I've got OCD. I like my devices to be protected. More so when they're not mine, so to speak.

Fitted a lighter Spigen case though to it. The Supcase will be used when I travel to the offices in Dublin to keep it protected etc

Better safe than sorry. I went without a case on my first iPad. I dropped it on concrete steps. It still work but there was a nice dent in the corner of the case. Grrrr.

A case is like auto insurance. The rates make you angry if you never use it. But all it takes is once to make it seem worthwhile.

Good looking case. Enjoy your machine.

I bet your cat(s) really like that box you left for them.

Sometimes you need/want a machine and waiting some indeterminate amount of time (with either no computer or some computer you're currently using that is irritating the hell out of you) when you could be using the thing TODAY is just pointless.

Will the m4 be better? Sure. Will it be "better enough" for most people using a MacBook Air to justify waiting? Probably not.

OP: Congrats on your shiny new 15" air. But holy crap that case. Just like... be a little careful not to drop it? Get AppleCare? Anything but that case :D
Well waiting 2 months to buy an m4 MacBook Air is good but not only because of new features but the resell value will be better !

They did; now it's in the loft with the MBA box and case boxes haha 😂

And yes; my OCD will not allow me to have a damaged/marked device. It really annoys me and it's all I focus on etc

I will not buy 2nd hand devices any more; my 'immaculate / as new' seems to be different to other peoples etc; so I'd rather spend the £££ and buy new and then apply whichever protection I want to keep it in that state

More so as I'm a habitual gadget swapper, so when it comes to selling on, they retain their value much more :)

Can already get for 20% off here and M4 will be another 10% with our $ v US$
So 30% more won't be worth waiting for.

I tried that same case when I had an Air. I returned it because the weight from the top piece made the laptops lid close faster due to the weight. I didn't want to ruin the hinge on my laptop long term.

Also look online but cases with vent grills on the back will burn a permanent marks on the back bottom piece of the laptop over time. It would be fine if the Air had vent grills on the bottom piece but it doesn't.

I would stick with one case because cases will stretch and get loose over time the more you put it on and remove it. Eventually it won't even properly.

Are you crazy?! Your top priority should be maintaining its resale value! Try not to use it, open it, or even touch it if possible! Limit its exposure to light (UV radiation) and air (oxidation).

To be clear, I'm joking! 😂
(But some people are kinda like that).
Actually I have been able to sell my m1 MacBook Air for a very good price… (Like around 500 usd when the MacBook Air m1 is sold at 700 usd new)…
