Anyone know whether London Apple stores are carrying iPhone pro max stock? Website is showing delivery for mid October at the moment...

The 256GB Maxes and certain colours of 512GB Maxes seem in plentiful supply at Covent Garden, Regent St and White City. I'd check tomorrow morning as well, as stock seems to be updated every day.

The website iStockNow is also good for viewing stock of specific models across multiple stores.

Anyone here ave experience with trading in at CPW? My 11 arrives tomorrow and just want to know is the process of trading in there painless and hassle free? Do I need the box and do they pay there an then? Do I have to wait for them to test the device?

Cheers

no you don’t need the box or accessories - just the phone, and yeah you have to wait for them to fully test your device (takes 10-15 mins iirc). They may reduce the price if they find any issues. When I went to trade in my XS they reduced the price to £115 because of a dead pixel which I couldn’t even see, so be prepared. I just went to O2 and traded in and they priced match with Mazuma Mobile so got £555. CPW will price match as well with other carriers and Mazuma Mobile.

They will pay you by bank transfer (or in store credit - whichever you prefer).

Sorry if this has already been discussed but apart from reserving a unit @ 0600 does anyone know if there is a stock refresh @ 1500 for available iPhones too? This was the case in previous years. Thanks in advance.

...you may have a long wait!!!

I'm happy keeping hold of my XS this year - I'll actually get to keep it this time next year when I do upgrade to the 2020 models (as opposed to handing it back to Apple on the IUP!) so I can pass it down to the Mrs!
;)

well in light of that.... I am going to say farewell to all on this thread....

It’s been emotional and a little boring compared to previous years but I wish you all well! Enjoy your phones and try and stay alive to meet us all back here next year :D

take care all....

expecting pictures..

Then just @Dino F to cave and get their phone..

Then I’m oot of this thread
Personally, I don’t think @Dino F should he allowed to be a part of this thread... 😇

Just noticed this. Had anyone else noticed like a light bleed top of the screen?

Just popped back in to say that I had another good experience with Envirofone this year. 3rd time using. J
Got confirmation this morning that my full trade in price of £435 for my 256gb X was honoured and money will be in account today. They received my phone on Friday so good urnaround. I was expecting a bit of a deduction as there was quite a deep scratch about 3/4" on the screen that annoyingly happened on about the 2nd week of owning. Car keys in pocket!! Also a fair bit of light wear and tear scratching around the edges of the screen - but I guess they regarded that as normal for a 2 year old phone. 2 years ago they reduced the trade in on my 8 by less than £4 for failing testing for a reason still unknown to me!!

I could have had £450 with Music Magpie but was nervous that others seem to have had some issues with them.

ps Thanks to the person that suggested Cape Cod polishing cloths for the silver bezel as that worked lovely and now I can use them on my rather tarnished looked silver candlesticks!

Also really enjoying my 11 Pro - camera is fab.

Personally, I don’t think @Dino F should he allowed to be a part of this thread... 😇

👋

Aww cruel but funny! ANd would be less fun without @Dino F

No the colours at the top. Pink and green. I think I have it now. Think it’s the screen protector?

....ahh right!!!

Yea, you're right - thats the edge of the glass screen protector.

Unfortunately, yours has been installed so the edge rests right on the edge of the pixel area of the screen hence why you're seeing that rainbow effect. It's quite normal. You could try lifting the protector up and reinstalling but we're talking about an adjustment of literally only 1 or 2mm and you probably won't get the protector down again as cleanly!

I would leave it, depending on how bad your OCD is of course...!!

Thanks. Yeah. Will leave well alone.

Yeah, my screen protector does the same (Belkin installed at the apple store using the little gadget thing). Doesn't really affect me and I'd rather have the SP on there and have that than have the scratched up screen I had on my XS Max.

That aside, one week in and I'm delighted with the 11 Pro, particularly the size difference. Tried out the Pro Max in the Apple Store on Friday night and it feels far too big now - it makes me wonder how I used the XS Max for a year, I could barely hold it.

Very stressful and disappointing day today.

Ordered a 256GB Pro Max through Virgin Media. Was out for delivery this morning, then at around 10am, the Yodel (courier) website was showing the order as being recalled by the sender.

After spending the total of over two hours on the phone to VM, it turns out they had cancelled my order. No explanation. No reasoning. No nothing. The order was cancelled and that was that. They could reprocess the order... but that would mean starting over.

Best still, as I only had the credit check for the new contract done recently, that means I’m unlikely to pass a credit check again so soon after.

Why do I get the feeling that come 14th October (when the direct debit is due) I’ll be paying for a phone I don’t have...

Bloody awful service.

I would contact your bank and ensure no direct debit has been set up (I can log in online to check things like this - you can probably do the same).

It is bloody awful and part of me wonders if they've been overwhelmed with the offer of AirPods as part of the contract?

A couple of things. If they happen to attempt payment on the 14th, even if you've cancelled it with your bank and notified Virgin Media, you're entitled to an automatic refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee. Secondly, I would try and go about getting the credit check removed from Transunion, Experian and Equifax.

Ok guys. I’ve held out all the way until the 1st of October this year. I had my annual rant and rebellion and got a note 10+ but only lasted a week before I returned it and went back to the Xs max.

I’m sitting here about to pull the trigger on the 11 pro max 256GB. Cant decide if I want gold or silver though. Can you guys also give me some encouragement lol. I need you guys to put me out of my misery so I can just go ahead and get over with and upgrade again this year as I always do.
