I had the x in silver and my Xs max is gold. I wanted to go back to silver this year but my Apple Watch is gold. I kind of want them to match lol

I usually go for a different colour each years but I’ve had silver before so it’s technically not a new Color. All my recent accessory purchased were gold or pink gold so I think I’ll just stick with gold again and go for something new next year.

Another classic silver owner here.

Be sure to check the shade of gold they used on the Pro and Pro Max. I think they've changed it up again since last year, so it may not be an exact match with your Series 4 Watch.

What’s with the massive wait time on Amazon orders now, with delivery dates running into 2020, seems ridiculous to me.

Just wanted to say I had a good experience selling my iPhone 7 with MusicMagpie. They received the phone yesterday and paid the quoted amount into my bank account today with no problems.

I got my new iPhone 11 Pro 64GB in midnight green on Wednesday last week. I bought outright on-line as I am over 100 miles to nearest Apple store, but am intending taking back to store at the weekend for a refund and then applying in store for the iPhone payments plan to spread the cost. Love the new colour and the phone in general especially the night mode photos.

Was in my local Stormfront at the weekend just to get a look at the iPhone 11 in black. Got to say that I am tempted to perhaps "down grade" to the iPhone 11 but increase storage to 128GB. I liked the look of the larger screen size and obviously the lower cost and didn't notice much difference in the screen quality. Has anyone else done / considered something similar? The main thing that may prevent me doing this is the lack of the telephoto lens in the 11. Is it worth the price difference of £270? Have come from an X so was used to having the telephoto lens.

Think it comes down to yourself and how much you use the telephoto lens if you think its worth it or not

I had the 11 but took it back, as unlike you I didnt like the bigger size of 6.1 plus the thickness and weight. Only issues with LCD vs OLED I noticed was during the dark mode

I had the XR and was almost adamant that I wasn't going to bother with the 11 but I'm glad I did. I'm not too bothered about the lack of telephoto lens and I feel the screen seems better on the 11 than the XR (it seems cleaner and much sharper somehow).

With the official Silicone case I ordered from John Lewis whilst they have it on offer it doesn't feel too heavy but everyone's perspective is different.

Can I ask anybody here who has their new iPhone on iOS13 or above if they are getting the following issue:

Since iOS 13, I am constantly seeing this icon in the status bar:

It's ALWAYS there and has only been ALWAYS there since iO13 (and I'm actually using iOS 13.1.1).

I checked in the Location services under Privacy, and figured out it was the native Weather app causing this :

When I turn this off, the arrow in the status bar then disappears, BUT, when I then check the weather app on my Apple Watch, I get a notification asking me if I want to allow the Weather app to use my Location and even when selecting the 'Whilst Using app' option, the icon seems to stay in the status bar of the phone ALL THE TIME ?!

This never happened before - is this a bug in iOS13?

I’m on 13.1.2 and only see the icon when I’m viewing the weather. When I come out of the app the icon disappears after a few seconds.

Ok guys. I’ve held out all the way until the 1st of October this year. I had my annual rant and rebellion and got a note 10+ but only lasted a week before I returned it and went back to the Xs max.

I’m sitting here about to pull the trigger on the 11 pro max 256GB. Cant decide if I want gold or silver though. Can you guys also give me some encouragement lol. I need you guys to put me out of my misery so I can just go ahead and get over with and upgrade again this year as I always do.

You lasted well

Why do you put yourself through this? Lol

I love my silver...wanted a change

What made you go back?

Well the main reason was missing the Apple ecosystem. I don’t even know why I did it lol

The phone was really nice. The only complaints I really had were inconsistent battery life and the screen brightness changing even though auto brightness was turned off. I might have been able to mange the phone but the galaxy watch and buds just weren’t as good as the Apple Watch and AirPods. I think I just needed to try the whole experience so I could see if it was for me or not.

Are there any setting you need to change when taking photos?

I had an 11 but took it back as the phone was too big for my personal use

Just picked an 11 Pro up and I defitenily feel the camera some how is worse than what the 11 is, I’m not sure if its due to the weather being crap so photos look more dull, than when I had the 11 when I was taking photos on a bright sunny day

Just want to make sure no settings need changing etc?

Do you have any non-native apps that use location a lot/all of the time?

The reason I ask is I have Google's Nest smart thermostat in my home, which I had installed a few weeks before iOS 13 came out.

In the settings, it would appear Apple allows you to hide the location icon, but only for their own native apps (I guess they can trust themselves), but any third party location activity will trigger it.

My Nest thermostat needs location to be set to always to identify when I'm home or not to work properly, so I see the icon all the time, though it's thankfully not always active.

Probably an app that uses Geo Fencing.

Home security, or something that auto arms when you leave home?

....I don’t have any geo fence apps at all. And, I‘ve got the native weather app on my watch. It’s definitely a bug as when I now chose the ‘Never’ option for Location services for the native weather app, the arrow vanishes.

Not a great solution unfortunately - blimmin bugs 🙄

True, same for me Apple Watch and air pods were just a far better solution. Note 10 is a fantastic phone but a few things about android i just can’t get on with and are deal breakers. Still it’s good to try different phones and OS. Like me i think the apple ecosystem is perfect for you.

I learnt my lesson :) and why i didn’t get the note 10...i knew what device i would end up with.

no matter how good android seems I won’t get another one...
Yeah I think that’s it for me now. I’ve seen the whole picture with android, having the watch phone and buds and it just didn’t compare. I’m going to stay in lane.
