Uk Apple store down for iPad preorder!

I'm in a similar position. I checked with the bank and it has been authorised and no hold up. However it seems to be stuck in this limbo land. An Apple rep has said he will keep an eye on it let me know by 8PM tonight when they close.

I still don't have a confirmation email, but I now have clickable links to edit my billing email, shipping address and shipping email, and also a link to cancel items.

I didn't do anything else...it just seems to have sorted itself out :)

Edit: My email just arrived :)

Same here. Non-editable links in the Order Details, but the order's there.

Spoke to Apple to check; they reported that the order has 'been transferred to the workflow' and that 'the system is completely overwhelmed'. So I'll try not to panic :)
 
I have a similar issue - wrongly ordered Orange mini-SIM, couldn't edit order to change to O2, called Apple who were very obliging, no problem, but the confirmation has come through with the Orange SIM and checking it online shows no change.
 
ordered a 32g wifi/3G with case, keyboard dock and o2 sim. Took about two hours before i got my confirmation email - but that has arrived now. Cannot wait for the 28th....

i don't think i can last it.

ordered my 32gb Wifi, and case last night about 2am.

got email seconds after, and money has gone.

they've taken your money already? i thought they didn't take money until dispatch time?

not that its a problem but has Apple withdrawn anyone else's funds yet?

I've had confirmation email pretty much instantly after ordering at 8am this morning, but the money remains in my account.

Yes mine was taken instantly which has been confirmed by the bank.
No email though. Apple say their email screwed up and it should come, but it is definitely ordered.

hmmm, it would appear I'm the other way around, email confirmation instantaneous, but no money taken :confused:
 
Got got the confirmation email for my 1:11am order
-email received at 2:37pm :eek:

I am now sitting on two orders and don't know which to cancel, if any. Apple are supposed to cancel this order. I just don't want to call them again today, perhaps i'll leave it until tomorrow. Just don't want to get charged twice.
 
Just got my confirmation email from a 1:30am order. Says iPad delivered by 28th rest is despatched by 28th. I did ring them an hour or so ago and have the SIM taken off as I didnt really ned it and thought it might be what was holding things up. Although it has that as removed on the website, he email I just got has it on still.

so the people who have had their money taken are the ones who didnt order a microSIM?

No. Debit cards are debited for the amount straight away, credit cards are pre-authorised. Still don't agree with the practice - Amazon don't charge for preorders until they ship as an example.

No mine was taken out straight away. But as most people could see their order as DELIVERED by 28th and mine was DESPATCHED by 28th the opinion was it may be due to the sim chip. I had this taken off as I don't need it anyway. It didn't have any bearing on charging the card. Thats a debit card or credit card issue.

but mine is a VISA Debit Card and still has not been charged. My order says SHIPPED BY 28th.

Worth me deleting the microSIM from the order you reckon?

I would leave it. The email says rest on my order except iPad are despatch by 28th.

yea my confirmation email says "Delivers by May 28th" next to the iPad, but its just in my Apple Store account it groups it as "delivers by".

i just want them to take my money now so i know everything is ok, i already had to ring the bank this morning to get my card unblocked as Apple had declined my card when i first tried to order at 1am so my bank could do a fraud check!

Are you sure it hasn't been taken. Some banks are a bit sow on the update.
