have leather bands already And wanted another sport band. Was going to go braided but the shipping was too far out. Having a charcoal loop is a good backup/recreational band.

FYI - BestBuy is running a 20% off sale on watch bands.

See https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/discounts-sales-on-oem-bands.2219462/post-28883854

I snagged an openbox Nike+ black sport loop for $35 -- the reflective threads can be a plus for after dark activities like walks, runs, or walking the dog.

An advantage of picking mine up at the Apple Store was that I got a chance to size the new loop bands. When I measured at home I got an 8 but when I actually tried it on in the store, the 7 fit better. I think it is going to be a problem for these new bands.

They didn’t have any in stock of a color I would wear though so I’m going to have to order online.

But not a ripoff compared to steel as Ti comes with a band plus an additional year of warranty, so that closes the the $100 gap by more than $50

Yes, but scratches on steel tend to be hairline scratches. Some people even like or don't mind fine hairline scratches.
