What’s everyone’s experiences with music magpie? Sent my watches back last Friday, they received them almost 24hrs who, I’ve had nothing. As it’s likely to be after 2pm when they process them I’m not likely to receive the money until tomorrow now (at the earliest), can’t call them anymore so have to email, and that’s a 24hr response time.

don’t think I’ll be dealing with these clowns again!

For people on iUP... Barclays just took the 12th instalment for my Xs even though I’ve got a new iUP contract with them for the 11 Pro since Friday. I thought they were supposed to stop with the 11th instalment? Did this happen do someone else? 🤦🏻‍♂️

I've just had this too - have you had any luck with calling Barclays PF? I'm about to do this now.

Update: calling their number (0800 15 22 888) he confirmed this was an overpayment, and refunded it directly back to my bank account.

My apologies - the bad year with Very was the iPhone 7 in 2016, not the X launch. Glad to hear it's working better now.

No worries. :) I’m glad I didn’t order an iPhone 7 back then! 😄

Now if only the carriers would improve, sadly they keep over-promising and under-delivering every year....

I've actually always had a good experience with them but seen some horror stories posted here. Not that this is an excuse but this week is probably the busiest of the year for them. Wouldn't be surprised to see a slow down in processing times

Were there any decent black friday deals last year for the XS line up?
I kinda want a 11 Pro ideally 256GB, I know generally iPhones dont get discounted because they'll sell regardless but hoping to buy one towards end of the year - Not 100% sure but I keep looking at them :D

Also anyone downgraded in storage this year? I have a 128GB iPhone 7 atm, I feel 64gb is way too tight.

Then again who knows maybe I'll be still chugging on with my 7 until next year.

I'd personally avoid them like the plague. Item took ages to arrive despite tracking showing it as delivered (their response was that the tracking simply showed the parcel had reached its destination, but not their warehouse 😂🙄).
When it (an iPad) finally did show up they used the 'screen water damage' claim to reduce the offer by 10x (its a common pattern and the 10x reduction is standard too).
Needless to say I asked them to send the device back immediately - which then took 48 hours to get a tracking confirmation from them - I have seen some horror stories though about people taking ages to get their devices back.
The screen is obviously not water damaged at all - it has never been near any liquid or moisture in its life. The iPad is in absolute perfect condition.

This experience combined with the lack of a phone number to actually speak to someone makes them a hard no for me ever again regardless of what they might offer.

In future, I'll stick with Envirofone who've always been ultra reliable and honest.

I think your best bet will be to keep an eye out for ebay 10%/15% promotions at the Argos/Currys ebay stores. Discount usually capped anywhere between £50 and £100 (depending on the promotion).

Of no practical benefit to you now whatsoever, but in the future I’d suggest giving CEX (uk.webuy.com) a go, even better if you’ve got a store near you as it’ll all be done and dusted there and then.

I’m sure they’ll have horror stories too, every company does, but I’ve always found them to be pretty fair and certainly more so than Music Magpie, in my experience at least.

Well I’ve gone full circle !

I was adamant in my last post that I was keeping my XS and taking the 11 Pro Max back- mainly due to the weight.

but the more I thought about it, the more I came to the conclusion that the screen size was probably worth the weight gain.

So yesterday I went through the whole setup and transfer process all over again back to the Max and traded in the XS.
Went to a more reasonable car phone warehouse locally and they said my phone was “mint” and gave me the full 520.

compare and contrast with the other CPW store that said it was damaged and offered me 115 for damage he couldn’t even point out! I should complain about that guy.

anyways - done , and no going back now. I’ll just adjust to the weight and enjoy the big screen!

I sent 3 phones to Music Magpie on Saturday morning. They were all delivered yesterday afternoon by Royal Mail. 2 of the phones (incidentally the more expensive ones) were received by MM at 8.30am this morning, and then payment confirmed just before 10am. The other phone has according to the system not yet been received by them (I understand there can be a time gap between the phones being delivered by RM and then actually logged in their system as received). Hopefully that phone will be processed soon!

So all in all so far so good - and hopefully will stay that way!!!

Incidentally for my Watch I used a company called Plunc (were paying more than others at time I signed up) who received and processed payment yesterday (sent Saturday morning also). Would definitely used them in future also.

Which is why I mentioned the horror story aspect. Every company will have, nay has, customers with excellent, middling and terrible experiences. Even the companies with the best customer support and experience on the planet.

Used them for my XS and it was all fine. Posted on a weds 4pm, tracking showed delivered Friday pm, email sat morning saying it’s been received, paid on Monday morning

Everyone that was on iUP and upgraded over the weekend, check your bank accounts as it seems that Barclays have charged on 24th September under your old agreement even though it was paid off when you took out a new phone instore

I’ve used Music Magpie before and have been relatively lucky with them but one thing that I’m having trouble finding is their Returns Address as I gather the QR code is just Royal Mail Tracked 48 but offers no protection for any loss/damage?

Are my items insured on there way to you?
If you send your order to us using the label that we provide then your items will be fully insured. If you're concerned that your order hasn't arrived with us, please get in touch with our Customer Service team and we'll investigate for you!

Please note if you send your items using another method, your items will not be insured by us. It could end up slowing the processing of your items down once it arrives at our warehouse.

From memory this happened to me last year, I’m sure they just refunded it!

Edit - just checked the bank, they did take the payment and then refunded it 2 days later.

Would rather send me to o2 in store

How much you getting for your watch?

I am chasing the dragon of new iPhone euphoria, so today I picked up an iPhone 11 for my partner. I am certain I am more excited about it than he will be. 2nd unboxing in 5 days. Yeah. Straight into my veins (um, vicariously).

Anyone order from Amazon and had a delivery estimate 23-25th? Mine now says "Expected by 25 Sep" but still not dispatched.

I pre-ordered on Amazon on the 13th for 21st delivery. That date came and went with no end in sight. Stuck with tracking details saying that they'll email me when they have a dispatch date. Customer service are of absolute no use, "apologising" and saying to check back after a few days.

Now it's hard to find stock anywhere else

IUP People who got their AppleCare+ refunded to their Barclays Finance loan amount - how long did it take for this to be reflected on the settlement amount?

I’ve learnt that if it’s important, never trust Amazon’s stock status and never pre-order anything with them.
