Just a reminder to anyone who has recently (last few days) traded in a phone - most companies do price match. For example, I traded my XS 64GB in at O2 for £490 and they priced matched with Mazuma and now I’m getting £555 for it. If you’ve traded in at Carphone Warehouse or O2 you may be eligible to get a higher price.

Can you do this AFTER you’ve traded in or at the point you trade in?

Edit: seems you need to do it at time of trade in

you can do it after trade in... I sent a price match request to O2 yesterday and it was accepted today. You can do it with carphone warehouse as well (talk to them on Twitter as idk what the procedure is)

You don’t get this?

For some reason I do now!! I’m sure it didn’t work the other day.... maybe I didn’t give it chance to load. Thanks for the prod!

Good to know, thanks.

I did mine yesterday.

Weirdly.... I’ve been paid by CPW so now I have the phones and the money?!?!

Will take them into store tomorrow and see if we can get it sorted finally May have to get it in writing though as I’m worried it’ll all go wrong again

seems like a lot of carriers are throttling speeds now.. EE is doing it as well by offering max 60mbps on some plans and no caps on other plans (such as an unlimited plan or plans with swappable benefits). Vodafone is also throttling speeds on unlimited plans to 2mbps and 10 mbps on their unlimited lite and unlimited plan respectively, but no cap on unlimited max plan. That should actually be illegal as it’s not 4G if you cap it to 2mbps or 10mbps!

I love EE was getting 120meg at my office

Learnt that the hard way this year with my Apple Watch SS order...ordered from very on launch day and was told 20/09 delivery up until the night before...so ordered from apple....

Very have always come through for me - over the last couple of years two iPhones and a watch all arrived as promised on day of release. Also nice that I don’t have to pay for them for a year lol.

Yeah normally very are good. Maybe the stock on SS is low

Virgin Mobile are pretty good too. I got my dads phone with them last year. I noticed this year there’s a deal much like the one you mentioned from EE, except you don’t need to be a student.

iPhone 11 Pro 64GB, 50GB data and unlimited everything else for £50 a month, with free AirPods.
Or the Pro Max for an extra £5.

All with no upfront fees.

I know the coverage is good, they use the EE network, which is why I moved the wife to them too. I’d move over myself but I’ve a really good unlimited EE data (and everything else of course) plan that I doubt I’ll ever change from.

Be aware Virgin are a bit sneaky, many of their headline prices are for a 36 month contract.

There coverage may be good, but there speeds are atrocious. EE throttle the life out of them.
I got a free virgin sim with my BB package and get max speeds of between 5 and 10mbps. My work mate on EE gets 60mbps sitting beside me.
I raised it with Virgin and they confirmed to me they are throttled.
Add to that you don’t get WiFi calling or use of the faster wireless spectrum your better off avoiding Virgin!

I can’t speak for everyone everywhere of course, but the Virgin Mobile sim I use in my iPad Pro (its a normal phone contract, I just use it for the iPad) gets around 30Mbps where I live and when we go up north it can peak over 60Mbps.

It will be interesting to compare that to the EE sim I’m using now, once my number has ported over in a day or two.

Very shafted many people here with X preorders the year before last, pulling them in the final days when they were never realistically going to have stock. I didn't join in the fun last year, but it sounds like they did better with the XS - jury is still out seemingly this year?

Difficult to get a full picture of how it's gone with each supplier across such a long thread - my subjective take was that Apple-direct got most of their deliveries out 'on time' to promised schedule, and Amazon slipped a few from Friday into the weekend but then offered generous concessions when pushed.

I’m kinda missing the Max real estate having moved back to the smaller one. I may need to look at changing 🤔

As much as I find the size and weight of the Xs Max I was using before and my new 11 Pro Max they are things I’m willing to put up with for the extra screen real estate. At work my phone is my “ personal computer” and the bigger the screen the better.

For people on iUP... Barclays just took the 12th instalment for my Xs even though I’ve got a new iUP contract with them for the 11 Pro since Friday. I thought they were supposed to stop with the 11th instalment? Did this happen do someone else? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah slight buyers remorse here too, thing is if I’d gone max I’d be moaning it is too big!

I’m on the fence about swapping it tbh.

My other half received an email about a special student offer (my son has just started college this month) whereby for an iPhone 11 (64Gb), on EE with unlimited texts and calls and 50Gb data, it's just £46 a month (2 year contract) which I think is pretty good.

He's currently on Giffgaff (he's got an old iPhone 6) with a £20 Goodybag (Unlimited texts, calls & 40Gb data) but I guess it's easy enough to request a PAC code these days to move over to EE (the offer links to a student website where you can even input the PAC code so they sort out the porting process).

Had a look on the IUP and also iPhone Payments Programs but both would work out more expensive that the £46 a month student offer (no upfront fee for phone either).....

I’ve just got the iPhone 11 Pro and decided to go on Apple’s iPhone Payments plan, having always bought my previous iPhones outright. I’m paying £36.99 as part of that plan, and £12 to Giffgaff for texts, calls and data. In total I’m paying £48 a month for the top of the line iPhone. Could you maybe reduce your package with Giffgaff and do the same?

Sounds like the upgrade happened very code to your payment date. Suggest you call Barclays and confirm. If apple have settled your loans with Barclays your account will just be in credit for that account which they should have no issue returning to you

That's interesting - my first Very order was for the X and even though it was ordered an hour or so after pre-orders opened, they delivered as promised.

As you say, it must be based on the variation chosen. I always go for the flagship model with lowest storage option - I guess there must be a lot more of those than the more "niche" high storage models. I bought silver that year too and if this year is anything to go by, it's definitely not the most popular colour.

My apologies - the bad year with Very was the iPhone 7 in 2016, not the X launch. Glad to hear it's working better now.

It’s here 😀

Anyone order from Amazon and had a delivery estimate 23-25th? Mine now says "Expected by 25 Sep" but still not dispatched.
