My order from the 1st Dec (base MBA w/16GB RAM) is now ‘Preparing to Ship’. Still giving Dec 29th delivery.
It's my second MBA, I returned the first one due to insufficient RAM.

All in all, a very seamless experience with Apple under-promising and over-delivering.

Here in the States mine when from "Processing" to "Preparing to Ship" to "Shipped" with a tracking number in 2 hours. I hope you see the same progress.
You did well there. I ordered mine 6 days before you, same spec other than its silver rather than SG, and it’s been marked as being in Eindhoven since Friday.
Yeah, I totally lucked out when I ordered – must've caught it at just the right time. I was checking for in-store stock (with a 1TB drive) for a while before. I did see the expected lead time drop online, which is when I pulled the trigger.

Are you noticing much of a difference between the 8gb model & the 16gb model, in any way?
For my workload yes, less stuttering and less beachballing. I'm benefitting from the extra RAM that I've got.
Still waiting for mine to go from “Preparing to ship” (yesterday) to “Shipped”. Any idea roughly how long it normally takes? (Express delivery)
Mine took a few days.
I realised this by checking the App Store app.
Never received the shipping email until about 2 days after, which stated my delivery date.
Mine went to shipped the day after it went to preparing. I wouldn't get too excited though as since then (Friday lunchtime) its just been sat on "shipping info received" in Eindhoven. Then again mines standard rather than express delivery, so maybe you'll see things move more quickly?
Think I've been lucky, it's just moved to shipped and is coming via DPD tomorrow (10th)!

Mine (DHL) says “shipment information received, waiting for package” it is currently in Eindhoven, NL ordered November 18th. got the dhl tracking code on the 5th of December.
