I pre ordered with sky mobile who were confident for delivery on the 20th. Messaged their helpline this afternoon who advised delivery on the 20th.....got a txt at 5:30 from sky saying sorry there’s been a mistake your order will be delivered by the 4th October #SadFace

So as we get closer to Friday I’m left with two thoughts currently.

1) clean install or restore from backup?

2) get apple to install the screen protector or forego?

Change my mind

1) clean install as always.. helps prune unused apps etc.

2) an claim on AppleCare (~£20) is cheaper than the screen protector (£30)

Decided on a black 11 128gb but not sure which network to go with..

Anyone on here use Sky Mobile and if so, do you get Wifi calling on your iPhone?

Can’t get a definitive answer online..

Yes. It's on their website. Also, they use the O2 network and that has wifi calling. I'm in a blackspot (just my home unfortunately) where my signal is poor. Wifi calling has been perfect with O2. Making a jump to Sky with the Pro Max.

I think WiFi calling on sky is relatively new as I’ve been with them for a while now and only just noticed the option - it definitely wasn’t advertised as being available lol.

the signal in my area isn’t great either but they’re more cost effective so it’s a kind of weigh up the pros and cons with them.

Finally jumping in on this thread...

My partner and I are both waiting on a Friday delivery for an iPhone 11 each. A black 128gb from a 7 plus Rose gold for her, and a Product Red 64gb from a matte black 7 plus for me.

Ordered direct from Apple (order time 13:02). All paid for on her card which is still pending payment.

Cases, screen protectors and e-sims all delivered and ready to go!

I paid about £8 for a pack of three Syncwire screen protectors for my XS Max from Amazon. Only ever needed to use one, it was great. Did you forego on your XS?

Had an apple installed screen protector on ms XS and it saved my screen earlier this year when my daughter dropped it. The protector smashed but screen was fine.

But apples ones are not cheap and I’ve bought cheaper ones before and hate how fiddly they are to install.

Thinking given the price and if the screen did break, I’m paying g for that apple care for a reason on iUp

Could you tell me where you found the £50 cash back offer? I ordered from CPW online on Monday but didn't see one.
On cashback site Quidco, so would take a few months to actually receive the £50 back. Weirdly the offer of £50 for "Pre-ordering the new iPhone 11 range" expires in 5 days, which is after pre-orders would become regular orders lol.

(Not sure if I'm allowed to say this but if anyone signs up, feel free to use my referral link - we both get £10)

My AMEX card has been charged by Apple today (money taken) after being 'pending' since Friday - transaction backdated to 13/09.

On the Apple Store App it shows as 'Preparing For Dispatch' on the front screen of My Orders, and it's been at 'Preparing To Ship' for several days already in Order Details page.

I've had regular screen protectors and a few Belkin ones installed in-store at Stormfront (Apple reseller).

Stormfront replaced the Belkin on my 7+ no questions asked after it got a crack in it. On my X I've been using ESR screen protectors from Amazon - a two pack was £8 and it's been flawless, with none of the lifting on corners or bubbles appearing so just ordered more in 11 Pro Max size.

We use screen protectors on all of our phones & touch wood have never had a cracked screen since my daughters first chucked-about & abused 5C.

Got to admit, i've had the Osmo mobile 3 for a week or so and it's great, it's the main reason I got the pro so I could take advantage of the new cameras, it'll be the awesome combination when I go to Disney in November for Galaxy's edge!!
Watch out for their rules on selfie sticks and gimbals. I'm in Batuu from 7th Oct, so I'll beta test the policy for you.

The website doesn’t say for sure if a phone not supplied by them will work with WiFi calling. I even spoke to them and the guy wasn’t sure, he said i’d be able to cancel if it was a deal breaker..

Someone linked earlier to the Apple site which didn’t list it under Sky Mobile so still none the wiser. Giffgaff also uses O2 but doesn’t support WiFi calling.

Who have you ordered from? It’s exceedingly rare for any Apple delivery date to slip, they are very conservative in this regard.

Direct from Apple.

I hear what you're saying and totally agree with you so I was extremely surprised to see the date had slipped. If anything, I thought that the original date would be the latest it would arrive.

The date has slipped by over 2 weeks and they didn't even email to tell me about it. I only found out because I logged on to my account to check.

Ah thank you! I guess I can't go back on the order now however. If it had been from the CPW website I would have raised a claim. I shall keep this in mind next time I order something!

Just spoke to my dad who is using a Sky SIM card in his iPhone 7 he bought off eBay and he was able to switch on wi-fi calling :)

I wouldn’t necessarily want to lean on AppleCare too much - two claims over 2 years so if you upgrade after 12 months I guess they only allow one incident in 12 months?
But a case with a lip to protect the screen is a good compromise - i’ve Taken the protector off my X for the last 6 months

It's an interesting one, but probably still worth a try. Assuming you haven't used Quidco before, if you sign up/log in and go to the Carphone Warehouse page > click one of the green 'Get Cashback' buttons which directs you to their website (maybe do this twice to make sure it went through). You'll then have to wait 24-48 hours (not 100% sure) and then use Quidco's 'Create cashback claim' form. You then enter all your order details etc, will all be self-explanatory anddd they send a manual claim to Carphone Warehouse. No guarantee it'll work but it has worked for me before!

I just contacted Apple to ask why I hadn't been informed that my shipment date had slipped. They apologised and said that they've been inundated with orders and that's why mine has been pushed back by over 2 weeks.

They said I should've been sent an email to tell me (which I wasn't and no, it hasn't gone into junk).

It looks like I'm going to have to keep an eye on the order page and not rely on emails.

It's a good job that I was going check it hourly anyway. :D

Yeah exactly (re: cost). My partner is with Vodafone. She's currently away but she'll be staying with them thanks to a 15% discount. I considered a move and what with Sky using the O2 network, I've been pretty happy with that network for years now. Wifi calling works and that's all that matters, so thankful that Sky have adopted it.

iPhone 11 pro max case has arrived and have to say it does feel better in the hand and looks more premium than speigen I know it’s plastic but just feels nicer

That’s the first time I’ve seen a change from their date given when ordered.

Case is here! I went for the tech21 Pure Shimmer. Clear but still got a little pizzazz. Very *chef kiss* if I do say so myself.
