Does anyone know how you can move your eSIM from existing iPhone to new one? Is it automatically restored with a backup or do you have to talk to the carrier? I’m with EE btw. I also have an Apple Watch S4 cellular with an EE plan.

I don't know about transferring your EE eSIM from iPhone to iPhone but in terms of the Apple Watch when you go to pair it with your new iPhone under Settings and Erase All Content make sure you tap Erase and Keep Plan.

So... anyone in the queue yet? 😜 jk

DPD currently shows my phone is at there local depot. I could drive there in 10 mins. But for them to get through their delivery round to get to me is going to take hours.

You need to contact/visit EE and obtain a replacement eSIM. eSIMs don't migrate with your iPhone backup to a new device, but they will restore to the same device.

If your local EE store has eSIM packs in stock, make sure they only move your number to an eSIM and don't issue you with a totally new number and line. If they don't have any in stock, just ask them to migrate your number to a physical SIM and contact EE's helpline.

Not used a screen protector on my X for the last two years and there’s not a single scratch on it, and it’s been in my pockets with keys etc daily, dropped and so on. Unless you take a knife to purposely try and scratch the screen I really don’t think there’s a need for them anymore
Fundamentally disagree (although I choose not to use them) - a knife won’t do any damage no matter how hard you press. The problem is the magic pocket dust that happens to be above a certain level of hardness, and scratches the phone like crazy! I have scratches all over my XS Max and I’ve only ever had the phone alone in one of my trouser pockets.

Just taken my screen protector off my XS Max as it’ll be off for trade in tomorrow, the one I had fitted in the apple store as soon as I picked it up on launch day last year. The phone feels so good without it! And seeing as it didn’t have a mark on it I’m so tempted to go without on the new phone.

Agreed! The current xs Max is the first time I went without a protector as like you I love how it feels.. my reasoning was worst case “screen gets broken” and needs a replacement via AppleCare..

my screen is pretty much unmarke

Yup...10:00am...u?

Yeah 5pm though :( let me know how busy it is!!

(Shudder)

I remember queuing there for iPhone 4 launch... got there before 7 and left the store after 11. Could not get the storage size I wanted, only the smallest was available.

after all that the phone was faulty and had to go back a week later.... was offered a refurb or a refund... not a new replacement.

then took weeks to get a new one.

Vowed never again to wait in line.

hopefully things are better now

I remember the iPhone 5S launch it was a total debacle, me and a mate queued for hours at Watford.. we were 4th in line and by 3am we must have been 80th.. scalpers were turning up and we actually got threatened by them!! Decided a phone wasn’t worth dying over and went to MK.. had the same issue there but we all banded together as we were sick of it.

Security just stood there. Was so annoyed it totally ruined the experience and said I’d never do it again.. I emailed Apple about it and received a call, my point was they could simply walk up the line Over night and hand out the reserved cards.... then it doesn’t matter as our phone is all reserved!! So simple and would stop it instantly..

Morning all... 👋🏻

I’m 2 hours ahead of UK time, but excited to see those that get their new phones today. 🙏🏻
Happy Launch Day guys!

This is why I’m staying physical sim for now. It’s too new and aggro! Well unless there’s any benefits to having it??

I hope everyone gets their phones and enjoys them. I am grateful I don’t work for a courier or delivery company on a day like this it must be a nightmare.

Took my screen protector off last week. Had the Belkin invisi glass one from launch. The screen picked up quite alot of scratches in just a few days. That being said I work in a builders merchant so it gets a beating!

My phone wasn’t arriving until 3rd October So just got to my local Apple Retail store in Bath. No queues. The staff were setting up the queue lines for the preorders. Had a chat with the manager who knows me really well from years gone by when I used to queue overnight. He says that they have loads of stock for walk in so following a selfie with him, one of his team put me on the preorder list for an 8am pick up.

Oh well, my order from Amazon has not been dispatched even though they confirmed everything look fine yesterday evening. System still says it will be delivered today. Anyone else being unlucky with Amazon? (fortunately for me I will have another being delivered today by Apple)
