I notice that my credit card now has a pending transaction for the full amount. Does this mean anything? My delivery window is 18-30th. There is no change in my order status (processing)

Same.

It will change to dispatched in the next few days.

I only found this out, because I was regularly checking the Apple Store app. The dispatch email didn’t arrive for a couple of days after.

My delivery window was 15th-22nd. The dispatch email from Apple states that delivery is on the 15th. Who knows, it could arrive sooner.

It's here, and it's rapid. Have so far avoided having to use Rosetta at all (though I've only had it for an hour and a half!) -- stuff like 1Password, VSCode and LaTeX all have Universal builds (albeit betas).

Ordered MBA 8/8 16GB/512 on 3rd Dec, now have a pending payment on my credit bill.
What ETA does Apple give you? My work ordered same spec in space grey for me on 2nd and last I heard (on Monday) was “Arriving 30th Dec“. As it’s not on my account I can’t check for updates which is a bit frustrating!

Cheers. We’re waiting on the same spec so will be interested to know when yours arrives.

In my experience, it’s not unusual to be cautious about delivery dates. I’ve often had items arriving earlier.

So does it (thus far) fulfil your expectations?

Or does it disappoint you?

Or does it exceed your expectations?

So far, it's met them, but I was expecting a lot.

There's a lot of stuff I've not tested, and I've not used the battery at all yet (it's lived on mains power). Software support has exceeded expectations slightly, but that's as much down to third parties as anything.

It's annoying (but not a huge deal) not being able to use more than one external display, but I knew what I was getting myself in to and have a desktop machine anyway connected to my monitors 24/7 anyway. I've never used 2 external displays with a laptop before, so it's probably as much knowing that I couldn't if I wanted to rather than any actual disadvantage.

Not unique to the M1, but I'm still getting used to the Touch Bar. I quite like it when I'm using it, but need to get used to resting my fingers slightly further away than I normally would, as I occasionally accidentally touch it by accident. It's good having a physical escape key.

I've not had a Mac for a while, and it's nice to be back on a machine with some polish, but again that's not a unique thing to the M1 either.

Still nothing.

edit: I checked with Apple Support. Had a much better experience with the live chat this time, they actually knew what was going on. According to their internal tools, the package was in Amsterdam yesterday morning, so it's all on track. DHL just hadn't updated. Apparently detailed order updates might not be visible until the package is in the UK, which sort of explains why the status page hasn't updated, but doesn't explain why it has for others... oh well!

soooo it arrived and ... I was right ? ;)

gimme the points! :)

Delivery had been estimated for tomorrow but just checked the tracking again (had no further updates from DHL like an email or text) and its actually out for delivery today :D. Might be worth checking if you also got a text from them yesterday.

EDIT: OK I was just too keen with the checking ;), delivery text has just come in from DHL

My charge is still pending, how long have people experienced before the money is taken and then the MBA shipped? Interesting on the app it has moved from Express shipping to Standard, but still says Jan 4th
