I had this same exact problem where it sat on 0%. If I recall I just left it alone for a long period and eventually it completed.
I’ve seen this mentioned but can’t say I’ve noticed any bugs myself in months of usage.

Interesting. Maybe the reviewer's experiences are unique to quirks of iOS 13 running on the 11 hardware?
I recall there were some issues in iOS 12 early on that only manifested in iPhones 7, 8 and X, and nothing above or below for some reason or another.

For those of you (direct apple orders) who said their funds have now been taken did you use a credit card?
My CC is still saying pending so I assume apple haven't taken the money yet.

Being a bit cynical. BUT- the orders from apple seemed to go very fast from placing the order to preparing to ship. I think they did this to stop people cancelling their pre orders - once that status goes to preparing to ship its much harder to cancel right? So they mark them as that as soon as possible.
Apple store pickup, pre-ordered as soon as it went live, my credit card had a pending charge for the full amount since Sunday evening. Still pending.
I paid with CC, my order was around 13:02 on release day, was showing pending until today where it's now cleared.
This is a common issue, i've found that you need double the amount of free storage available for it to backup successfully.
I have the same problem. I've now stopped doing a backup for whatsapp and instead backup using iCloud backup to backup the whole device.
Ok thanks guys - so looks like it’s a mixed bag with pending / cleared transactions.

I'm upgrading from a iPhone 7 128gb to a iPhone 11 Pro Max 256gb, I went for the silver directly from apple.
For those of you who buy a new phone every year, has apple ever delivered a phone a day early?
They've done more than that, a week early at best

Placed order around 1:45 on opening day.
Funds had cleared from CC when I checked yesterday morning.
Maybe it depends on your CC issuer too? ie any security checks etc?

Now apple wouldn't want to charge peoples credit cards ASAP to stop the charging their minds now would they.....
mine was a Barclaycard CC but still pending... hope there isn’t an issue but apple store order is saying delivery Friday. I pre-ordered at 1.02pm.
hard not to look at your own order status when other's are changing, but whenever it does happen you'll still get your phone on the day it says you will.
I wouldn't be concerned. Sometimes it can say pending up until its actually shipped.
