I just installed the 5.0 carrier update from 3.1 and MMS just worked for me. (Rebooted phone after update)

Cleveland, OH area.

I'm on 3.0.1 JB.

I updated to 5.1 and reboot iphone. After reboot MMS & Tethering work but VVM broke. I went into

Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network

Change the APN for voicemail from acds.voicemail to wap.cingular and reset network, reboot iphone then visual voicemail work again. Give it a try...

When I go to Settings > General > Network I get this: (running 3.1)

Is it working in the Detroit area with the Carrier file update to 5.1 or the native carrier file that came with 3.1, which is 5.0?

Is your Visual voice mail working properly?

I live in the Detroit area with 3.1 with a hacked 5.1 and MMS is not working

The failure and successes really seem to be location based. That is if the carrier file was installed properly.

I have JB 3.0.1 with carrier file 5.1 in Cleveland Ohio and it's working this
morning!
Family text plan also

Anyone like me wondering why under usage it lists "tethering data" but there's no option to tether?

Memphis, Tn
3.1 and 5.1 updated carrier file and mms is rolling!

Strange... I am in the Metro Detroit area with 3.1/5.1 and MMS is working now. I did have to reset network settings, which made me loose A LOT of wifi settings... but all is working. No visual voice mail issues.

Family share unlimited texting as well... not sure if that matters or not?

So even if the carrier file worked and I have the camera, the failure of the mms message can still take place? I need to find someone willing to send me a test mms.

Yes. I have the 5.1 file, 3.1 OS, and it still fails for me. I've tried sending to 2 different iPhones, all with the same results.

iTunes 9.0, 3.1 and 5.1ipcc WORKING in Little Rock. WOOHOO!!! Thanks for the help!! :)

I even managed to figure out how to make iTunes look for the .ipcc file. Yay!!!

Tried it out in Rochester, NY.

iPhone 3Gs with the ipcc file found earlier in this thread.

Camera icon shows up but MMS fails to send.

Tethering still works fine.

Looks like I'll be waiting a couple more weeks.

Why, that is shocking! Shocking, I say! As a full time IT Director, I would be appalled, if I had not done the exact same thing myself.

:p

Apologies if this is an extremely stupid question, but I downloaded the carrier file just fine, saved it to my desktop (PC), and then when I did Ctrl+Shift+Update, it doesn't appear in the list of valid iPhone files. I am running Vista and noticed when I went into the file properties that it had an option to "unblock" the file (automatically blocked for security reasons), so I did that, and it's still not showing up. I know I could probably just shut the hell up and wait till the 25th but I don't waaaaaannna. :)
