What a superb machine...

My M1 MBA was brilliant, but the smaller screen was starting to annoy me, more so with numerous docs being open at the same time etc...

I'd been working off my M4 iMac recently and realised that I needed to upgrade the MBA as that's my business computer and really should be doing all my work on that

So here it is; 16GB/256GB M3 15" MBA in midnight ;) Fitted it with a Supcase case also for extra protection

Excellent choice! I got a MBP M4 for Christmas and it's easily the best computer I've ever owned. Super fast, super cool. Case looks great as well! Enjoy!

I also got a MacBook Pro m4 and we have an air m3 15 inch at home… IT’S NOT THE SAME THING, Pro performances are better, speakers are better, screen is better and more

I'm also curious how you calculated $500 savings over the future M4 Macbook Air. If you're referring to the M4 Macbook Pro, that's only $300 more and comes with double the storage.

There's no way the forthcoming M4 MBA 15 will be priced $500 higher than the M3 MBA 15...that would make the MBA more expensive than the M4 Macbook Pro.
Took advantage of a sale at BestBuy!

Congratulations!

My SO and I splurged, moving from Windows to Mac recently with (2) M4 Mac Minis! We needed to spend more for more U-RAM and storage. We hate Apple for that, but we love them for all the :apple: utility, apps, power, and speed that the M4 provides.

We're gonna need to wait a bit and might splurge on Mac laptops later this year. Might be MBA. Might be MBP. Both concern me though. How do you deal with your palm/hands accidentally doing things inadvertently while typing something? That's a huge surface area on the touch/click pad!
Yeah as others have said really don’t worry about your palms or accidental trackpad touches on a MacBook, it’s a non-issue, at least I’ve never had an issue with it!

On both my MacBook Air and my iMac, I keep a separate user account that's logged into all my work stuff (different iCloud account, email accounts, etc). It's very quick to switch between accounts, and you can even do it by pressing the TouchID button if you register a different finger with each account.
Could you explain how you do this in greater detail? All of your files must be on iCloud?

It works the same as the user account you're using now. You switch users and it's basically like you're opening a separate Mac: different stuff on the desktop, different apps running, logged into different email accounts, iMessage, etc etc. I use Google Drive on the work account, but I use iCloud Drive on my personal account. The only thing the accounts have in common is that you're using the same Applications folder -- and even then, you're using entirely different preferences and set up in the separate user accounts.

I swore my next laptop will have a display bigger than 14 inches, been playing with the 15 air and pro 14 at BB, I prefer the 15 display size but the smoothness of the 14 pro is hard to ignore...the 15 scrolling is not terrible . I cant justify the 16 pro price .....ugh I may wait for the m4 air to come out

I said the same thing. I currently have a MacBook Air 💻 M1. Sometimes regret not buying the 15 inch M2 air that was available when I bought mine. My friend has a Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 15 inch and the bigger screen size makes a difference.

I honestly like the 14 inch : bigger than 13 inch but not too big like the 15 inch.

Welcome to the club :) i have a starlight Macbook Air M3 , 512GB , 16GB Ram , which i picked up on the tail end of last year, i sold my M2 Mac Studio to fund it , as my Studio was no longer acceptable for X Plane 12 , so split between the Macbook Air , and PC , one thing i did underestimate was that this macbook air can do anything , Switch Emulation , General Gaming as well. Hell of a nice machine. hope you enjoy yours ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
