@Cutiekitty92 glad you got a phone sorted!!

I suspect the amazon option didn’t show because it says you have to have a decent good history with them.. perhaps you haven’t been with them that long?

Anyway at least it’s all sorted!

what wireless chargers are you all banging on about :D
Thanks sparkie I’ll keep telling myself it all makes sense

Is this via their own MasterCard or? Please tell me more aha sorry

Where do I find this? I just signed up to Prime to get this
Just seen this.. it isn't exclusive to prime members... so you can cancel/refund that prime membership if you want! Not sure how they decide who is worthy... it has to be an account at least 1 year old with relatively regular purchase history afaik.

Congrats on securing your phone!

Ahh no worries customer services was kinda not helpful but thanks anyway was worth a shot! It makes sense 0% APR makes a big difference

Just a quick note about buying iPhones from amazon on the 5 monthly payments plan https://amzn.to/32HWijb
If for whatever reason, you wish to “Settle early”, you can contact amazon and ask them to deduct / charge remaining balance immediately

Haven’t had anything from Halifax, just an email from Apple but even when I updated my payment info online, still said payment authorisation failed. Tried my monzo card and said the same thing. Will just contact them tomorrow to see what the issue is.

Same for me tried 3 different cards all didn’t go through!

Did you pay using Apple Pay?

If so you need to call Apple and have them process payment manually over phone. Issue will be that transaction is locked to Apple Pay on original card and they need to manually override. Once sorted, all will be fine and delivery date should not be affected.

Is a common issue that I have had for last few years - though interestingly not this year!

Yeah I used Apple Pay , thank you! , that’s calmed me down ahah , I’ll give them a ring In the morning and get it sorted. Couldn’t understand why none of the cards were working.

Sentimentally posting in this thread when it used to be exciting getting the new iPhone. Glancing down to my payment alert early was just 'meh' Bring back the good old days :/

I'm on holiday in Cornwall next week and didn't pre order as wasn't sure on deliveries, times and where I'll be.

What do you think the chances of walking into a rural west country EE store and picking up a Midnight Green 64Gb Pro Max? The EE website is still listing delivery as being within 7 days. It also works out less a month than I'm currently paying for my XS Max now.

Also, anyone who has ever upgraded with EE in store what forms of ID do you need? I'm on a Max plan which means I get a *free* early upgrade. I'm guessing I just hand them over my phone and they hand me the new one. *fingers crossed*

I had an absolute nightmare on Friday between Apple and Clydesdale and did similar. Apple Pay through the app got blocked (the woman at Clydesdale tried to tell me Apple Pay had a limit, then that it had a limit on MasterCard, which I disproved with seconds of searching on Google). Apple sales support removed the Apple Pay payment info and added the card manually. Still got blocked, another call to Clydesdale to unblock, then Apple again to take payment and get payment ID, then Clydesdale again to compare and confirm payment ID. Buying my 8 was nothing like this with Halifax!

2 hours on-hold between the two of them.

Is there any practical benefit being on iUP when it comes to preordering the next one? Eg smoother checkout, reserved stock etc?

Trying to decide between iUP and payments for my phone. My home insurance covers damage but I have a big excess so not ideal. And I’m likely to be wanting to upgrade next year if there is a new design

Picking up a basic 11

Just got a notification from Monzo saying Apple charged me £1199 for my 11 Pro 256GB pre-order!

My order is a pickup from Regent Street (London), and check-in window is 8-8:30am.
Phoar you're gonna be in the thick of it then! Let us know what the crowds are like.

I didn't realise they opened early for launch day so reserved for after work in the evening. It's gonna be a very slow day on Friday!

...Let us know what the crowds are like.
Personally I’d be very surprised if there are crowds anywhere this Friday. Or lack of stock for that matter.

Although I will be upgrading, like I have done every year since the first iPhone in 2007, this year has been the closest that I have come to not bothering. It’s hardly a compelling upgrade.

I was the same to be honest, the fact I wanted to get a smaller phone and green is one of my favourite colours is what pushed me to just go for it.

Have the iPhone pro 256 pre ordered Apple but was thinking gong to very my catalogue for 256 max gold but none available.

Trying to catch up on about 20 pages as been researching holiday for March after placing order!

Confirmed with my home insurance I have accidental damage in and out of the house so no really need for Applecare.

Check what your excess is though!

For everyone looking to order via Amazon, JL or Curry’s and so on remember that they prob won’t have the same returns policy as Apple. You probably cannot return open boxes.

Yeah excess is the snag - £350! Up for renewal next month so might explore options to reduce excess. iUP might be better after all..

I returned an opened and used 2 week old Note 9 to Amazon last year, no issues.
