Just taken my screen protector off my XS Max as it’ll be off for trade in tomorrow, the one I had fitted in the apple store as soon as I picked it up on launch day last year. The phone feels so good without it! And seeing as it didn’t have a mark on it I’m so tempted to go without on the new phone.

Not used a screen protector on my X for the last two years and there’s not a single scratch on it, and it’s been in my pockets with keys etc daily, dropped and so on. Unless you take a knife to purposely try and scratch the screen I really don’t think there’s a need for them anymore

No marks on it BECAUSE you had a screen protector on it

Happy iPhone Eve everybody.

Bought an 8+ and a 6S both a few weeks after launch but the last time I had a proper iPhone day celebration was with the 6.

Getting a Midnight Green 256gb Max from Apple tomorrow. I’m excited. Do not let me down DPD!

Place your bets! Will Apple Honor their email and website?

Pickup for tomorrow morning.

Question about repairing my watch with my new phone... I seem to remember when I went from my 7+ to my X I lost all of the health data/workouts etc and essentially it was like I’d just bought a new watch from scratch. Did I pair/unpair/back up wrong?

How do I make sure this doesn’t happen again?

My nearest Apple shop is an hour away. Can’t remember for which model it was now, but I drove there to queue! Have always ordered for delivery since.

the days of fastest finger first have certainly gone!

Why did you take it off? I’m leaving mine on.

Evening all!

We’re almost at the big day!

Updated to iOS13, quite impressed with the swipe keyboard!

Anyone else updated this evening?

Updated phone and watch. Looks like I’ll be collecting the new phone tomorrow from the DPD depot which is a bit of a trek but it means I don’t have to wait to find out when in the day it will arrive and I can set it all up before I go on my travels.

6.30pm Apple Cribbs Causeway tomorrow. Pro Max MG and AW S5 SG. I’ll try to remember to take photos of the atmosphere

(Shudder)

I remember queuing there for iPhone 4 launch... got there before 7 and left the store after 11. Could not get the storage size I wanted, only the smallest was available.

after all that the phone was faulty and had to go back a week later.... was offered a refurb or a refund... not a new replacement.

then took weeks to get a new one.

Vowed never again to wait in line.

hopefully things are better now

I’ve just signed up for Apple Arcade and played that music video game as they described it at the keynote and I have to admit it is a gorgeous game!

Can’t wait to play a bit more of it tomorrow after work - hopefully on my new iPhone!

I remember that day well....... everyone was outside apple and o2 with glum faces as the phones had pretty much gone however loads of people forgot carphone warehouse was down the other end of the mall at the time so luckily went there and they still had all memory sizes available
